- Test drove the newly-updated Hyundai Tucson 1.6 Turbo. Decent car all round, well built, refined on the move, handles tidily, no obvious weaknesses, but in a field of highly competitive entries, need more wow factor to stand out.

Can see his expression on how happy one car can bring..with 1.6 turbo ,dual clutch ..7 speed dct
Love how you carefully phrase your criticism. Okay product in a verrry competitive field doesn’t sufficiently cut it. Keep up the good work, Kon.
Thanks for watching!
yea...i do agree with u...very good review bro...
The 2.0 version has no rear aircond vents and has just 2 airbags for RM120k? What the heck is Hyundai-Sime Darby thinking of? Are they trying to be the next UMW??
Problem is their service center is incomparable bad wif UMW
The new sonata 2020 will be priced 200k threshold, imagine that.
I like this car.. Logically dashboard layout. Powerful engine. Uncommon on Malaysian roads.
Very simple Kon, things always pop up in our mind when we see them regularly..Hyundai products lack advertisements and sponsorship in motorsports or activities, hence the brand is dying here in Malaysia.
Hyundai Sime Darby Malaysia and also Naza Kia Malaysia should get a hard slap for giving a much lesser specs for their cars in Malaysia and yet the price still tak mahu kalah. Their marketing or in another words, promoting their cars is also very poor! I recently got a guest from Aus who owns an Hyundai Tucson Highlander back home, when he saw my cousin Tucson (same as Kon tester) and make a walkaround, he was kind of shock to see lots of features gone in the Malaysia spec Tucson!
finally, clip mic. Nice!
Hi Kon, please do a review of Sportage diesel, would love to know if the 8AT is any good, thanks
Love ur video's Kon,
From Bangladesh!!
Thanks for watching!
Kon how is the turbo lag in the Tucson against the crv awd, does it feel a lot nippier off the line or marginal difference?
I don't understand your comment regarding power comparison X70 vs this Tucson...X70 is 184 HP where's this Tucson is only 177 HP....infact quite number of times I had driven X70 more than 195 KM/hour on HIGHWAY it's really and absolutely have the wroom power...yes X70 is heavier than this Tucson... however you don't felt that heavyweight during driving...the X70
The Tucson Turbo weighs 1,445kg and has a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. At the time I reviewed this car, I had only driven the X70 6-speed auto, which is 200kg heavier with a slower-shifting transmission. The X70 can definitely sustain high speed, no question, but instances when you're ambling along and suddenly call for power, the Tucson will leap off the line faster.
Terbaik bro kon..
How will you this Tucson with the Sportage? Coz I think these are almost the same pricing but feature and the engine is different
what is your question actually?
What suv would you choose if you are buying than...x70,crv,subaru tucson etc etc??
The choices will be between
1. X70 for its sheer value for money
2. CX-5 as an overall package
3. Forester for its robust underpinnings
@@KonWaiLuen Thanks.
Which model would you put yr money in on the x70?
@@hatikl6924 I'm happy enough with the Executive, but Premium really is the best value for money.
You are so passionate with your job bro
Me thinks it also applies to both Hyundai and Kia (or our local distributors in particular) regardless of their product offering (OK, maybe except the Stinger and i30N). They have definitely surpassed their 'budget-Japanese' reputation, and now needs something distinctive to stand out from the rest. Otherwise, like you have said, "they are easy to forget"
Somehow the Kia doesn't cut down the feature just to justify the price (of course hopefully the active safety feature will come too). The Hyundai wise seems to be keep the price lower but cutting some feature......
Hi Kon,just wanna ask your honest opinions on getting either the 3008 or Tucson? Both are 1.6 Turbo's which is why Im having thoughts which to consider.Do you mind helping?Im a enthusiastic driver so hope you can relate.Tqvm
3008 looks much better, but Tucson has better underpinnings for me.
@@KonWaiLuen Thanks Kon
how to add wow factor? plonk in the 2l diesel r-line engine... or even better the 2.2l one...
Better features to match the competition for one, and more adventurous cabin design.
Cx5 2.0 high vs tucson 1.6 t? For overall?
CX-5 lah, no contest.
Black on black potong steam dy! Nowadays creature comfort + up market feel + safety at reasonable price point is expected by consumer. Making matter worse by X70 offering upping the competition! 😂
Not as refine as CX5 but faster?
Nice mr Kon.. thanks..
I ingat u mau test drive i30N?? 🧐🧐
Kon, another great review bro.. Can you review as well the 2019 Kia Sorento Diesel engine... 🙏🏾
Ok. Will request
@@KonWaiLuen Thanks...!
Do a Genting run with crv 1.5..
Try kia Sportage and compare with its competitor
Kia Sportage is hideous.. and it shows in its poor sales figures
@@jswong8200 nope it is just malaysian mindset that can't accept it. The new facelifted one specs is kinda good with rm140k ish it gives better specs than mazda cx5 diesel which price at rm160k ish. One more thing i find that it drives better than its competitor. 👍
Good perspective Kon
The crv also is not a wow product.
It's not, but it's a known and trusted product.
Yo Kon, U just said this Tucson 1.6 Turbo can play ball with a BMW 320i !!! I believe U are joking when U said it. A 2016 BMW 320i with 184hp & a ZF 8-speed will run rings around/over this Tucson anytime bro. Just saying ya. Nothing personal ya. Oops, there goes my chance of winning the Giti tires.
Hehehehe.. i dont control who wins the tyres, but bringing the 320i into the picture was to give context and perspective to the viewer.
Good looking car but with basic look and tech not worth with the price
Drives well too
Not first.
Think you have hard time pronounce the "V", I heard "Wersion"(version), air con "went" (vent). You can ask Bobby for more accurate pronunciation.
Why you are always so concerned about lacking rear aircond vent? Is not a big SUV. Noted these in your comments on other cars too
Even a Persona feels hot at back on a sunny day, mid-sized SUV lagi lah.
@@KonWaiLuen true. If possible right, i really want to add rear aircond vents to my Kancil. Now damn hot compare to before
