Dear Jack and Graham, I've been a longtime viewer of Graham since his how I became a millionaire at 26 video I've always wanted to make a channel but kept procrastinating, I gave it a shot a year ago but quit. But since the lockdown I started to watched Graham's videos on the TH-cam Algorithm and gave it another go. Well I've gone from 118 subs to 5.1k in 10 weeks and I am on track to make 3k my first month being monotized almost replacing my full-time income!. I just wanted to say thank you Graham, Jack you changed my life! And to anyone procrastinating start a channel now this lockdown is the perfect opportunity.
The thing about editing is... Shelby can’t edit like Graham does (or any of the other guys mentioned) because they aren’t in the same niche. The ICH w/ Jack and Graham as well as Graham’s other 2 channels can get away with minimal editing but one of the things that make a lifestyle channel like Shelby’s stand out is the editing style. Shelby delivers on editing and production value and that keeps me going back to her channel. It’s not easy to hold people’s attention with a talking head video in the lifestyle niche.
Exactly Shelby's videos satisfy with the cinematic shootings and cool editing voice overs its like a short movie and her videos are not that long. I love her channel! On the other hand I just like whatever Graham explains and dont care the editing at all :)
That is correct. Thanks to graham I was able to cut down my expenses and pay of all my credit cards. It took me 22 months of constant saving. Not spending unnecessary money but I'm finally debt free. Thanks for everything graham

Alright Graham: I'm not a cosmetologist, but I gotta defend the cost of hair care for women. It takes a lot of hours of practice to get someone who can do your hair without hurting you or damaging your hair. You're paying for their expertise. Yes, you could find someone willing to take lower pay, but should you? As a freelancer, I get push back from clients on pricing a lot. They don't' realize that they are paying you to do something they can't do as well...or at all... Alright. Off my soap box.
I get so excited when he does videos with the Church twins Hopefully he could do one with or about Monica I know she's bought some real estate and broke it down Hopefully he'll react to it
TH-cam definitely listens! Graham, you are so right about the algorithm! At 54:00 min in, as soon as Shelby said "challenge accepted" I got an ad break and the ad was for a workout company "accepting a challenge" and working out together online. Boom!

The zooming that you mentioned that Jack puts in makes a huge difference. I noticed it when I first started watching your channel and wondered a lot of creators don’t. Too much effort makes sense.

I really had no idea how long hair could take to do until I had mine done. I was there as a model (it was a competition entry) so I knew it was going to take longer for pictures etc but I massively underestimated how much time the colour needs to just sit on the hair at various parts in the process without my hairdresser even doing anything. Definitely lots of patience required, I don't think I'd be well suited for that job because I'd get bored halfway through and want to do something else 😂
I didn’t even realize the video was an hour until about 30 minutes into it. Enjoyed the whole thing. Definitely want to see Shelby’s reaction to Graham 😂
about jack editing the zooms on the reactions videos, it makes the soooo much better like i always noticed them because those make the video so much more interactive

I'm at 44:07 in the video, and I think Graham is right. A lot of times, some youtuber I follow starts appearing more than it usually does and also TH-cam starts showing me about a certain topic and then all of a sudden, in less than 48 hours a video from that youtuber with that topic appears... maybe is just statistics but It has happened more than 10 times to me that I know of...
So what would the solution be, for people not to comment till they finish? Because then the video would have no comments for the first hour and probably not get promoted as much
Really enjoying these! I'd say "home renovations and DIY" videos have their own audience. There's tons of renovation type channels out there with crazy amounts of followers. Perhaps your following is just a little more interested in finance? I for one would love to see more "Construction/reno" videos from you guys!

I think there should be some sort of back-lash against Graham's philosophy for people who are clearly successful. I would say that the backlash has several parts: * There's a real cost to destination thinking that ignores the journey. 95% of human time is spent going somewhere, whether that is becoming a millionaire or writing a book. At some point the journey intelligently becomes more important than "getting there" or "making it." * Intelligence can be measured by the efficiency with which energy is transformed into sustainable human well-being. Here's where hedonic adaptation kicks in: If you buy one big thing like a Tesla it will often become normal in less than a year and get tuned out. However, if you buy avacado toast at one cafe, a new coffee at another cafe, flowers later that week you never run out of variety - the brain still registers novelty and enjoyment. * Inner development is ultimately more satisfying then making and spending money. Will Graham in his 80's be thinking "why was I so obsessed with penny pinching and missed out on travel, great loves, art and serendipity. In short, balance and context are important. I didn't take a holiday for 10 years and was debt free and avoided restaurants when I was starting out. It's a good practice. However, now I will gladly throw away $100. to feel 10% better for an hour or $1,000. a day for time off work to putz around. I think Graham's guests have healthier attitudes about the purpose of life then Graham does, though I'm glad Graham is teaching fiscal discipline to people who are not making their lives work at all.
Graham on saying I watch how a video does for the first few hours. And there's me that saves up all his videos for the weekend to binge watch at the weekend when I'm working.

1/2 down 1/2 upon completion is fairly normal in the construction trades to cover the cost of equipment, materials, permits & other operating expenses. Otherwise, they are loaning money out until they can collect.
I feel you jack on that missurable work school life style. I had wrestling, school, wrestling, work, and homework between 4:30 and 1:30 for 3 months. Fun stuff!
Just wanted to say regarding your discussion comparing "mainstream" talent income with TH-cam income you probably have to take in consideration how many of the TH-cam views end up skipping ads. Based on how many ads I skip, it seems to me that an advertiser would value a Superbowl view as much more valuable than a TH-cam view. The Superbowl probably isn't even a good comparison because part of the spectacle is the advertisements so people don't even tend to go to the refrigerator during the ads :) Thanks for all the great content from both of you!!!! BTW I found Shelby from her Tesla content and she can let Monica know that the same Tesla content brought me to her as well :D
Ok I’m a licensed cosmetologist in the OC. Y’all are killing me with the hair talk. It’s “lightener” aka “bleach”. Color isn’t going to fry your hair, the “bleach” will. It’s a process for sure and she’s right, having someone who doesn’t do it properly or cheaply is a nightmare!!

Really enjoying these! I'd say "home renovations and DIY" videos have their own audience. There's tons of renovation type channels out there with crazy amounts of followers. Perhaps your following is just a little more interested in finance? I for one would love to see more "Construction/reno" videos from you guys!

I think there should be some sort of back-lash against Graham's philosophy for people who are clearly successful. I would say that the backlash has several parts:
* There's a real cost to destination thinking that ignores the journey. 95% of human time is spent going somewhere, whether that is becoming a millionaire or writing a book. At some point the journey intelligently becomes more important than "getting there" or "making it."
* Intelligence can be measured by the efficiency with which energy is transformed into sustainable human well-being. Here's where hedonic adaptation kicks in: If you buy one big thing like a Tesla it will often become normal in less than a year and get tuned out. However, if you buy avacado toast at one cafe, a new coffee at another cafe, flowers later that week you never run out of variety - the brain still registers novelty and enjoyment.
* Inner development is ultimately more satisfying then making and spending money. Will Graham in his 80's be thinking "why was I so obsessed with penny pinching and missed out on travel, great loves, art and serendipity. In short, balance and context are important. I didn't take a holiday for 10 years and was debt free and avoided restaurants when I was starting out. It's a good practice. However, now I will gladly throw away $100. to feel 10% better for an hour or $1,000. a day for time off work to putz around. I think Graham's guests have healthier attitudes about the purpose of life then Graham does, though I'm glad Graham is teaching fiscal discipline to people who are not making their lives work at all.
Graham on saying I watch how a video does for the first few hours. And there's me that saves up all his videos for the weekend to binge watch at the weekend when I'm working.

Just wanted to say regarding your discussion comparing "mainstream" talent income with TH-cam income you probably have to take in consideration how many of the TH-cam views end up skipping ads. Based on how many ads I skip, it seems to me that an advertiser would value a Superbowl view as much more valuable than a TH-cam view. The Superbowl probably isn't even a good comparison because part of the spectacle is the advertisements so people don't even tend to go to the refrigerator during the ads :) Thanks for all the great content from both of you!!!! BTW I found Shelby from her Tesla content and she can let Monica know that the same Tesla content brought me to her as well :D
Ok I’m a licensed cosmetologist in the OC. Y’all are killing me with the hair talk. It’s “lightener” aka “bleach”. Color isn’t going to fry your hair, the “bleach” will. It’s a process for sure and she’s right, having someone who doesn’t do it properly or cheaply is a nightmare!!
