Hahaha I’ve been living in Australia since 2009 and I stopped eating pies altogether pretty quickly. Not just because of other decent local options, but because most Aussie pies are just not good. Same story with Fish & Chips, which I only have on the odd occasion. But when I’m back in NZ it’s back to pies and fish & chips.

In Australia we can't get single-serve pies that big unless we bake our own. When I have a pie night with bought pies, I have to have two, but I definitely could NOT get through two of those delectable looking beauties.
Get a family pie and share really a family pie would be close to the equivalent of 2 pies well depends on the size of the family pie . Maybe eat half and freeze half for latter .

Also the Koko Samoa cupcakes are delectable and honestly one isn't enough. Make sure you get some breakfast when you're there because they're really good!

As a Kiwi living in Canada I so miss good pies. A great pie combination used to be after midnight in the winter at Flinders Street Station Melbourne. A bowl of Pea soup with a meat pie floating in the soup and topped with mushy peas and tomato sauce. At the White lady pie cart. Cold winter night after finishing work at 2.00am. That was in 1969 so they must have been good that I still remember having them. I still also remember a pie shop on Lower queens st. Auckland that in season used to make the most unbelievable apricot pie. Oh the flavour of fresh cooked apricots and herbs in a pie shell. Heaven

The pies in NZ were ASTOUNDING, used to get a lot of shit from the workers there because I really enjoyed what they would call cat food pies that were super duper gelatinous mince meat concoctions. Get one of them with the crispy cheese baked onto the top of the lid game changer, would use 2/3rds of my lunch break just driving to the corner shop and grabbing a couple.
1988 I moved from NZ to Australia. To this day I am yet to find a pie as good as a kiwi pie ! I can see these pies are full on real ingredients and taste. sigh

I lived in Australia for 38.5yrs, and yet the N.Z meat pies are rated 10/10. The Meats are chunky, moist and tender. My favorite is steak and pepper pies at the AA Bakery in Te Puke, North Island New Zealand and I traveled up and down N.Z too.
