Thanks for the demonstration. This is better than every review I've seen where all they do is talk about it. You actually show us. Convinced me to get it.
Thank you! I'm definitely in the need to see it first camp.
Thank you. Nice review. I also really liked your review of the Sigma 50mm 1.2 DG DN.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the review and the real-world tests! Still happy to see a Spider Holster plate =)
You bet!
Wow, as happy user of 1st gen I did not expect AF to be SO QUICK. Thank tou for head to head comparison. I have something to think about :) concerning upgrade.
Right? Neither did I! I mean, I should have since everything Sigma is doing right now is focusing at light speed, but I still did not expect it!
What are you using to record with your camera to your phone?
The Sony creators app, then I just recorded the phone screen.
@@heatherlarkin Great! Thanks so much!
Maybe you can make a video one day on how you got started in photography =)
That's a good topic, I'll put it on the list!
THANKS
You're welcome!
what about dust resistance??
At the 1st one was very easy for dust dots do get into the glass...like too easy...
They fixed that with this one! It's sealed like all the newer ones.
well.. i think that time will tell..
I hope that they fixed that for real..
Cheers from Greece !
I've seen time diagrams (and you can too, it's in the announcement video on the Sigma channel) of the new seals. They really did fix that.
@@heatherlarkin yes , i know, i've seen that and i hope that really works.
I always want an 24 70 2.8 lens and those "dusty" reviews keeps me away from Sigma.
I use Tamron 28 75, the 1st one , but those 4mm at widest is something that i really want..
So, Sony 24 70 is to expensive, (i have an a7iv), Samyang 24 70 just NO, and i wait if
Sigma talk the talk and walk the walk !
Nice review Heather. To my eyes the new lens renders nicer bokeh and can better cope with high dynamic range images.
Thanks!
I was dead set on keep my OG version till I saw your focus test. TBH, I'm not sure it really makes that much of a difference for my portrait work. I've started investing in the little I-Series lenses for my A7Cii. You should do some reviews on them ;)
The I-series is so fun!!! to be honest, I'm also unsure if it will make that much of a difference for my portrait work, but I will probably replace my OG version with the new one because toddlers are fast.
i just bought the first generation without realizing there was a second generation. Is that a big deal or is the first one also great??
Eh, the first one is great too but if you're still in the return window I might swap them.
@@heatherlarkin Thanks!
I love my version 1. I'm not upgrading
Yeah v1 is a great lens. I think I'll upgrade but that's because I like the focus speed for toddlers.
7mm shorter? the table says 122.9mm vs 122.2mm so 0.7mm shorter (basically same size)
Ahhh that's what I meant yes but numbers and me are not friends. 😂
is the diffrence realy worth 250$?
I would say yes due to the speed of focusing!
Why only 1080?(
Didn't feel like a TH-cam lens review needed to be 4k
@@heatherlarkinsame.
I do or I don't need 4k?
@@heatherlarkin nope. Not needed
