If anyone has any doubts about BTS not being true fans of hip hop need to listen to this song. They know how to acknowledge and appreciate the greats that came before them. When BTS first started RM made a playlist of different hip hop tracks for the other members who didn't know a lot about it because he didn't want the group to make hip hop music without them knowing anything about it. BTS actually did a tv show called American Hustle Life back in 2014 where they came to LA for 2 weeks to learn more about hip hop and they got to be mentored by Coolio and Warren G. The show can be cringey at times, but I also think during this time they learned a lot. And it's also neat to see BTS navigate LA before they became famous.

Coolio dissed them not mentored them. Warren G was a bit more respectful

10:05 😂. 11:23. 12:27 Name drop a rapper besides BTS who can say if loving Hip-hop is a sin, they'd die a hundred times...
They literally breathe hip-hop. Even though their music doesn't sound hip-hop, at times. Cause they also do rock, pop, ballad, r&b, etc.
Also despite their change in sound or image, ALL BTS music that they personally wrote & produced are by essence is HIP-HOP.
Cause hip-hop is all about being authentic (staying true to yourself) & telling your story.
Hip-Hop is not an "aesthetic" nor just about rapping cool or sounding cool. Cause these days most rappers just rapping about their fame, money, b*tches, h*e's, etc. & thinks they're hip-hop as long as they rap cool with no actual bars & substance.
But true Hip-hop is a culture & mentality. It's a cultural movement about standing for what's right, speaking up about injustice, inequality, suppression, etc.
    And BTS embodies that.

🎯🎯🎯 So true. The Korean public can go from harsh to downright ruthless against artists who they perceive as “misbehaving” and even their government has in the past blacklisted celebrities for stepping “out of line”, yet BTS has risked backlash on multiple occasions with lyrics criticizing the education system, social disparity, consumerism & conformity and addressing other uncomfortable subjects, either through their lyrics, their visual content (music videos, etc) or their actions.

@@7Flowers1Dream Tsk. You know what's more frustrating?
I saw a comment in TikTok were a Taylor Swift fan dissed BTS saying BTS songs have no meaning & BTS can't write their own songs.

@@rafaelsmith5737 I wouldn’t worry about it too much. It’s probably just plain ignorance, but it would be hypocritical of someone claiming to be a TS fan (they may just be antis trying to stir fan wars) would make those comments about BTS when they (rightfully) despise others displaying *their* ignorance by saying the same two false statements about TS. I don’t have enough energy to be involved in two fandoms, but I respect TS and like many of her songs. She is passionate about her craft and great at it through both talent and practice/experience, just like BTS. Neither of them needs to put the other (or other artists) down to shine. They have earned their place in music history. No one will ever be “them” regardless of what others do/don’t do. I wish more fans (and people in general, really) would realize that and apply the “golden rule” to their actions. 💜

The live reaction of this is so much better. Also J Hope's new album HOTS Vol. 1 just came out two weeks ago. It is really good. Think you would like the "movie" Neuron on the album. J Hope is definitely hip hop and also has a six segment docu-series on Prime Video which has a lot of hip hop dancing in it. Also, J Hope is a huge fan of J Cole and actually did a song with him in 2022 before he went in the military (on the street).

This s9ng should have been featured on the 50th Anniversary of Hop Hop special, showcasing the far reach of hip hop, helping to creat the biggest gl9bal group in history, BTS.

I'm loving your reactions and surprise at BTS. They wrote this song 10 years ago too. They different! In a good way. I'm not sure if you've reacted to J-Hope's song "On the Street" ft J-Cole. J-Hope started dancing at 10yrs old. He won many competitions too. He joined a street dance crew named "NEURON", this of course was way before he joined BTS. He just released a mini album call "J-Hope on the Street," and one of the tracks is called "NEURON," which really brings J-Hope back to his roots as a street dancer.. It dropped only a couple weeks ago, and it is 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Also, on the album is a track call "I wonder" ft Jungkook, also 🔥.
    Check em out. 💜

BTS donated ONE MILLION $ to Black Lives Matter. ARMY raised another ONE MILLION $ in less than 24 hours to match BTS . Therefore TWO MILLION $ was donated to Black Lives Matter. THAT IS MAKING A VERY REAL & AUTHENTIC STATEMENT, RIGHT THERE.
      Doncha' think?
