I love that she uses leglocks. It's good to see grappling martial arts represented a little in fighting games, even though it would be hard to make groundfighting a big focus in a game like this.
That was an important time for her of course because it was her debut, but damn her first sprite wasn't very good looking. It gets infinitely better in RBFFS, including a cool redesign. But at least her older versions stand out by unique moves abandoned in later FF and KOF games.
In the story itself for this game, it is stated that he survived the fall and publicly had it announced he was dead for 4 years straight. So yes, just like Joker and Shredder, this bastard survives a high rise fall.
Now i never played Fatal Fury before, so is there like a extreme difference between this and King of Fighters series? i'm just curious and sorry for the dumb question. 😅
This series is the origin of KOF, in the firts fatal fury, the tournament is called “the king of fighters” and it happens after the “art of fighting” series story. Also there is a place called “real bout” on a stage of fatal fury, wich is also the name of the subsequent series.
KOF plots are truly a joke. The game outshined the other SNK games because of the innovative concept (team crossover) and gameplay, strong roster, and the story filled with anime cliches from the 80s and early 90s. And animes were growing like crazy in Japan at the time. But stories of other SNK games, even though having their own cliches, at least took more effort. Also FF and AOF were more inspired by American stories.
