I’ve noticed that the downward flow can be really impeded with too much media in the basket. Loaded mine up with too much carbon and the water level was always halfway up the basket even after a fresh roll. Reduced media to about half and problem solved.
Hey lee you been? I been thinking about getting a reefmat and you seem to like it. After some time how do you like it?would you do it again? Also what type of fish do you have in your tank? I think I see you got some Chromis have you been have to get them to school?
Hey Thomas, yes, the reefmat is a game changer. Set it and forget about socks and floss. The rolls are now lasting me 3 months. The best piece of kit I purchased, hands down tank, is clean and hassle free, now when I'm away. I've got 7 fish paid of clowns, starry lawnmower blenny, radiant wrasse, fairy wrasse, 2 chromis, I had 4 chromis one managed to slip though into my drain area as was to small and died the other was bullied and died.
@7h0m4s Nope, I tried with a ball of Chaeto and tunze eco led, but no joy needed to tumble the algae. It just made a mess in my sump and got tangled in my skimmer pump. To be honest, my nutrients run low 5ppm nitrates, phosphate 0.02ppm. I have to manually dose phosphate. Otherwise, I will bottom out. My skimmer and rollermat are doing a job to keep it low. Have to ask yourself why you need it? As running all of this stuff can strip out too many nutrients and leave your corals without. 🪸
@@reeferexplained8846 I been seeing people been turning the media rack to a refugium and thought it was a great idea but if your telling me your numbers are good then your fine.
Good explanation. It helped me with getting that dirty side used roll off.👍🏾
This has helped prep me for mine. Hopefully my 1200 will be delivered before the weekend so I can set it up 😀
Thankyou so much

It still looks a lot of hassle
