- In this tutorial, I'll show you how to fold 3D origami pieces. Making the 3D origami triangle units is the basics for creating 3D origami. You can make the triangle pieces (or units) fast with practice. Creating hundreds of origami triangle pieces allows you to construct 3D models, tiny or large. i want to do 3d origamis really bad but i dont got rectangle pieces.if i fold a square in half and cut the two pieces,are those 2 rectangle good enough?
Yes, 1:2 ratio works, as well. It's probably easier too. :-) Just make sure the folds are "tight" so that the pieces don't become too loose.

i do it with paper for recycling usage. i made around 4000 of them while bored and now i try to do something good with it.

I use 8.5 x 11 paper (US letter size) Im not sure if it will work to make pieces from it. (Like to make 32 pieces.. divide 8.5/4 and 11/8) thanks!

So like i probably wont get a response for this.. but does the size of the square have to be exact for these to work? I made boxes of similar size by folding snd cuttin printer paper, if i make a load of those will the 3D origami still work?
Maybe it's also possible to use paper with the edge ratio 1x2.
Then the inneren corners go all the way to the immer corner.
Or 1x3 and skip the first fold in half.

How do i cut the shap? How many times do i need to fold a paper to that small? Can you make a video of it?

+MUKESH KANWAR You can use regular computer if you'd like, or even recycled paper (from calendars, books, etc).
what type of paper can you use
You can use regular computer paper if you don't have colored paper. Just make sure it's not too thick so that it's hard to fold. I know people who recycle old magazines too. :-) Have fun!

most paper works other then the sheets which are very hard to fold even normal origami square you can half it to make it :D

How do I measure it faster? I only use scissors
Fold it the long side by 8 and the short side fold it by 4
Currently I can make one piece in 15s. Anyone knows any faster way????

I do realize because i have made those triangles and it took me so much time to make 200 units.

Yes, it's fine. Just make sure it's not too thin or else it won't hold its shape very well. :)
