When I started folding some pieces, I was so hopeful, so determined. “I’ll fold these all by hand! I’ll pour my dedication and hard work into this! I won’t ever use any other method to make it easier, I got this!” But now? After hours and hours and only a tiny pile of pieces? This machine looks like a lifesaver

UPDATE 12.01.2021: Mark(the creator of this machine) said it will take another 30 days to produce the new machines for purchase.

Do you have any recommendations for cutting paper more straight and accurately when preparing the pieces normally?
Hello, I use a ruler and they turn up quite good, you can also clip the paper together so it doesn't move and is easier to cut with a knife.
Please use a paper cutter. You can cut more pieces simultaneously with more accuracy
I guess that my worst problem is that I cut letter paper into around 24 a4 size pieces and it gets kind of hard for me to be accurate pieces when measuring and cutting.

Hello, try to glue the pieces.
I use glue on every model but don't show it in the video because it is a waste of the audience's time, it says it in the description though.

Hello, very good question. Tested it out and found out that 2 is the limit, any more and it becomes hard to turn the lever and the cut on the 3rd line doesn't go through.

i have access to 3d printers at my school, and im hoping to design a version which will fold them for me and simply take from a large stack of modules, if i can make this then i will hook up a motor to it and let it run for hours for a nice chache.

Over $200. It's a waste of money. It took him longer to cut and fold them with the machine than doing it the old fashioned way.

As someone folding it the old fashioned way, I feel like this is cheating, just like using glue :D I feel the art of Origami being betrayed :D
Hello, you can do it by hand as well, it just takes a lot longer and if you don't use glue it will fall apart with time and your hard work will be gone.
You are right. Also pieces are not same in shape and size. And total time estimation shown 4:25 is wrong. It varies. I'm giving my own example, I can fold 5 cut pieces of 1/32, only in 2min. And cutting time is not too much if one can follow proper technique. Also there is no wastage of paper in conventional method.
The heart of origami (the one that uses one square) is to create something without ripping or tearing the paper. All math. All geometry. Pure skill and craftsmanship. To an origami fundamentalist, 3D Modular Origami is cheating.
@@ckeekyzekey This is why it is called 3D modular Origami, yet if it was not called 3d modular origami, then yes it would be cheating, but since you are ¨making" the 1/31 paper, it might still be considered origami?

I prefer to cut them myself and have them folded by a machine. Folding takes a long time, not cutting the paper. (😉👍)
one last thing, make sure the car isn't a rip off? it was my dream to hope for a machine that facilitated the pieces, I have also been doing origami for years! (madea origami ====> facebook page)
