At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Obviously, a lot of this (the vast majority of it) is dramatic fiction, but if I were Suleiman, I'd find it incredibly telling that with what Hurrem thought was her dying breaths, she begged him to protect their children from Ibrahim. Not from Mahidevran or Valide Sultana or anyone else. Ibrahim. That would do more than give me just a little pause. I mean, as far as she knows, she's willingly swallowed poison to prove her loyalty to him and instead of praying or saying "I love you" or something more typical, she begs her husband to protect their kids from his best friend. Very chilling.
Yes, how dare hurrem! Mahideveron would NEVER try to poison a woman and her unborn child! Oh... wait. The hypocrisy is just too much. Hurrem was no worse, and often better, than everyone else in the harem.
yeah he never asked mahidevran to drink poison lol
Had mahidrevan forgotten that she tried to poison Hureem when she was pregnant ????? She had very short memory and twisted everything to suit her argument. And she was caught red-handed and exposed for her deed ... 😮😮
The acting after she drank the poison!!! WOW! if anyone wants to learn how to be an actor watch this!!! 😱🌷♥
And when she asked for more fair money, they fired her and got another Actress.
What a stunning actress❤!!!
For everyone questioning why only Hürrem receives the blame, it's because the actions of the Valide Sultan still had the veneer of respectability over them and, on top of that, it was Hürrem, not the Valide Sultan, that Efsun accused of being a threat to Mustafa on her death bed. (I agree with all of you that Hafsa still holds blame here, though. Her showing up to comfort Mustafa over the death of a woman she'd had a part in left a truly bitter taste in my mouth.)
As if Mahidevran didn't poison Hurrem while she was pregnant.
It’s really strange
Because it’s was Valides order
Valide Mustavas grandmother, his favourite grandmother did it
And He blames only Hurrem
Why?
Of course I watched all seasons and I know all
But I still don’t understand why they all did bad things and blame only Hurrem
Valide is always innocent
Because he has been brainwashed by his mother! And how can he blame his grandmother, nothing would come of it, easier to blame someone they think they can get into trouble.
When Hurrem wakes up, the acting is amazing - the wonder, getting her bearings, crying in relief, then that brief flash of anger before she controls it to compose herself to get the answers she needs - just so masterful!
How do he blame hurrem not valide sultan
The scene where Suleyman asked Hureem to take the poison was so funny especially Hureem's expression .... I love that scene ... and like Hureem verh much.😅😅
12 years ago memories 😢
Expression queen hurrem darling ❣️
Their love is so inspiring
Of all children, Mustafa is the worst.
Ah Süleyman yasik 😢
Suleiman knew of the hypocrisy of mahideveran and his own mother. He knows of all the lies and power playing going on.
Mahidevil started it also Hürrem sultan did nothing to efsun, it was hafsa who did it. I don't like Mustafa at all
I would drink it too. It would be much faster and less painful. The turks knew hideous methods of torture and death. By drinking it she thought she'd save her children's lives too.
She drank it because she couldn't exist without their love.
This was godawful funny bad! Talk about over acting! Especially “Karen Reynolds Channel 28 Action News”. And the script! Ridiculous. I need help too!
