Staff of command is a major item for sure. I gave a staff of healing once out it changed the game completely
For sure - powerful magic can be super fun and allows the PCs to do things they never could at their level
Post watch comment for the ALGO gods - suppper excited to see how things go down next session, also, to see a level 2 OD&D character exist hahhaaha! Really love the process of creation. It seems like every solo player has their own methods, style, resources etc. I used to run solo D&D for myself, now I just use all the systems/tools (with party rolls and story colab) to run our regular game! We love it and it takes so much pressure off me... I can focus on being more stylistic, and I can play a character without feeling like I'm inserting DM PC into the mix.
