  • In her keynote at Pre-COP26, the Youth4Climate conference, climate activist Vanessa Nakate implored global leaders to take action and listen to the most-affected people. She began with a poignant story about witnessing deaths in Uganda caused by climate change, and used her speech to call out other devastating effects across Africa.
Vanessa Nakate began striking for climate justice in January 2019. She is the founder of the Rise Up Movement and Youth for Future Africa.

The sooner we get our current leaders out of office and get young people like Vanessa Nakate leading our peoples, the sooner we can build a world in which everyone, not just a privileged few, can thrive.

Watched 'Planet of the humans'?: take care for the 'green deal', just stop weather control (going on since the last 55 years) Heart-touching speech of Vanessa, making the problem visible for everyone. It's time for a new world with spiritual leadership

    Totally spot on...
Only thing I differ with is the request or demand for grants. We should be asking that the grant be giving in the form of investment rather than liquid cash

The investments of developed countries should be done on domestic ground, not on foreign ground. Developing countries should receive non-binding, non coertive funds. The coercitive aspect of equity will come from the threat of climate change and from the accessibility/affordability of global warming mitigation measures (clean energy, natural solutions).

Thank you for your very important message. It is past time to act, but we will do out best to catch up. If we cannot rely on our leaders, we will lead ourselves in our communities. We thank you for sharing your knowledge and your message. We hear you and will respond.

It's been a long time we've been in the wrong direction. It's cruel to only watch the loss and damage of lives and livelihoods and to not take any action. We are in the midst of a mass extinction. And we should be back to environment and mother nature. Pollutors must pay for what they have left to us young people. #climatejustice

As a member of your preceding generation, I'd like to apologize to you younger than I that I am ashamed of my generation and our misuse of this planet. In Guyana,s.a. the world bank brokered a deal to sell, cut, a virgin rainforest for one dollar per acre. It's true value is it being alive to produce rain which fills the rivers and regulates the gulf stream s temperature. Ever wonder why Europe flooded a year ago? Make sure the g7 nations fund the world bank, okay so they can lord over the resources of undeveloped countries. Could be this is the plan. I'm sorry I was not more effective in stopping what I knew, know, was a far e. Now they want to build a power plant, a hydro power plant which will flood millions of acres of timber to produce 165 kw of power for who, there is only 800 k people in Guyana. Stop this now later is too late. Then look at lake Maracaibo, my god what have we done?
