    What do u do to prep the car for track days and what do u do after tracking it for maintenance?

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t do much. The only preparation I will do before a track day is inspect the brakes and tires to make sure they have enough life left. Since I’m still running the stock caliper brakes wear very fast. I’ll also make sure my oil level is at least at the full level. Occasionally I will quickly bleed off the calipers if I feel like the brakes were acting funny.
      Otherwise nothing special. I change transmission and diff fluid roughly once a year and change my engine oil every 8 events or so. I submit my engine oil for analysis and they typically suggest that the oil still has a decent amount of life left.

    Should you know how to heel toe fluently before going to the track, or is that something you learn while going to the track while simultaneously ruinning your clutch?

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can learn that in parallel. I did a few track days without heel toe and learned on the streets.

    how are you mounting your aim solo to the modifry bracket?

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The aim solo comes with a bracket that is mounted to the modifry bracket. I think I had to drill the modifry bracket to make some holes.

    Rcrew has a BBK ready for you, when you make the move!

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The BBKs Rcrew sell are definitely the best of the best but they seem to be overkill for a naturally aspirated S2000 imo. I went with the StopTech C43 kit for lower consumable cost and the lightweight caliper/rotor.

    getting rid of the windshield wipers is a good mod to decrease turbulent air going over the wing

    Do you have a sump baffle and what fluids do run gearbox and diff please?

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not run a baffled oil pan and have not for over 40 events. I have an oil pressure gauge which I monitor with another GoPro. So far the gauge has not told me that I’m losing any significant oil pressure in corners (if any). I typically overfill the oil though.
      As far as fluids go I typically just run whatever the cheapest full synthetic is. Right now I think that is Amsoil in the transmission and diff but I’ve previously run Mobil 1 in the diff and Honda MTF in the transmission.

      Nate drove the CR and mentioned that he noticed the stability of the wing. At the same time Nate is on a square setup which gives immense front grip and $6000 dampers (I’m on 160k mile OEM suspension) so we each have our advantages and disadvantages.

    How much does it cost to do this at Laguna Seca?

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the time of year, decibel level, and organization but anywhere from $225-$700. I personally won’t pay more than $300 for a Laguna event so I stick to low decibel days usually in the winter.

    • @DIYGuysvideo
