Great lap! I was there for my first time the same day. Didn’t realize you were there. Otherwise, I’d come over and say hi. It’s a wild track with serious elevation changes. I still have lots to learn and apply. Hope I can get under 1:40 someday too
It's amazing how much much speed you can carry through the turns compared to my whale (Audi S4) on street tires. I was struggling for grip on every turn. Nice lap!
I got a Caterham that has a LOT less aero than that, plus a roll cage for extra drag - and a crappy gearchange (miss one shift per lap on average) and I run 1:34s/5s at Laguna Mind you, for an S2000 (I owned and stuffed an AP1) that’s moving !
Hi Nate, 😊great driving as usual. Only functional quality mods on the car also. Couple of questions: do you still drive it on the road or it s a track car only?does the custom tune with the decat give nice results (for road use in particular)?I have ohlins R&T, Recaro RSG with Endless ME20 and next I might look into a BBK too. I drive the car on the road and I don t want to remove the airbag but in my case I d really love to bring the steering wheel much closer to me. How you find the driving position? I adapted by driving very close to it with my legs quite cramped but I have long legs and I m 6 feet tall. Talking about a functional mod which would be on top of my list otherwise
A lot to respond to haha. The test pipe & tune helps quite a bit by lowering VTEC crossover and filling in the midrange between 4500-6k - you definitely notice it on the street but it does take away from the cool VTEC crossover feeling a little. The driving position is pretty limited since I'm also 6' and had to lower the seat as much as possible & tilt it back to keep my helmet under the roll bar. I wish the wheel were adjustable and would ideally move it towards me a bit since I can't comfortably cross my arms in my current position, but I've just learned to drive around it and shuffle steer a little. I think the car reacts so quickly that the steering wheel weight becomes an issue with the stock wheel, it slows your inputs down a little bit. I'd like a wheel but I also like the stock wheel & shifter look so I've left it so far.
Haha yes it's accurate - verified with datalogger and transponder. I was pacing similarly with the grey GT3 who graciously moved over at the end of this lap for most of the day.
This onboard is invaluable! Thanks so much. Miss my 2003 AP1.
This man can drive, rare TH-cam onboard where I see the car on the limit

He's got the quickness
Hell yeah that was a really sick lap man!
Nice driving, loved the foot pedal cam and the triumphant 'WOO', across the line!
S2000 are great little sports cars
It was a pleasure to see this video.
Thank you man.
nomnomnom GT3
Nice! Now I have a great example to follow if I ever go to Laguna Seca.
Nicely done Nate
Never been there but is looking fast.

damnn s2k catching up on a GT3

they repaved the entire track? I gotta get out there now
Awesome
Fast!
Hey Nate, amazing driving!
Curious how much power the car put down? Did you keep the stock headers too?
🤘🤘🔥🔥
thats very fast!
I thought they only repaved a portion of the track? (the front straight)
Nice driving dude.
What camera do you use for your pedals?
What brand tire did you use and what is the tread rating? Thanks.
It's listed in the video :) 255/40R17 RE71RS on their 4th day.

How do you get around smog checks with hondata?
He must reside in one of the 11 counties where smog he is smog exempt.)
Tell me more about that musac
remix of flicker - porter robinson.. sounds like
@@averyscottbrown Thank you!
TH-cam generally detects music and displays track info beneath the description, you can usually find it there
Nice. Is the lap time accurate? GT3's were running same lap times that weekend, with higher speeds in the straights and probably also in the turns.

@W33lhop Impressive. Not sure how an S2000 can do that without boost or slicks but good work!
@@TopElement He's got the driver mod ;)
@@TopElementdriver mod > car mods 🫡
faster than a stock F40
No aero s2000🫡❤
Nice trailbraking!
Your Instagram does NOT do justice to your skills. Only seeing the telemetry data does it put into perspective just how much ass you're hauling.
New asphalt?? Someone tell Jason @DIYGuysvideo 😂
Oh he knows :)
