I hate people that think because someone has a disability
it makes them stupid, but this just shows not all are less intelligent
    because she's very smart.

Rene Moreno turned on a light for me and a lot of people towards Down syndrome. It's not down, it's up. To this woman all I have to say is I am cheering for you, and you deserve equality.

Many times, when I'd see a kid with DS, I'd think that I'd like to be able to take them in my arms and make it all go away.
Then I thought some about what I was thinking and changed my opinion.
What I rrealized was, by doing that, I would take away all the kids who their parents, family and friends love them~~just they way they are.
I've never had kid butt, I have found out about myself that, if I was "Dad" to a kid with DS, I'd be just fine with that.
    They're super human beings.

Every time I watch a video with a person living with DS, I cant help but feel like what the person living with the syndrome is saying, seems rehearsed. It seems to me, as if they are reciting something they were coached to recite. Even when they don't seem to be reciting a speech, it's as if what they say naturally, is from a hat of catch-phrases. This always confused me. I was good friends with a boy living with down's syndrome in my high-school years. He never seemed to be pulling his responses from a hat. He never seemed rehearsed. He had his UPs and he had his DOWNs. Why is this girl saying "Every day is the best day I've ever lived. Every meal is the best meal I've ever eaten!" That doesn't seem natural to me. It's as if she's been coached to say that she has a wonderful life, just so that people will think her life is worth something. In my opinion, every single human being's life is worth something. No1's life is more important than anyone else's life. Including this bright young girls.... Don't coach your daughter to say that every day is the best day of her life?! Allow her to make/create/formulate her OWN opinions about each and every day of her life, and each and every MEAL. The HELL? Idk. If I had a son/daughter living with DS... I would treat them like ANY ONE ELSE. They wouldn't be a poster-child for DS. They wouldn't be a billboard for living with DS. They'd be treated like anyone else! If they felt depressed, they'd get some therapy! Idk. I don't mean to be a weird person, knit-picking on the reering of this young woman... I'm sure her mother gave her, her 110%! But, I hate to see those living w/ this "syndrome" reciting what seems to be a completely fake SPEECH.
