THAT is the best line in this series, too bad they went back to it because the whole "Shaken..." thing was getting too camp. Also, the proper ingredients for a Vesper no longer exist- Kina Lillet is no longer made (and Lillet blanc is too sweet); Gordon's Gin is no longer available in the same proof as the original.
Exceptional video! This really highlighted key moments and performed a wonderful deep dive into James Bond's iconic choice of drink. It was great to see the consistency of Bond's drink preference across all the films - shaken, not stirred. The detailed breakdown of the martini recipe was a surprising but educational twist, certainly going to try making it myself. I can't wait for more content like this!
First time in a fancy bar, my first cocktail i try this. It was very strong, like sipping soap water So i order coke and rum next, while my cousin finish my martini as her third glass and called me a pussy 😂
I tried it last night. It's difficult to develop a taste for, but it helps to be drinking a normal martini since while James Bond's order is iconic Vodka makes it worse and shaking it more so. It's essentially a way to get blasted in a fancy way
I remember a radio talk show many years ago, they discussed why it is shaken and not stirred. When it is shaken it homogenizes the mixture. If it is stirred the lighter liquor floats to the top and changes the taste of the drink.
The ultimate Bond Martini is the Vesper first introduced in Ian Fleming's Casino Royale novel in the 1950's. The Vesper embodies everything super spy. 🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸
Agreed! I've made it at home, it's very good: You need to buy Lillet Blanc Vermouth somewhere (The original Kina Lillet isn't for sale anymore) but it's pretty close.
@@JamesBondLounge Kina Lillet was an aperitif that had quinine in it. It was actually somewhat bitter. I've heard that the closest thing you can get to Kina Lillet today is Cocchi Americano, an Italian aperitif. Haven't tried it myself but maybe someday. I use Beefeater Gin, because it's my favorite gin, and it has the same alcohol content as Gordon's did in the '50's. The vodka is unspecified except for measure; I prefer 10 times distilled vodka. To get closer to the Kina Lillet of the '50's, I use Lillet Blanc and plain tonic water. I add very little tonic water, but this can be adjusted up to taste. The bitter flavor from the quinine in the tonic water really adds another dimension to the drink. Cheers! 🍸
stirred martinis are clear and ice as cold. shaken adds more air to the drink and dilutes it a tiny bit more. you usually stir cocktails that have a main ingredient with smaller amounts of other ingredients, and shake cocktails that have more individual ingredients. standard rob roy has mostly grants scotch, some sweet vermouth and dashes of angostura bitters - you would stir this. but a margarita has tequila, triplsec, lime juice and sugar syrup - you would genuinely shake and fine strain this. also the consistency would be slightly thicker for a shaken martini
Shaking is dilluting the martini, the ice being shaked away, making it less stronger, stirring is less dillution. Shaken is the way to go for Bond, since he is on the job.
Funny how this was made out to be a sophisticated gentleman's drink but is actually so simple. My go-to while in a suit is an extra dry dirty vodka martini. Shaken or stirred you ask? Does it look like I give a damn

Vodka Martini, shaken not stirred. I love James Bond.
The way that Le Chiffre gets irritated by the drink order always gets me 😂
To be fair he was almost executed that night he really didn't have time to screw around

"Shaken, Not Stirred" is something typical and unique from a Bond film.
I always crack up at "Stirred not shaken" even better knowing he'd later play Blofeld
“Shaken, not stirred”, This is a really good compilation!!
2:53 the year is off on this video for casino, Royale. That movie was released in 2006.
He’s also wrong about the spy who loved me, but I don’t think he cares. 🤨
In “You Only Live Twice,” Charles Gray served Sean Connery a “stirred, not shaken.” And no reshooting! Sacrilege!
It is the joke that he mixed them up.
One of my favourite compilations ❤
I love the lady's confidence at the bar... 🎉
shake weight, not stirred.
Really It's very iconic
Good video👍
Missing vodka Martini in Skyfall with Berenice Marloe at Macau's casino

"Shaken, Not Stirred" is a hallmark that distinguishes Bond films in a distinctive manner.
Love the compilation of all the martnis scenes✨️! The Spy Who Loved Me came out it in 77" instead of 69"
thanks for your feedback bro 🙏❤🍸
James Bond is handsome and elegant in every movie!
A really good compilation!

😆

what a creative idea im a big fan of bond😍
I remember a radio talk show many years ago, they discussed why it is shaken and not stirred.
When it is shaken it homogenizes the mixture. If it is stirred the lighter liquor floats to the top and changes the taste of the drink.
I prefer it stirred, because shaking bruises the ice which ruins the mouthfeel
Iconic!
always shaken, never stirred
Oh My God! The series of my childhood
Christ, Dalton's are like a precision missile strike. What a boss.
Nice Work
Very well sir vodka martini shaken not stirred
Such an icon.
What a fantastic compilation of the classic 'shaken, not stirred' moments! James Bond and his Vodka Martinis are as iconic as it gets.

It's kind of wild that Roger Moore never actually said it despite such a long tenure, it was always other people who said it/ordered it for him.
That was my best movie that year 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Didn't the skyfall movie have a scene, i vaguely remember him in a Chinese bar moment
I'm not a drinker, does it make any difference whether it's shaken or stirred?

Martini is a classic

Supposedly, there is more air mixed in with the vodka when it is shaken, which also affects the taste.
@@marzzz1 So shaken makes it taste better?

In the books he had it stirred instead of shaken, but the line was switched for the movies

A single tear. The burden you all just inherited. There is always one. You will pass on many.
The Spy Who Loved Me was released in 1977, not 1969.
The last time I drunk a Martini, I was quite wasted.
yeah it's a strong drink lol
