Greetings Gringo, thanks for taking a look. Yep, green pork does have is quite inviting huh? Definitely will be trying this again once I find better bacon to hold the peppers together.
'Tis a sad, sad day when a Canon EOS dies. We shed a tear here in the NNitKU. But we're reminded of the fact that Tango Joe is back, and his Pickleback Pigtails were outta this world (despite the wonky bacon... Wright brand bacon. It's the way-to-go). Great seeing the world renowned poet Sal, too. "What aroma bursts from yon Weber? Behold! 'Tis Brined Pork"... And all that Jazz...
Hey SmokeyGoodnessGuy! The EOS still shoots still, yet won't record video, very disappointing. While meeting with Sal down in the Sunshine State we came up with a collaboration idea and it was all down hill from there. I may rethink retirement.
Hey Joe 👋🏼 I hope you’re doing really well, I’m glad to see a video by you. I’m not on TH-cam much anymore because my little man takes up so much of my time but I occasionally check in and I’m glad I did today. Those look fantastic, Sal knows some great recipes that’s for sure! Looks delicious.
Bacon wrestling? Is that a thing? Sign me up! And you need a better source for bacon. This video was a hoot and we enjoyed hanging with you and Peggy. What else is there to say but Rock On Tango Joe!
After such a super time hanging out with you and Mrs Rootboy we are already looking into heading back down your way. I have to check out your head's up on finding some good bacon at ALDI Rock On Rootboy
Pretty cool you met up with Sal. PAPA's not big on pickles, but loves #bacon #ribs and #weberkettle Good to experiment. Wow, the look of them turned out excellent. Take Care Tango Joe
So good to see a new video from you Joe. I miss your humor and fine cooking skills. And dude, those dope looking sunglasses!!! Wow!!!! Very cool looking my friend. Those pigtails looked mighty fine. I may have to try some of that Pickleback. BTW, we still have some great bacon here in Austin if you're interested in swinging down South in the future. I enjoyed seeing Sal in your video also. Glad you guys got to hang out in Florida for a bit. Cheers to ya my brother and hope to see you and wifey again soon!!!!
Greetings Troy, thanks for all the grand comments my brother. First off, it was great to be able to meet up with Sal and his lovely bride. You and I have a couple of chances to hangout and it's always been a great time. Mrs Tango & I really need to get down to the Lone Star State for sure. Glad you like my steampunk shades.
Never had pickleback, but sure had my share of drinking pickle juice from the jars! Love it.....got to try it with bourbon now. Oh, and cooking with it too :) "Bacon Wrestling" should be a new olympic sport.... if ribbon dancing and synchronized swimming can be in there then so can bacon! Yes, finding good quality healthy cut, meaty streaky bacon has fallen off the grid for some time now. All we get is falling apart, hyper expensive fat strips~I'm with you on that Joe. That sliced open pigtail looked fantastic! Good deal you came outta retirement.....stay with here on the not-so-dark side!
Hey John, good to see you. Been a pickle fan for ages and pickle brine is something everyone should try. The bacon has been so sad lately, like you say 'falling apart, hyper expensive fat strips'. Tess says try beef bacon, and if I can find some you know I'll be there.
THUMBS UP! Glad to see you making videos. Sal is a hoot and a great cook. LOL! He can be really creative. Will be checking out his video. They turned out good and will check out the Pickleback. I know its all about the pork but you may want to check out beef bacon, it is meatier and may wrap better? Take care Joe.
HI Tess, thanks for the thumbs up, truly appreciated. It was such a good time meeting RootBoy in person, very cool. Let me know if you try prickleback. Could even make more pickled eggs!
Pickleback is awesome with whiskey and you’re right, makes a perfect brine too! Despite the bacon conundrum, those looked delicious! Nice twist on the pig tails Joe. Seriously great collab between the two of you! Have a fantastic weekend brother! 🍻🍻
Hey Charlie, I thank you for taking the time to check thus out. The 'conundrum' caused be the sub par bacon was overshadowed by how good these were Have a great weekend
Sal sent me...glad he did. This was a great cook, no doubt. But duude you are hilarious, I enjoyed your sense of humor. To answer your question: Kroger has decent thick cut bacon. Also hit up Costco...large batches but freezes well. BAAAACON!!!!! 🥓
Hey Sal, thank you very much. After so long away it was fun to have some chuckles on camera. This past weekend I did head over to Costco and got some bacon. It is pretty good, way better than what's been available lately.
Pickleback is great with Jameson Irish Whiskey :-) YAY< there's SAL :-) To Bacon or not to Bacon? Kermit The Frogs fingers smell like Bacon :-) Your Tango Spices RULE!!!!!!! Joi and I love Wright Brand Bacon :-) Hey Joe those ribs looked really delicious, a "BIG" thumbs up :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Hey Tom, good to see ya. Hope all is well in the Lone Star State. Pickleback is a great brine for pork, I may try some on chicken next. Only been in n HEB once, great store.
Hey Joe I really enjoyed your video and the whole collaboration with Sal! Y'all are awesome and were some of the most important inspiration for me to start making videos! Bacon sure is a hit or miss down here in Florida also. I'll be looking for that pickle brine or experimenting with my own if I have to. Delicious video Bud! Have an amazing weekend!
Thanks Rob, this was fun to do. Sal has me thinking about ending my retirement from video making. You can find Pickleback in the mixer section of most liquor stores. It's quite versatile. Have a super weekend.
What a fabulous collab I can't believe I missed it, maybe I'd had a few too may adult beverages at the time because I think I remember this...WOW Joe sensational cook and what an awesome collab, so Sal likes bacon Huh?😅🤣😂
Greetings Patrick. This was a great cook with RootBoy and was quite tasty. Even after a few adult beverages it would be grand. Yep, he does like bacon!
Greetings again@@PaddyJoeCooking, not sure why your message has not made it through. Sent you a message on facebook, though it seems you are not there much.
Hey Joe! Great to see you do another video! I feel ya on the bacon conundrum. These days I rarely cook with bacon because it's mostly fat and what's left after cooking is pitiful! I've checked my local butcher shops and the price they're charging is highway robbery! Next time I'd try some prosciutto!
Greetings Tom. Thanks to Sal for getting me back on camera, good thing I have a face for radio. Yeah, the bacon situation has been nasty, too fatty and too expensive. RootBoy said ALDI has decent bacon so I have some in the fridge, we shall see.
Hey looks good buddy! Root boy posted your video ! I just done 3 half wild boars about 20 lbs per half brined over night in a apple cider vinegar brine. I love the pickled taste! I videoed the highlights lol! Just subbed to you. Good videos!
