  • Hey everybody, if you don’t know, my name is Rick and I have a traditional hot rod speed parts company. www.noblespeedequipment.com link in bio . I don’t know how many sets semi and fully tailored I’ve made over the past 2.5 years … close to 300 probably more ?!? This is how I do it , what I use , and what I look out for. I want you to know that it’s not difficult and you should make your own custom wireset. Even if you don’t get the material from me I’m more than happy to help just send me a message. - Rick #traditionalhotrod #hotrod #noblespeedequipment #classiccars #kustom #diy #flatheadford #earlyfordhotrod #antiquecars #modelaford #traditionalhotrod #sparkplugs #sparkplugwires #ignitionwire #lacuquredwire #vintage #oldskool

    Clean, easy, effective!
Tech question: In a situation where someone has points but might want to upgrade to electronic in the future can you use the spiral core wire with points or should it always be solid core for points spiral for electronic?

@@HouseofChop great question, you can use a suppression core wire with points for sure. Auto makers started using supression core wire in the late 50s and early 60s as radios became more popular in cars and people wanted less interference. So supression wire can be used with points. The things I would look out for are : use a spiral core wire with low ohms 500/ft or less. As suppression core wire ages the resistance increases. Points don’t like the higher resistance that’s why most points wire sets are copper core which offer almost not resistance at the lengths we are using for spark plugs wires. But on average a suppression core wire set is almost 2x the cost so if you have points take advantage of a more economical wire set and your points will thank
      You too.
