  • In this edition of Abandoned Iceland, we visited Jökulsárlón and found a handful of Icelanders, expats and one seal roaming around. No one else. It was truly incredible. If you like us, like and subscribe-if you really like us, join our High Five Club: grapevine.is/h...

Thanks to www.gocarrenta... for providing the vehicle for our tours in Iceland and www.islandshot... for the accommodation.

Thank you for making these great videos. The fact that they are made and narrated by local journalists makes them very special in my opinion. Also the current situation gives you a unique opportunity of showing those places, that we all love so much, in their natural state, without crowds. Thank you!

I suppose you tube is the best way to see Iceland, when avoiding tourists. Thank you for capturing this! and so far it is free! Awesome! Thanks!

Very enjoyable with you narrating it, especially. Your dog is beautiful, love the name Polly! Will look forward to other videos. Thanks so much. 👍

My nostalgia brought me to this video.
I had the privilege to see the sunrise at Diamond Beach and the lagoon on early October 2016. Almost no people, and the sky looked wonderful that day. I'm so happy to see this place again, almost as empty as I found it that day. Thank you for sharing.

That rock or whatever it is that looks like a ship ran aground and the prow sticks up at a sharp angle! It is amazing! Bad as the Plague is it is wonderful to see the sights now. I hope the people can get back to work and being paid now. I wish now I hadn’t given my Iceland Cookbook written by a lady in Reykjavik about ten years ago.

Although I am a tourist I think Iceland is more beautiful without me. Sadly.

Well, we miss you though. The streets are painfully empty these days. Also, tourism in Iceland wasn't that crowded. Keep in mind that we can fit all human kind on Vatnajökull Glacier alone. So there is enough room (www.visindavefur.is/svar.php?id=49130 - this is the official homepage of university of Iceland that answers questions from people and we often use those scientist for our "ask a scientist" column in our magazine).

Thank you for sharing Valur...I live in North Wales UK, we have a mountain area...but the popular places are so full of people right now, but fortunately locals know the quiet places.....is it like that in Iceland....beautiful places that tourist generally don't go?

That girl really wanted to take Polly 😂 It’s so wild to see Jökulsárlón deserted like that... Thanks for another great video. FYI the Kría is called “Arctic tern” in English. And yes, the “diamonds” on diamond beach seem to be larger and more spectacular in late Summer/Fall.

9:00 May-June is the Iceland summer, when icebergs have already started their melting season. If you YT::: (Winter-Jökulsárlón-Glacier Lagoon) you'd see that during November-March, the entire area is an iceberg/glacier!!!

Thanks for taking us again to a very beautiful place in Iceland. It's quite of a little compensation for not being able to visit this year - probably since we are staying with our grand parents whom we do not want to put into any risk.

A lot of tourists must be very rich to go on holiday to Iceland!!!! I only went there the once 7 years ago where I spent £30 for a meal what a joke!! I love going to arctic regions but Scandinavia is so expensive even Finland is costly where I went to earlier this year b4 the COVID-19 crisis, that is why Im thinking of going to Russian Lapland next time, hopefully it will be cheaper a similar price to Scotland maybe!!!
Don't get me wrong Iceland is a stunning country, where else would you drive by one of the largest ice caps in the world and see mini icebergs drifting from its lake to the Atlantic Ocean.
