Lois is actually to blame for Larry's downward spiral. She learns of his villainy and keeps it to herself, not even telling HIS FATHER. She allows thing to escalate, resulting in Lex's death. The mistake was Luthor marrying Lois.
This story is so insane, it's practically a work of genius. Nice to know that approximately 20 years of happy marriage means absolutely nothing to Lois!
Wow...she jumped off a cliff? Lmao, I love the comics of this era. It's all so random. Thank you Sasha, I always love how far back you dig into comic history.
The funny thing about Lois marrying these guys is that they always get kids. And the kids grow and for Superman is like no time has passed, as if they got them in the mail or by stork.
Yes. For example, video on "Lois marries Satan" in issue Superman's Girlfriend #103! OR "Lois Lane marries Jimmy Olsen" in issue Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen Vol 1 #21 OR Do a video on the newspaper comic strip in the late 1940s, decided to do a twist - have "Clark Kent (NOT SUPERMAN) marry Lois Lane!" & Lex Luthor tries to keep Lois from marrying Clark.
Surprised they didn't do a "Lois Lane marries The Joker" story. And for a comic series called Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane she really seems to be dating and marrying anyone but him.
What's even funnier is that in other adaptations, Lex has either dated or married Lois or Lana, or both, and most of time before Clark can say his feeling for them. Superman: Unbound, more like Superman: Rebound, ha, got'em. (Larry is "Black Luthor"... You aren't tan Lex from Superman TAS or Harley Quinn's Lex, but this does have the same energy as Black Tom Cassidy.)
@@arpitpatel2781 What we need is him to return now with the increase in canon. After all, the last time Lex and Lois had a son, he ended up the most important person in the multiverse. Logically, Larry is Alexander's doppelganger.
I can't get mad at this pairing other than the way they seriously just phoned in that "omg this is all my fault for picking Lex" ending. I mean, I would have just jumped to "why did I have kids?!"
Well considering that Lois married Lex cuz she didn't get a superman ride, I'm pretty sure she isn't right in the head. Kinda reminds me of the robot chicken sketch, where Lois asks Clark to go back in time to record some tv drama.
Well, the comics code would have never allowed it but _damn_ do I wanna see a Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane parody comic of Lois marries Wonder Woman.
You know for as much as I don’t like the pairing, I don’t blame Superman for dating Diana (Wonder Woman) over Lois. At least she gets his super workload.
I love seeing Lex just start helping the world (I always thought that should be evil Lex's play in the comics...surpass Superman based on his mind alone in doing good except Superman would be fine with that so it'd just make Lex more angry) Also a evil Lois and Lex story would be great.
Is there more of Lois with Lex out there? I ask because up until they bent backwards to send her back to Superman, I found it interesting. Plus, in some ways it could open up the potential for Lois to go evil and possibly lure Lex back into being a villain with her...just saying, lol
several Elseworld stories do have them married for various reasons, the biggest one I can think of would be Superman: Red Son, where Lois has been married to Lex for quite a few years by the time Superman (who crashed in the Ukraine in the 30s in this universe) meets her.
There are at least 2 other pre-crisis stories where they get married. One was an imaginary story in Lois Lane 65. Lois turns evil and marries Lex. They steal the Mona Lisa, and later perform music that is supposed to kill Superman or at least put him in a coma or something. I remember really liking that story at the time. The other was in Superman Family 172. This one isn't an imaginary story. Lex saves the earth from some kind of meteor shower (that I think he created) that would have destroyed the planet. He gets a full pardon and ends up marrying Lois, only to find out it was all a hoax to get out of prison or something. The more I think about it, they probably only almost got married. Sorry I'm not clear on the details, but I was something like 8 when I read it. I'm sure there are others.
Well, the pre-Crisis Earth-3 also had a married heroic Luthor and Lois. They too had a son. It's pretty significant to Crisis on Infinite Earths and Infinite Crisis.
I love that she jumped off a cliff so she could get to work on time. Real moment - does Lois actually get kidnapped all the time or is this just a ploy because she was late. Also I want Zatanna content and Lous marrying content, give it all ❤
I think my favorite thing about this issue is Lois running late for work so she jumps off a cliff thinking Superman will swoop in, save her, and fly her to work, and instead just slams against the rocks and is mortally wounded. Like, I wanted a parody of that, whether done in a game/animation engine or made into an animatic or something. I just need to see Lois cooly plummeting off a cliff and then going "Oh shit" seconds before ragdolling on the rocks.

Hopefully in more than just imaginary stories. Burning questions from this: 1: were there any issues of this comic that weren't imaginary stories? 2: does this explain the end of Dr. Who dragonfire part one? Was the Doctor climbing off that cliff because he thought Superman would come along and help him down? 3: How did Otis take not being asked to be the best man? 4: Did Superman think 'and if Lana says no then I'll see Lori Lemaris is free.' How would she have taken to being a rebound rebound? As regards Lex and Lois, remember 2010-2011 action, in the story Paul Cornell wrote where Lex was the focus, and he had a robot Lois? They were a good duo. Wouldn't mind to see them bring her back.

I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree with Neil Gaiman about post-crisis Luthor being a thin version of Kingpin. Also, Lois at the end of the story takes no accountability whatsoever, blaming the marriage & not her being an honest wife by telling Lex about Larry's initial criminal tendencies.
Lex's businessman revamp stems from an appearance in an issue of Swamp Thing pre-crisis, where he is called in as a consultant on how to kill Swamp Thing. It was the coolest and most powerful he'd ever been portrayed. So much of post-crisis continuity loops back to Alan Moore.
I tell you, whenever Supes goes to outer space, Lois either kisses another horse, or marries superman's archnemesis. Also, in 6:40 you can see Luthor in full simp mode, so funny.

I would have LOVED to read a comic about Lois marrying evil businessman Luthor. Just imagine Superman's face when he goes to confront his nemesis and in his office, he finds Lois slowly turning the chair around saying: "Well well well... I bet now you regret not proposing to me. Also, Lex and I killed Lana so you can't marry her"
I love the hair! Sometimes I think that all the alternate Lois' are actually evil and she is in it for the long game and I am not to sure about the pre-Crisis Lois in the main universe. After Crisis she seemed to get on an even keel and be a bit more well rounded, not as flighty and wanting to marry everyone.
Is that where Smallville got the idea of having Lois date all of Superman's future Superfriends? She first dated Green Arrow. She flirted with Aquaman. But it was Lana who married Lex.
I love how all Silverage mens suits are never blue or black. But Green or purple or yellow. i grew up in the sixties and no one wore this until maybe 1968
Poor Lana Lang... she will always be in the friendzone. Superman only became interested in Lana once he knew for a fact that Lois moved on and that he has no chance with her lol.
Love these videos! I am a Superman/DC fan and I get most of my information from videos like this. Your hilarious interjecting commentary makes it all worth watching! It's like MST3K for the comic book world. And as always, the worse the story writing, the better the commentary. And man! The writing in the silver age was horrible (especially the character development), which makes your show even better. Thank you!
Lois' revelations certainly place her in such awkward relationships. What takes the cake is the literal jump off the cliff scenario. And what's this sloppy second with Lana? That's enough to give a girl a dreadful inferior complex. I must say, those imaginary stories were probably hashed together over a Friday evening happy hour after one too many drinks. Great going, guys. And Sasha, you keep sporting those wigs and eyewear, those are your brand, wear them proud.
Why does Lois regret so strongly? Because in this continuity, she genuinely loves Luthor. Things to remember; Firstly, Luthor was reformed before she married him, and genuinely (but only by outside influence). She doesn't regret reforming him, because she didn't. She regrets marrying him, because it leads directly to his death under the logic of this story. If she hadn't married this Luthor, he would both have continued aiding humanity, and more personally for grieiving Lois, he'd had still been alive. Likely, he would have found personal happiness elsewhere, given the whole benevolent super-genius thing. Secondly, Luthor WAS only reformed because of external influence. Clearly the story leans on the nature over nurture side of the debate, so without external influence, the genetic influence of the Luthor genes re-assert and their offspring "inevitably" leads their son astray despite both parents being at that point good people. Simply put, from the point of view of end-of-story Lois, marrying Luthor is cast as an act that she retrospectively realises was a selfish one. She traded immediate personal happiness in exchange for Luthor's life and the immense good that a benevolent super-genius-lex could have wrought over a longer life-span. Hinges on the idea of their offspring being fated to be evil, but the girl is grieving, so you've got to forgive some degree of unfair self-blame, honestly.
Also, like the hair today, the extra volume is nice. (I think the look works best with the glasses, I think for glasses off you'd probably do better with a slightly darker colour, without the frames to tie it together.)
Is there an Elseworlds/Imaginary story where Superman never makes it to Earth and Lex Luthor doesn't compete with Superman (i.e. be the person he always wanted to be)? Separate question: why did Luthor run for President in the early 2000s?
I think there was a sequel to this story. I'll investigate and get back to you. OK. Got it. The story continues in Lois Lane #46. (Also, check out the cover of Lois Lane #103.)

Him being overprotective makes sense he can't die but his friends can he must be scard for them all the time
Glasses off. Don't hide those pretty eyes.
The glasses help hide her secret identity
Unless she needs them to see or read... Functionality over aesthetics.
@@jackdark1377 True. I was assuming she did not need them to see or read.
Isn't she married
@@skinnylegend1542 I'm pretty sure she is.
Love your content your humor is on point, and my goodness you look amazing....glasses on lol
Love, Love, Love your hair today. Did you style it yourself? 💯👏💇♀️
This video made me realize how the good Lex Luthor is not as usual as the evil Superman trope, at least outside DC.
Damn u got everyone marrying Lois except SuperMan haha ! Lois is "for the streets"
Don't think I don't know the superfamily in the background
I would have LOVED to read a comic about Lois marrying evil businessman Luthor.
Just imagine Superman's face when he goes to confront his nemesis and in his office, he finds Lois slowly turning the chair around saying: "Well well well... I bet now you regret not proposing to me. Also, Lex and I killed Lana so you can't marry her"
I don't know about the glasses, but I'm digging the hair and clothes. Looking good! 😉
New subscriber, going to see if there is a kryptonite episode. I yearn for a live action Superman with an ant head
From the classic Lois Lane to Lois Lane leaving him behind arc is sorta satisfying.
Oh, John Byrne's Lex Luthor was still a genius. He just didn't do anything with it after founding Lex Corp.
The early seasons of Smallville felt like it was influenced by the Silver Age
I suscribed to your chanel today, Sasha. Mostyle cause your different hairstyles.
I love how all Silverage mens suits are never blue or black. But Green or purple or yellow. i grew up in the sixties and no one wore this until maybe 1968
Does everyone eventually marry Lois Lane? XD
Awsome comic character hair!!! Dark Phoenix & Medusa eat your heart out.
Poor Lana Lang... she will always be in the friendzone. Superman only became interested in Lana once he knew for a fact that Lois moved on and that he has no chance with her lol.
"I just found out that my day was a major criminal scientist because in this future we may have aircars but we don't have Google."
Superman is so worried about Lex going straight that he decides to go marry Lana? By what he said it sounds more like he wanted to marry Lex.
Thank you!
7:36 THIS IS THE THING! THIS IS THE LOIS COMIC PANEL YOU KEEP BRINGING UP🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lois' revelations certainly place her in such awkward relationships.
Just discovered your channel and I'm absolutely hooked
Is there an Elseworlds/Imaginary story where Superman never makes it to Earth and Lex Luthor doesn't compete with Superman (i.e. be the person he always wanted to be)? Separate question: why did Luthor run for President in the early 2000s?
Wow...good Luthor is sooo smooth with Lois. There was a real soap opera vibe to stories in the 60s.
I think there was a sequel to this story. I'll investigate and get back to you. OK. Got it. The story continues in Lois Lane #46. (Also, check out the cover of Lois Lane #103.)
Your whole outfit makes me think of anything "Flaming Hot" flavored. It's a great outfit! Also Glasses on!
This is actually quite a nice tragic love story I think. Of course, silly in a way, but for what it is... It's nice seeing people be happy together.
