excellent idea. You really are saving the planet. Imagine if everyone did this? 1) Less waste 2) sense of accomplishment and 3) self reliance. Great job!!!
That’s the best sharpener I have ever seen. Most leave little pieces of wood on the pencil somewhere. And I thought you would have to sharpen that roller. Sweet job. Also the conversion was the best.
The motor which u used 12 volt in the upgrade. The difference in it was the carbon brush which touches the commutator of armature. Other motor has carbon brush hand inside the motor this as out. Even my motor has carbon brush in but the carbon brush hand is broken from so I want to upgrade it can u give some ideas for the carbon brush
It obvi what @gearshow meant. @adeeb momen No need to point out things like this. You commenting on an obvious language translation error is gratuously petty.
@@troyna77 it’s not really a translation error when it literally said “dull” on the original sticker. I’m just pointing out that dull and drill have different meanings. And because he went the extra effort to print a brand new sticker in the first place!
@@troyna77 Actually I think it's a positive thing to comment, especially the way he did. He learned a new word or atleast got a better understanding that way.
@@gear_show You can mount green led and Red led in front and add a simple voltmeter to show when battery is load and empty and need recharge. Replace the switch with one who can take motor curent easy for long usage to keep it simple or can use electronic switch for the job but battery will be empty over time.
What is the purpose of the drill mode? Seems like it is a setting where you can waste a pencil. Pretty satisfying though, I've had my fair share of teenie tiny short pencils.
National wasn’t bought out. It was always the original name of the company and was used as the home brand, but as the international export brand name Panasonic became world recognized, the home brand National was retired to consolidate recognition. I still occasionally see an old National sign here and there around Tokyo
@9:10 you didn't scare me this time with that slo mo spark. Hahaha !!! I still remember the time you did that the first time in one of your previous videos.
12:50 think you mean "dull", which is the opposite of sharp, not "drill" :) I don't think there are pencil sharpeners made with a setting to just eat up the entire thing, it's probably to get a thicker end point on the pencil, for thicker lines (oh no I just realised you made a label for it too xD)

Thank you so much, I'm happy to hear that :D
As a kid sharpening pencil is one of the most beautiful thing in my life of course manually with hand nice restore
I think my man's gone a little crazy with the batteries.
I like these old Japanese gadgets, you can see the craftsmanship in their work even 20 years ago
Love the different type of restore. And the overkill motor and battery upgrade. Everyone needs a portable electric pencil sharpener. Cheers.
Great restoration & upgrade....
........................ From INDIA.
This is a bit different than what you usually restore and I'm liking it a lot! Great job as always!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it.
14:05 You have "DRILL" where it should say "DULL".
I'm here for this 8:14😎 Also, watching that thing shread an entire pencil was pretty satisfying. Great work!
Love it when you convert things to cordless/rechargable great video like always Gearshow!
I'm glad you love it, thank you!
I've just finished work and then there's a video from Gear Show !? It couldn't get any better ...

lt was great to watch videos like this again❤👍
It said “Dull” not “Drill” Understandable since English is not your first language. Nice upgrade.
My bad, I'm sorry about this mistake.
@@gear_show I wouldn't even worry about it. That was a great idea! And the sharp function is really clever. Keeps you from wasting material.

Please do a separate video regarding the batteries, are they calculated 3x6x9v or 4x8x12v?
The battery pack is 12.6V 3000mAh, 4.2V x 3 = 12.6V
Wow that thing really sharpens well!!!!😍😍😍
Great work! - Cool Restorations
Thank you very much!
Sir, you've done a very good job !

It's actually "dull" before he changed the label I guess but it doesn't really seem to make a big difference
Yes, it is dull mode.
Yes, it is dull mode.
Well done. Excellent work!
14:15 You can use it for years after this update
OMG! The company "National" has been bought out years ago.
Truely vintage.

Why you didn't brush that at 3:46 ? just make sure that dust to get off
it is excelent 😯
WOW cool👍👍👍
Where can I buy this type of battery? On Aliexpress and similar sites there are many fake ones.
Полевиком микрик разгрузить, тогда будет правильно. А так он сгорит в скором времени от такого тока.
Wonderful and beautiful
Thank you! 😊
3.27 is that transparent tray a cover of gramophone

You're welcome :D
My compliments👍
Where did you get the tool from that you use for shrinking the heat shrink? Looks very handy ;)
Nice one🖤! I was disappointed at first that you were going to leave the dial lable as it is😂😂@
Edit:English
Fancy sharpner sir
Oh, thank you
Un trabajo fabuloso !
Enhorabuena !
I absolutely loved the vlog, it needs a new home in Australia with me lol....
Good work. However, I think the current capacity of the switch contact is insufficient.
Okay let see it after using it for a while
That was my first thought when I saw that
It doesn’t look like the motor will draw too much current, I can’t see it needing to work hard just sharpening pencils.
С моими детьми вот такую штуковину и нужно: чтобы карандаши свои сами точили. Только режим "dril" заблокировать.
2:52 Is that a dust cover from a turntable?
Interesting to watch makes a change from the usual fare.
Yes, thank you!
Интересная переделка👍

This type of sharpener was my childhood's dream. Unfortunately, my mon didn't want to spend $80 for it. I only got a little pencil knife.
Good stuff 👍
Glad you enjoyed
u r the best ♥
Excellent work, how do you get the parts, labels and all your supplies? Keep it up, your videos are inspiring.
Thank you so much! I made labels, and the parts from electronic shop.
Excellent Work !
Do you work for Makita? This seems like something they would add to their LXT lineup.
No I don't work for Makita.
Cool
Thank you for come back
Super videos
