    This older vid just popped up on my google youtube feed. I just bought my first scooter, the NIU kqi2 pro, Best Buy had it for $379.00. For that price, it seemed like a good place to start. It's been great fun so far. I was really debating and still am on getting a full suspension and will probably do that within the next year. Your site/channel helped me to make the decision, thanks!

    Only two scooters in this video are even an option for me. That’s the two EMOVE scooters because they both have adjustable handlebars. Every video I’ve watched seems to neglect this fact, even EMOVE’s own website doesn’t make much mention of it (or bother to tell you the full range of said handlebars). I’m barely 5” 2’ with shoes on. Most scooters are way too tall for a shorter female, or even a shorter male, but that doesn’t mean these people aren’t looking for scooter and having a really hard time of it. It took me forever to realize some eScooters have adjustable handlebars because nobody ever mentions it! It’s frustrating! We are not all tall. I’m leaving this note here so maybe in future videos you can consider your shorter audience and let them know more info on the scooters best for them. 😊

    for long term use, dont waste your money on emove cruiser and touring. those are alibaba rebranded scooters same as Yume d5+ or Nanrobot d4+. these scooters have stem wobble after awhile, and the controllers tend to get faulty. best to buy quality brand like segway.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  ปีที่แล้ว

      The EMOVE Cruiser’s stem latch is a completely different style from the Yume or Nanrobot. It’s definitely a good idea to check fasteners on any scooter once a month or more if ridden daily though, to prevent anything from loosening up. -Paul

    I guess you can consider me an newbie. Got the FreegoEV ES10 my first scooter in August. (Stay away from it, it was too much work repairing constantly). I tried the Etow GT and it was 27lbs, 750 watss, solid honeycomb tires and gets about 27 miles, top speed 28 to 30, was fun to ride. Even though the ES10 was 2000 watt dual motors it cause me so many headaches electrically.

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Replaced a ET Wow GT-SE with a Niu Kqi3 Max and exchanging due to a bad front brake. Scraping sound like wheel or rotor is not mounted/balanced properly so the brake pads make contact with a rhythmic sound at low speeds. But at high speed is sounds like metal on metal similar to a train making an emergency stop. Thankfully, seller says they'll exchange since less than 30 days, otherwise it would be off to Niu leaving us with a sad Christmas 😭😭😭

    I'm new but I am also a bicycle commuter. I find because I move my body much less on the e-scooter it's easier to wear more gear. I got a full face (chinbar) Mountain bike helmet from a bike shop and some knee/elbow pads and wrist guards from Amazon. I also got a mirror for the scooter to be more aware of cars around me. I commute on a busy road with a painted bike lane.

    I recently purchased an Emove Cruiser and crashed on the third day of riding (my fault entirely, scooters aren't made for mud). Thankfully, I was wearing a helmet and only got some minor scrapes, but I learned something important about the scooter when the only damage I discovered was a cracked voltmeter and fender. The biggest takeaway I can give about the Cruiser is that Voro has some great priorities. They made some sacrifices in material quality (I've stripped bolts and scratched some paint off the soft frame in my attempt to waterproof it), but they didn't cheap out on the most important parts, like the battery, motor, and suspension. If I had to design a high-end commuter scooter, I would've done the same thing. Learning about scooter maintenance is part of the fun, right? In all seriousness, I'd still wholeheartedly recommend the Cruiser, but there's some danger when referring to it with near-total optimism.

    I had the original Uscooter (etwow) back in 2014
    I'm 6 1, 225 lbs.
    Speed was 16, kick for 19mph
    Distance was mind boggling 24-25 miles with KERS Regen braking.
    28lbs
    In 2021 I ride buddies Kaabo mantis 8 (41moh with dual motor)
    2000 watt (1000+1000)
    Used one motor at a time fur overall distance (33mi) Bec 9-12 hour charge is 😜
    Drop it down to 25ish mile range if you drop the hammer 🔨 in dual motor mode (mofo mode)
    Not for woosies
    I rode in traffic next to pickup 🛻 doing max 41 mph for about 5 blocks.
    Sounds fun but one mistake and damn you're 🚑 🩸

    The unagi is PERFECT for new riders cause of the subscription and after putting well over 500 miles on my unagi in just 3 months (the odometer konked out on me 😂) Ive been spoiled by a 30 pound weight and a 20 mph top speed and I'm not willing to compromise on those points but I'm also sick of only getting 6 miles of range (I can't even get the 8.5 you guys get and I'm not a big guy at all) so it looks like the u scooters gt sport might be the only option for me on this list despite the ride quality (as an unagi rider it's not like I'm not used to mediocre ride quality)
    Are there any other scooters with these qualifications that might have a better ride quality? I've also been looking at the fluid mosquito which I noted isn't on this list
    You guys rock!

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Fluid Mosquito is also a great scooter. It costs a $100 less than the U-Scooters GT-Sport because it uses generic cells rather than Samsung cells, and it has a slightly lower top speed, but I don't miss the last 1 or 2 mph when I ride the Mosquito. -Paul

    My first scooter is the Unagi. Very easy and forgiving. However, it really needs a suspension system. So much vibration on bumps and cracks. Feels like an earthquake sometimes. Good power, but bad ride quality. It gets really sketchy at 15+ mph, and starts wobbling. 7/10 in my opinion. Just badly needs a suspension system.

    Sorry to necro an 8 month old comment section, but...
    The Xiaomi is kind of represented in the Swagtron line(swagger 5 elite/boost), at least when I was looking into user repairability before buying the swag, xaiomi m365 was tacked on parenthetically as a sister scooter.
    It's dirt cheap and build quality reflects that, but I got a used swagger 5 boost(300w) from a local market place for $175. Even with the issues I've had it's been good enough as a learner, and has me researching/deal hunting for my next scooter/small e-bike(which is what brought me to your nice vid). Been seeing refurbished ones in the $230-250 range from their website - 18 mph on flat(170 lbs), claimed range is 11 mi, but I haven't done anything close to that yet.

    6:54 Says Apollo updates their app often... it hasn't been updated in 4 months. ESG promotes companies far more than it objectively critiques them.

      You’re right! It turns out that it has been 4 months since the last update! For fun, I looked at all of the updates just now. There have been 11 updates over the course of 17 months. So that’s about one update every 1.5 months on average. -Paul

    Obky thing I wasn't to found of with the nui scooters is the lack of work you're able to do yourself. It'd like the iPhone of scooters. They don't want you doing any work they only want you to ship out to them to fix🤷‍♂️ or else you'll void your warranty in some areas.main reason I switched from a kqi1 pro🤷‍♂️

    Why do I feel that ESG has a beef with Segway, They bash the Ninebot Max every chance they get.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Ninebot MAX is the scooter by which other scooters are measured. It’s a testament to how successful that model was. The G30 is getting a little old now though and we hope to see something new from them in 2023. Segway makes some great scooters. Check out our review of the GT2 and you’ll see some love for Segway! -Paul
