I agree with you, Jeff. For the money, this little camera offers great value and features. people get hung up too much on whether it is a true Cine camera. For less than 2k it blows out a lot of cameras, including 3.5k Pro video cameras.... It's a tool and if it fits your purpose then it's all that matters.
It's interesting that you seem to be using the FX30 in reasonably low light conditions, which seems to the single biggest complaint about the camera. Do have a target ISO, that you think the footage becomes unusable at? Are you running any noise reduction on the footage in post?
Hey! I didn’t do any noise reduction in post at all for this video, some of the shots towards the end are at iso 4000 which you start to see grain, however a lot of the iso 2500 shots look great! It’s all about real world testing and iso 2500 seems alright as far as image quality
Question: Does the FX30 shoot AEB/BRACKET photos for Real Estate HDR Photography? And if it does how many BKTS 3 or 5? And finally any examples you may share thx in advance.
So I did a video using both lenses you can find in my fx30 playlist. It’s going to depend on the properties you film. I’ve been doing a lot of apartment complexes lately so the 11mm had been great. If you are filming massive properties than the 15mm for sure
Hi there, i would like to ask regarding time code 9:23.. is your iso more than 2500? Cause normally the lighting of the reception i shoot is usually these kind of condition, and im still debating should i take the fx30 or not.. 😅
Hello and thank you for all these valuable explanations. I also have an FX30 and totally share your enthusiasm even if this camera is not perfect. Could you explain what settings you are using? I appreciate the quality of the images you get with this camera. Do you film in Slog3 or S-Cinetone? Do you use the Cine EI? If Slog3, are you using the +1.7 - 2 setting? Do you use log ? Thank you !!
Congratulations, good video. Also for me it became my principal camera but unlike you I use the Sony 10-20 f4 not for vlogging but it for run and shoot with the original M2 Crane gimbal. Instead the Sigma 18-35 1.8 (very heavy) I use the Sony 16-55 f2.8.
shooting in low light comes down to lens selection on the FX30, you really need to have a 1.8 lens Minimum, if you can get a 1.4 or even 1.2 even better. Also using a denoiser for even higher ISO's like above 4000 etc should be done. In Davinci resolve they make it really easy
@@ReachFilms Also when you use this camera use native ISO for best results 800 and 2500 at night. Never use 2400 or 2600 at night always use 2500 and you will have the cleaner image
It’s a solid camera, but the system hasn’t been out long enough for me to make a justification to switch to it, also the fact it doesn’t match out of the box using log with the higher end Panasonic cameras. The phase detection is a HUGE upgrade for them though.
Keep going man. Your videos are so frekin useful, there is a silver play button waiting for you.
Thank you for the kind words! Much appreciated

Great review Geoff! I’ve been loving seeing you crush it with the FX30.
Thanks Josh! Yeah it’s been an interesting journey with this camera

Me too ;)
Makes great sense and works great alongside the A7Siii.

I love it! It’s not a perfect camera but it’s a great everyday tool

It doesn’t unfortunately, for that you would need to get a a6700
So you can put a regular SD card in the other card slot? And out HDMI you can stream 4K24?
You can use an SD card in both card slots, out of the hdmi up to 4k60 is supported
@@ReachFilms thanks!
Thanks for the review! What lens did you find best for your real estate work paired with the FX30?

The 10-20 seems like a really solid lens! I hope to try it one day, I know I will be hooked on it for the weight Savings and versatility
It’s a Great camera, but for some reason I’m just having so much trouble shooting at night with the grain

Value for money surely goes to the Panasonic S5II 🔥
