@@SlipjointSawyer your favorite models seem to change every few weeks. The Compact was your so called favorite. The Yeoman would be my favorite 3 layer 91mm SAK but it's overpriced and over hyped and it's over priced because it's over hyped just like the 84mm Alox Voyageur is. For in pocket comfort and practicality the Compact is still the most optimal SAK. I like my Yeoman but I don't carry it and I always have a magnifying glass on me because of the SwissCard Lite in my ejector card wallet
@@MrPsiman The compact is my all time favourite to carry! Climber is a favourite for sentimental reasons 🤘🏻 but yeah they change alot! I've had a yeoman made up for me as I'm not willing to pay stupid money for one 😂
@@SlipjointSawyer I had one made for me with all 90's parts and era correct mini screwdriver. Many aren't era correct configured Yeoman's. Mine is and it cost me $115 which is a pretty good price
@@SlipjointSawyer The Compact is my favorite 91mm to carry and I have it in black with black tooth pick and black tipped tweezers. I wish they made black tipped pen and black mini screwdrivers but this looks very sharp understated and zen
Love the Climber…! A fantastic choice for edc urban carry… The NZ climber has got to be the perfect souvenir..😎 Please you’re back home safe and hope you’re not suffering too much with jet lag…! Bet the Buster reunion was full on..! 😀 Fantastic review, catch you soon 😎👊🏻
I appreciate the SAK but having spent a few decades as a workman I can't give up my multi tool. When you need pliers, they suddenly become worth their weight in gold. Carrying both would be redundant. Last weekend I paid $15 for an old Camilus TL-29 at a flea market. Having scrubbed off the rust and oiled it? There are no daylight gaps, great snap, backspings strong to the point of excessive. Excellent grade of true high carbon steel. I happen to have an old leather sheath that fits the TL as if custom made. My new knife love. 😅
I have 2 climbers, Silvertech and the Ukraine(bought for the scale colours). Cheaper than a Compact and better tools. Popped a eyeglass screwdriver into the corkscrew and inserted some magnets beneath the parcel hook(recommended by a youtuber)
@@Ernie-on2vf I don't really have a single favourite SAK. But the ones I carry most days are the Tinker and the Swiss Champ ( in a Victorinox belt pouch ). Although I'm enjoying carrying the Explorer instead of the Tinker at the moment.
@@Ernie-on2vf Not that many tbh. Eleven Victorinox, one Wenger, and a Swiza. I do have a couple of the Boker versions as well, but that's it. I have a larger collection of UK legal traditional slip joints though. I also have a handful of locking knives. Plus I also collect fixed blades ( I have a bit of a liking for Bowies in particular lol ).
I do like the Silvertech scales, but I have to admit taking them off my Huntsman in favour of hi-vis yellow Plus scales. If I hadn’t done that I would’ve lost my SAK in the grass many times! 🙄
Very cool to see this collection of different Climbers!! It is awesome the whole "New Zealand" is an inlay! Excellent Super SAK Saturday!
Glad you enjoyed it!
it's a classic that goes back over a 100 years and it was the first SAK I ever got in the 80's. It's still under $30 on Amazon
Honestly love it! Definitely my favourite model
