Not sure about the software but the hardware is boss, I love the design. Wide as a phone and bigger as a tablet exactly how I would like it. The Z fold 3 looks like a baby next to it. Great first impressions video mate!! Stay safe.
I have a huawei phone and the software is not fare from that, so I can use it after some time but I still prefer the basic android skin like we can find in the Google pixel phone
Software is fine if it isn’t buggy and laggy I like to customization it has Much better than one ui All though vivo only giving 2 years is trash when Samsung will release the next fold giving 4 years
I think this is the best folding smartphone till now. Well done Vivo. Also I saw few languages including my own native language being there. Surprising considering Origin OS isn't available everywhere. This is a phenomenal gadget all in all. Thanks.
I hope you have good luck with that. I wish they could figure out a way to bump these things to at least 5000, but it just never happens. Anyway with that charging power it won't be much of an issue!
I really wanna try something like this, I was nearly close to buy Z fold 3, but crease isn’t something I can bear… what do you surest about this phone worth considering?!
I find funny how VIVO phones comes with the option for Spanish language. I import the X70 Pro + and Origin OS is certainly a different flavor but it's alright. I would love to import this Fold too. Good vid, Ben.
Ben just finished watching! Another great hands-on first impressions video. I was really looking forward to this video!! For me I'm a big guy 6'6" about 300 with Big Hands. So the bigger form factor is more than welcome for me. Again, thanks for the great first impressions video! ✌
Been looking forward to this one! Finally a folding phone that’s like the Huawei Mate X2 but it has Google apps, isn’t outrageously expensive, and has a camera on the inside screen. I loved the Mate X2 because it has an actual size screen on the outside and a camera that isn’t too watered down from the flagships. The only thing this is really missing is water resistance but I feel like that’s a little bit nit-picky. I might need to get me one of these!
Thanks for the video. Always like your videos/reviews. I live in the US and very interested in getting a Vivo but just wondering how it would work on the AT&T network.
This is the best foldable phone so far (in terms of form factor and feature). Had used Z Fold 2 and Mix Fold before, the front screen is too narrow to type. Too bad there's not going to be a global version, had a few Chinese phones before, although they all came with GMS and Google services is usable with some tweaking, there are still some minor issues here and there on daily use (like location history, compatibility with Wear OS devices etc.).
Hey Ben, quick question if you had the chance to check it, does the inner display seem to have a polarizer layer or is it like the Z Fold 3? Meaning, does it work with polarized sunglasses at all angles or does it behave just like any other screen including the outside one?
Very detailed review. I love love love when you take the phones OUTSIDE and put them through their paces 🙂Different lighting scenarios number 2 favorite 🙂 Thank you ben 👍👍✌✌🙏🙏😁😁
Hi Ben, thanks for the great review! Just wondering, have you tried Honor Magic V? As we can't see in your video list. Most importantly, can we install GMS / Google Play Store with Honor Magic V??
Hey Ben, great review! I'm really on the verge of importing this phone, it looks really awesome, but I'm still a bit apprehensive about foldables since it's still a new-ish form factor. I'm mostly concerned about the wear, since it'll be imported, it'll be as if I don't have any insurance. For older foldables like the Mate X2, or even Fold 2, do you know if the inner screens look more worn out around the hinge over time? Also, I'm not too familiar with Vivo, I know they have amazing cameras, but what about build quality? All in all, I'd really love to make the jump to foldables, it's soooo much more exciting than regular slab form factor.
I've owned a vivo nex 3 for almost 3 years now. Solid in terms of reliability, battery great, but speakers and camera sucked. This one looks like they got those right. I might be ordering one myself after I see the full review.
I've been watching your reviews for many months now, especially your VIVO coverage. Have subbed to your channel and will wait for your full review before buying. I've confirmed with VIVO Singapore that they will NOT be bringing the phone in, so I will buy from a 3rd-party seller. Google Mobile Services is essential for me so I'm hoping there are few compatibilities issues. Looking forward to your full review Ben!
WELL SAID BEN! - Skip unboxing cos iPhone need to rework on alot of stuffs compared to its Android counterparts. Btw i really love your phone to phone comparison, esp the flagship level and in detail, esp the software part for photography. Can't wait to see the full review...
Very much appreciate your review... always the first!😁👍 I don't think Thailand would ever get this phone... 😅 but gotta say this is the best folding phone... boi, the crease looks a lot less than Fold 3! Thanks for the awesome review 😘
It looks good, but it's huge. The thing about big phones like this is, they're heavy, and over time your hand kind of gets tired of picking it up and handling it throughout the day. But I'm still interested in this device. I just have to wait and see what Xiaomi does with their Mi Mix Fold 2, which is right around the corner. I've also heard good things about the Z Fold 4. If Samsung can produce a lighter, thinner foldable with a wider outer display plus s-pen support, that might be a winner.
@@89CrazyAl- Headphones or earbuds won't solve the problem of your hands eventually getting tired of carrying around and using a weighty brick of a phone every day, as your daily driver. Samsung knows this too, which is why they're supposedly making the Z Fold 4 a little bit thinner and a little bit lighter.
@@Super-c00n Ah! Got it! How about a holster? That's what I utilize. I'm only trying to be solution helpful. I know different circumstances require different solutions. Have a good day.
hi do u know whether android auto is working fine? as I know china Rom that install Google play usually don't play well with android auto, but u did mention that the phone does actually comes with GMS just without the playstore? then I think the android auto should be working?
Hey Ben. Looking forward to your follow up on this phone. The picture results look good on the X. My only concern is the size. The water drop hinge phones fold flat but they are still slightly thicker then the Fold for some reason. In light of the reports Samsung is going lighter and slimmer, I'm not sure the majority of consumers want a heavy Foldable.
I'm looking into buying this one because I was about to jump on the Oppo find N, but seen the leaks for the X fold then I paused. Now I'm seriously interested in it. The only thing that holding me now is the compatibility with my Samsung Tizen watch, I've heard that Oppo find N doesn't play well with it. And I'm really hoping it would work. If you have any watch with Tizen Os could you test it for us? I'd appreciate that.
I've been waiting for this one and by an honest reviewer such as yourself Ben. I'm tempted to have one of these shipped here to Canada just not sure if my carrier Telus bands are supported fully. This x fold looks like it will kill even the upcoming z fold 4!
Hey bro, if I using this set outside of China. From your video, just go to vivo store and install Gmail app, and it will auto install Google play store right? But what about those usual google security patch which usually will receive in software update? How this works since is origin os? Is it origin os no security patch just like global android system? Will it be risky ? Thx bro for good review
@@bensgadgetreviews thx bro for ur reply. It looks like an awesome phone, but I'm wondering what happens if it breaks, is there some type of reliable warranty? That's the main thing keeping me from buying one. With my fold 4 and Samsung care + I can sleep at night lol
Looks really good Chinese brands make great stuff on par or better than Sammy or Apple but the fact, that their best stuff is almost nowhere to be found globally, really kills the hype around their products
Huawei once sell their best phone around the global but once the west realize it hurt their own product they started to ban huawei. Other chinese companies learned the lesson well it seems.
Nice unboxing and first impressions.. But reducing 10% of screen size and weight would make it similar to Z Fold 3.. And please do a comparison with Oppo find N on the quality of pictures.. Everyone bashes Z fold 3 but always compares other foldable with it only..
No one is going the Samsung route as it is poor design and other OEMs understand that even in a foldable you need a good front display as that will still be, fo most, the main display. Huawei always had the right design, with their Mate X, display on the outside and the Mate Xs looks like returning to that design. If it is durable enough now then that will be the de facto folding design as it means you only need one display and less cameras; ergo less weight.
Do not forget hi res and bokeh is better. But me as photographer will probably go for x80proplus or latest xperia1. What I don't like about folds is besides the price and availability, most don't use full thickness for camera sensors, which could go way better for overall thickness compared to standard phone design.
I love that you don't waste our time filming unboxing of empty boxes. Kudos to you
