VIVO rushed to adopt one-inch sensors just as quickly as they sought to boost sales, but this strategy led to their peak performance without any subsequent upgrade potential. I understand they were desperate due to declining sales-dropping from $131 million in 2021 to $88 million in 2023. However, early figures from 2024 indicate that having the best cameras isn’t significantly impacting their sales, a lesson Apple could have shared with them years ago based on their own statistics. As a result, VIVO may be downgrading sensors and considering a slower upgrade cycle. Even Samsung has recognized this trend and is now implementing minimal yearly improvements. This approach makes sense since consumers typically upgrade their devices every four years. If a company peaks early with specifications, people tend to hold on to their old devices longer or choose cheaper, older models instead. So, if you have the X100 Pro or Ultra, there is no need to upgrade, as the cameras are as good, and the chips are more than enough for most.
interesting take and I agree. When Vivo released the X90 pro+ (a phone I own and love), it seemed like they threw everything at it. Upgrades on the main camera has been less dramatic since, and now that they double down on sensor size - yes - I also think they take the strategy of slowing down progress. Shame, but I guess there is only so much you can do with the actual hardware for each release. Software optimisation will probably be the main focus
Thanks Ben ! I was waiting for this ! Can't wait for the phone to go global, it seems to be imminent with all the certifications going around. All the best

Hi Ben, great comparison. Just want to point out as someone else did, the LYT-900 is built on 22nm tech not 40. Also, the new x200 pro has a faster apature (f1.57 vs f1.75) so this helps offset the bokeh and iso difference in night scenes. Overall i think vivo made good compromises, it would have been crazy to release a phone that outright bet the x100 ultra like 4 months after it was released 😅
I don't know why nobody talks about this but the X200 pro selfie camera is not good especially when compared to the x100 ultra. when the x100 pro came out the selfie camera also wasn't good but x100 ultra selfie was a massive improvement even being comparable to the best selfie camera ever till this day (S24 ultra) it needs to be pushed for vivo x200 ultra to either get the same sensor as S24 for selfie or the older x100 Ultra because there's too many phones with better selfie than x200 right now and I'm worried that if this isn't pushed we're gonna be stuck with an average selfie on the front. this phone literally has the best back cameras so it'll be a shame that the selfie ruins the "Best Camera Phone title"
Sorry, I've never been a selfie person and this goes back years. I always don't really test the selfie camera. I am aware that's a flaw in my testing. But hey I never claimed to be the most scientific and thorough tester. I've always been a "street photography shooting interesting things in the world" type of tester.
Great analysis. Only held the X200 Pro for a couple of minutes but came almost to the same conclusion. The only thing I noticed is that the 2x crop of the main sensor seem to be weaker than on the X100 Ultra.
Idk why the x100 ultra processes so slow, but then again I'm talking from the perspective of a Xiaomi 13/14 ultra user. The only time those phones will sit to process is if I take maybe 8 to 10. photos in succession.

Specially in it's price range. As a Vivo X100 ultra owner, I would like to see less beautify in portraits, I want to see the face with all details bad or good. Then I can decide if there is a reason to turn on the beautify effect. 2nd I would like to see smooth zooming transitions during video. In other areas there is no much room for major improvements, at least not with the WOW factor.
look at the EXIF provided. mostly X100 ultra using lower ISO or faster shutter speed compared with X200pro for same photo. meaning larger sensor is still superior. maybe vivo is trying to compensate smaller sensor for faster readout so experience will be much better
Is it just me or does the Vivo x100 Ultra photos still look better? Colours are better and more consistent. In some cases with detail too but seems to vary from the shots shown. Example at 8:54, X200 pro is red colours look way too over saturated, whites are more overexposed. x100 ultra looks more natural to me overall. Again, at 4:47, X200 pro shows inconsistency, with subjects in the foreground lacking detail, looking dull, but lighting in the background is again, over exposed. The bars of light (lampposts?) on the left is yellow in the first one, but white on the next two, whereas x100 Ultra has yellow for the bars of light throughout, much more detail in the forefront (look at the zebra crossing), and colours are consistent. At 5:33 , X200 Pro image here is better. Definitely sharper, colours pop more, but again, I think it's inconsistent. The light at the tip of the tower is definitely more overexposed than vs the X100 Ultra. Or maybe it's just my eyes lol.
Hello friend, originOS5 beta update was released today for x100 ultra. Does your device have originOS5 or originOS4? Which version did you shoot in? And what do you think about originOS 5? Frankly, it is a 3.31 GB update, but I cannot say that it adds much to the device. A few design changes, a slightly sharper camera with HDR, atomic island but only used in origin applications. Are there any other notable notes you observed with OriginOS 5?
I did that update to beta OriginOS 5 and so far it's great, all works smooth, no battery drain I also use Nova Launcher with Google Discover all perfect no problems with widgets too. In terms of camera I don't know if anything changed.
Hey there, random question. I have the s24 ultra and am thinking about going with the OnePlus 13. Have you had a chance to see the camera performance of the 13? My camera is pretty important to me but i am getting pretty frustrated with the lack of innovation from all the companies that sell to the North America. I am fairly certain Apple, Samsung and Google are fully aware they can slow roll technology to the North American consumers because they know most Americans don't even know about the far superior Chinese devices and the companies that provide the North Americans understand they're not under threat of losing much market share because the cell providers only offer Google Samsung and apple besides some of the smaller companies. It's fairly obvious that OnePlus oppo, xiaomi, honor have made generational leaps past Google Samsung and Apple and is someone that owns an IT company and deals with technology everyday inside the United States it is pretty frustrating to know that many of the American consumers are being taken advantage of.. if the cell providers inside the United States provided access to the Chinese phones the American people would be shocked to see how much more premium an innovative the devices are compared to what we're used to.
How about the x100 pro . the x100 ultra has the lytia sensor but the x100 pro have the older tech 1 inch sensor. Is the new lytia tech thaat much better ?
Great video! Do you think that the s25ultra worth the wait compared to the vivox200 pro? With the pre reservation program and the phone trade in offer we can have the future s25 ultra around the same price of Vivo x200 pro
I am not Ben but I will share my point of view if you'll take it. Samsung's phones have been behind (camera wise) vivo for the last 2 gens I think (since the x90 pro vs S23U), so I believe it is unlikely that Samsung will outdo Vivo this time either
Don't wait for s25ultra. It won't be any close to x200 pro . I use S23ultra, and cameras are worse compared to vivo phones. I'm already planning to get x200 pro , I won't come back to samsung any time soon. Also, x200 pro is more than worth its price. You won't get such a beast for this price, and it destroys any phone until its ultra comes to the battle. You won't regret using vivo phones.
Best policy is to wait and see how the S25 Ultra performs in comparison to the Vivo. Don't be in a rush to commit financially to anything in life. Be sure before you buy. 👍
hi ben is it true that vivo degrade their old flagship to make way for their new lineup? i mean in terms of camera software processing, I;ve been reading it on reddit and facebook with people posting camera shot comparison and x100 ultra looks almost bad compared to x200 pro shots

Main camera it's a downgrade. Telephoto yes it's better so overall it's a no for me
@@frenchfries8745 it's not better, they just pushed too much AI, in some scenarios it's even worse.
Very nice, on your part to give a clarity on lens flare.
Can you please do a comparison between VIVO X200 PRO & HONOR MAGIC 7 PRO.
Hello Ben
I just curious that why my X200 Pro, the camera flash just working only one light instead of 3 (seem they are tree flash bulbs)
Ben, I have just seen Trinity Electronics with the Samsung Galaxy fold 6 special edition.
Looking forward watching your review 👍
hi Ben,
what is your favorite setting for photos, and by that I actually mean vivid or vintage modes?
In terms of camera I don't know if anything changed.
is the glare issue blown out of proportion? cus at this point i dont know who to trust
Your content and comparisons used to be be so much better and thorough
guys, did the x200 pro support video out via usb?
Excellent comparison, do you know if there will be an ultra version of the x200? Greetings from Peru
I haven't tested the OnePlus 13 yet I'm sorry
Can the AI features be used in English in x200 pro?
No in CN version.
Will it be worth upgrading my x100 pro to x200 pro mini?
Não faria atualização. Vivo x100 pro eu ainda acho que tem as melhores câmeras ou seja, sensores
Do you think that origin os5 update on x100 ultra can help the camera a little bit ?
Ben, quick question, does the Vivo X200 pro mini have the same camera as the X200 pro?
The X200 Pro has a 200mm telephoto, the Mini has 50mm one. In most situations you will not notice until you need zoom
You won't regret using vivo phones.
s25 ultra will be the same as s24 ultra, don't expect something new
Best policy is to wait and see how the S25 Ultra performs in comparison to the Vivo. Don't be in a rush to commit financially to anything in life. Be sure before you buy. 👍
@@neilmcguinness4422 i bought S23ultra, and honestly, it was my first samsung flagship. For 1k, it's not really worth
Where did youget these phones in hong kong? Thanks!
Awesome!! Been waiting to see your comparison on theses too!
Ben will you also compare x200 pro mini!?
Thanks Ben! I appreciate you brother! :) Personally I like the x200 pro more.
Wonder if X300 can optimize better camera or something else. Right now every aspect is TOP, beside main sensor and wide.
How many OS upgrades and security does the Vivo X200 Pro have?
hi ben is it true that vivo degrade their old flagship to make way for their new lineup? i mean in terms of camera software processing, I;ve been reading it on reddit and facebook with people posting camera shot comparison and x100 ultra looks almost bad compared to x200 pro shots
Ben, does this phones have something like Samsung Dex, Huawei desktop or similar? That turn phone into a pc when linked to a monitor?
Thanks for covering lens flare
Hi, how are you, ben's do you want to answer me about the colors, what are the most natural colors between the two phones please. Thank you.
Does cable file transfer work with you macbook? I have X100 and it doesn't connet to my macbook via usbc at all.
When will the fix the blur issue on the camera because I haven't blur issues on the Vivo x200 Pro is it a software fault or a manufactory fault
hello Ben. I guess the Vivo compared the building architecture of the new sensor to the IMX 989 in the vivo x100 pro not the LYT 900 in the Ultra. I think the LYT 900 is the same 22 nm as the LYT 818
Ah I think you're right thank you
Can't wait for the global launch 🤩 will you be also doing comparison with oppo x8 pro and the new honor magic? 🤞
Ben , do you know how to disable auto night sight on the x200 pro camera. I sometimes want a low light shot but it automatically goes to night mode and can not see a way to turn it off. Great video , glad I chose the 200 pro over the 100 ultra.
Hey, would be wonderful if you could get your hands on Galaxy fold 6 se
Ama wait for x200 ultra 😎😉
what's the difference between the Chinese version and the global version 💭
