ive never seen an epic mage in action, but for soloing are you able to just send pet after pet after pet endlessly at a mob until it dies? Seems so so strong.
To answer your question. The epic staff itself is a spell. Once you cast the spell you equip it as shown and it has 1 charge of pet on it. The cast time is like 12 seconds or something. Once you cast your pet your staff is out of charges and you need to delete it and cast a new epic staff. The issue is that the spell gem has a 5 minute cool down timer. So you cant essentially chain cast the pet. The best you can do is summon a pet wait 5 minutes for the gem refresh, make a new staff ( 1 charge ready ) wait 5 minutes for the gem to refresh. That way you essentially have 3 pets.. but thats the best. ... (unless you corpse a bunch of staffs) The Epic pet is great for dps. It hits for 81 dmg, has a 84 dmg stun and procs for 143. As far as being a tank he isnt as bad ass as you would think. Its more of offensive pet. The pet does have 4000 hit points and a built in 50 hp Damage Shield. The damage shield is what chews up most of the enemies HP's. However, with all that being said, im my experience the Epic pet isnt as good of a tank as you would imagine it to be. When it comes to soloing itis great for old world stuff like Guk, Permafrost, SolB. It will own those zones no problem. Most of higher end Kunark zones he is decent. Good in Karnors Castle, Ok in Seb up at the entrance area. Velious stuff is just hard for anyone to solo let alone a epic pet. Overall anything mid level and high level 1 on 1 he is good. Like all other mage pets,, once the mob is dead, the pet is pretty much dead too.

Love the pet tracker info. Love the mage and never knew that. Stopped playing when my Mage was 105.
Live removed the feature a while ago however P99 still has it in game.
Hey anyone know of any other channels like this? I’ve leveled my mage to 58, but other than that what do I need to know / do to at the highest levels
