His Manager always told him to at least pretend as if it was hard for him to sing these notes.... it came natural to him, he was very unique!!

I know there are lots of theatrics in a performance by these performers/singers; however at the end of this performance I truly believe "the master" understood that he had done one of his best and his facial expressions told us so.

In the final verse, he is ordering the stars to set, so that he can be victorious, the following dawn.

Goose bumps everywhere indicates the recognition upon experiencing art that transcends both the artist and their audience. In other words, it's a spiritual experience. Pavarotti brings that precious event to us.

Every time I watch a react like this, I think he would be very happy to see this (unfortunately he passed away in 2007), because it was one of his greatest wishes to bring the opera to everybody - not only the "rich people" who can go to the great opera houses.
He had a project called "Pavarotti & Friends". There he sang with different (non opera) singers and all the money from this concerts has been donated for children in war zones. You should look for videos of this, because "Big P" is a master tenor, but this fusion of opera and pop/rock music is unbelievable.

@@roselynadesola566 Yes, it was hard for all fans of him and classical music, but as you can see with his incredible voice he lives forever. Here are some songs to show this:
th-cam.com/video/l7eHO_PEWLk/w-d-xo.html (together with Placido Domingo and José Carreras = "The Three Tenors" - unreachable!)
th-cam.com/video/ZvLZSgP0QMY/w-d-xo.html (again th three with a little improvisation)
      th-cam.com/video/otAu5twqDpk/w-d-xo.html (with Celine Dion)
th-cam.com/video/EwEYTrlVbPk/w-d-xo.html (with all the stars he had at a Pavarotti & Friends-Concert)
      th-cam.com/video/XpYGgtrMTYs/w-d-xo.html (and "Big P" himself)
And if you want to see/hear his "heir", look for Andrea Bocelli ("The blind tenor"). ;)

His face after the final note, he almost seems shocked, like a great force took him over, and then he comes back to himself. I'm not into opera, but this performance has some transcendental, profound effect on me.

Fantastic choice to review! Your emotions really shined through. I don't listen to a lot of Opera but when I do, Pavorotti is my 1st choice. Not sure you know who Marie Osmond is? I saw her in concert (actually 5 times), in Las Vegas, along with her brother Donny. I had no clue Marie could sing opera. Further, I had no idea she had a 4 octave voice. She studied opera for 14 years but never cut an album. When they closed their Las Vegas show late in 2019, she got remarried to her 1st husband and decided she was going to produce an album of opera songs. (It hasn't come out yet, but I am waiting). In the meantime, here's a link to a live performance of her Las Vegas show, where she sings Nessun Dorma. th-cam.com/video/SjlMxBjylxQ/w-d-xo.html
