You have made it...Yaaaay. I am so proud of you guys, amidst the blisters, sweat, heat and altitude you were in high spirits. What an accomplishment. The views were breathtaking, I enjoyed being on the journey with you all. I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the last accommodation was and the food looked so delicious. The organizers did an excellent job at taking care of all of you. Kudos to them and thanks for sharing that amazing video with us. Much appreciated.😊
So let’s get this out the way first, your confessional had me in tears, seeing you so upset broke my heart because I wasn’t there to hug you and to tell you you everything will be alright, you are amazing, you did something you never thought you would or could do but you did!! I am so proud of you and Jordan for even contemplating doing this gruelling trek, it’ll be something you will always look back on with pride and a smile on your face. The views were amazing, the drone footage spot on and the fact that you were at Machu Picchu was the icing on the cake. Seeing you hug that little girl, melted my heart, what a sweetie. Your guides, porters and chef looked like they took great care of you all to make all your experiences one you’ll never forget. Proud of you both, can’t wait to give you a big hug when you get home. I miss you both, love you, mum.xx 🥰❤️🥰❤️
Huge Congratulations on making it to Machu Picchu and for this awesome video. Was so great to see what a person can achieve with some determination/tears and just positive mind set. Thank you for sharing the good and the bad of your experiences. Really can't wait to make the same trek in a couple of years.
Oh my God, I'm peruvian and didnt know how beautiful looks Machu Picchu from another angle than the common one. I'm happy to see how much you enjoyed it! Greetings from a peruvian living in Poland.
Hi Jordan and Emily, glad that Emily was able to push through the difficult part of the hike so that you could both experience Machu Picchu together. Really enjoyed the drone footage that you were able to get all along your journey. It was an extra bonus to have great guides and a positive upbuilding team to conquer the grueling days. Great way to end the video with the footage of the drone going over your group waving.
My congratulations, Jordan and Emily! You are very strong and energetic people! Thank you for your interesting video from Peru once again! Machu Picchu is amazing!
Thank you very much for this fantastic trip, a beautiful but also tough journey. I can understand why you got emotional, Emily; anxiety is frightening. I've been there myself. It's hard to get rid of, and it always lurks in the background. Well done. Looking forward to next episode. Have a great weekends all. ❤
This is such a good vlog but also super helpful for those less experienced trekkers like myself who is planning on doing this in 2024. You guys totally sold it to us so thank you.
Alpaca Expeditions, simply the best! I know the locals look very similar, but the tour guide looks like the one I had and his name is Abel. The chef also looks familiar.. he looks like Miguel, the same chef of my trek. This video totally reminds me of my trek with AE in August 2019 🥲🥲🥲
Wow! Great video, doing this same trip in a month with them! Now I’m excited! Only thing is I was hoping to bring just one bag to Peru for a carry on, did yall get a bag in Peru to use for this hike or bring a daypack?
I did. the salkantay trek as well with alpaca 1,5 years ago, very interesting to see someone else experience it. I also had a mental breakdown on the 3rd day… sth small triggered me and I totally broke down with tears etc. in the end I think it was just basically the extreme physical exhaustion. It just also gets to you mentally… under normal conditions this would never be happend 😅
Hi from Adelaide! Super glad I came across your vlogs (thank you for sharing by the way!!!) as I'm in the fun stage of planning my trip at the end of the year. You are the third couple who've had fantastic things to say about Alpaca Expeditions for the Salkantay Trek, so I'm now set on going with them. Side note: Is there anything that you wish you had on the trek or could have done without?
Hey! That's so exciting that you're going, you're going to love the trek! We used everything we brought with us 😄 They give you a checklist of important things like warn clothes for nightime and a hat, but other than that we would recommend saving one pair of clothes that you dont wear until you get to Aguas Calientes. It didn't feel great finally taking a hot shower and getting back into sweaty clothes, haha
So nice. Really good work, it's fun to watch your videos! Which package exactly did you take? Is it the Salkantay Trek for $650 per person? And is everything including the hotel etc. included!? That seems so inexpensive to me, that's why I ask :D
Thanks so much! Yeah this is the exact one we went on gyg.me/tLdXctNG We thought it was pretty good too, includes everything you'll need but you can rent things you don't have like sleeping bags and hiking poles, or bring your own!
Hey guys! Good question! We heard the salkantay was a bit more beautiful and longer than the Inca. BUT the Inca has more history and more frequent stops at cool sites so it's a really a toss up 😄
I´m going to hike the Salkantay Trek in december, alone in Peru as a 19 year old and first time solo-traveler....I´m equally excited and terrified. I hope the company I booked the tour with is going to be as friendly and supporting as i hope they are going to be. Especially because I´m definitely not a sporty person :´)
Hopefully all the companies have a similar power availability as Alpaca did! I'm sure everyone has a plan in place if there are people who get an injury or something, you'll be fine though! Just enjoy the hike 😀
If you liked this video please give it a thumbs up - it REALLY helps a small channel like ours grow 🌱

@@JordanandEmily 😄 unfortunately, no apple cake this time. "Someone" had already eaten it all... 🤔
Totally awesome! Well done Emily and Jordan.

Loved this video!! Looks so cool there 😊😊
Thank you!! 😊
One of the better videos of this trek..
Thank you so much!!
This is just insane. I can't even imagine what it's like being there. It doesn't even feel like a real place watching it through the screen.
You'll have to see it for yourself 😉
Gracias por venir, espero vuelvan pronto.
¡Seran bienvenidos!
Thank you so much 🥰
Another amazing video, keep up the good work
What a great feat you two accomplished! You should be proud. The heat and elevation must have been very very challenging.😊😊😊
We were! It was totally worth all the effort though 😀

Lack of sufficient oxygen can feel scary. Did your guides talk to you about pressure breathing?
no they didn't! whats that? haha
Ooohh..... you didn't fail at all! (I don't really like the title, sorry....lol) Good job.....celebrate that accomplishment Emily! 🎉
😄 if you look reeeaaaallly closely there's a tiny (almost) on the thumbnail! 🤣
Thanks so much for watching 😊
We loved Peru! Such great landscapes...... we weren't so lucky doing Salkantany...... it SNOWED and we had to cancel 😢
@@wattstravelingoh no! You'll have to come back one day and give it another go! 😊

Woohoo you guys made it 🎉 what an EPIC way to end a brutal (but beautiful) 4 days of hiking! Why did you choose this trek over the classic Inca Trail?
Hey guys! Good question! We heard the salkantay was a bit more beautiful and longer than the Inca. BUT the Inca has more history and more frequent stops at cool sites so it's a really a toss up 😄

Hi @JordanandEmily what time of year did you do this trek to Macchu Picchu? I am going early April and am concerned about rain and dull weather.
Hi there! We were there in September 🤔 we had a bit of rain which was a very hard day but other than that it was okay!
Did you guys get your passport stamp with the Machu Picchu logo. You get that at Aguas calientes/Machu Picchu town.
No 😥 we heard about it but didn't find the time to get it!
Good excuse to go back 😉
you poor poor poor thang you , may god bless your heart.
❤️
Lindo vídeo me gusto peru tiene bonitos paisajes
Agree! 😊
Did you have to pay to fly the drone?
Nope! No extra fees involved to get the drone I'm because it's a smaller one, only 249grams!
hi, guys! which time of the year did you go there?
We were there in August!
Tiny backpack, and water bottle warriors😏
hahaha
How much is the 4 days Inca Trail?
No clue how much the Inca trail is but the salkantay (which is the one in the video) is $650!
What month did you go ?
September!
😄
STARBUCKS! 🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂
haha 🤣
Millennials, so over dramatic.
