They've been copied by so many bands and they're looking to give a new twist to their sound without losing their essence. And this track does. You don't HAVE to like it of course i respect that.
Josh's backing vocal makes this song even better! I'm glad that he can finally contribute some vocal on the new Architects stuff, because he's a vocal beast in Sylosis

I wouldn't even call this screaming. Sam was never a dynamic shouter, but he definitely could do a lot higher/lower/more distorted and this is mediocre at best. We have tons of bands in this genre, sounding almost identical sometimes and now architects becomes one of them. I'll just listen to their older stuff, but it's sad.
Sam's voice is a treasure, so versatile, so powerful. This song is amazing. Could we all just spread kindness? You have nothing to win putting people down. These are artists that put a lot of hard work in producing this art. I'm a forever fan of Architects
Agreed 1000%. Been a fan of architects forever and literary anything they write hits me in such a different way. Never has a bands music effect me so emotionally. Their story and everything about it is heartbreaking and so goddamn impressive. Bands need to mature and change. If not they are doomed for failure. Tom would damn proud of these fellas.

The newer direction has been an adjustment for me as a fan. Architects had that signature sound that no one could imitate in my opinion. This sounds like they are getting older and maturing as a whole. Sam is definitely growing as a vocalist and trying to step out of his comfort zone which I highly respect. All in all, I've enjoyed every release.
I agree I feel the same. This guys have always been doing great music in my opinion, they keep their hardcore tone and breakdowns and stuff while also putting the passionate vocals in there and still sound different. They deserve a lot

This album is hugely different and I can vividly hear the loss of Tom's masterful songwriting and guitar work from the music and that is incredibly sad. That being said, the album is a triumph in its own right which you guys have clearly poured your heart and soul into. Well done.

This song and this album will forever be ingrained into my brain. It's a Little Wonder how Animals could cause a Demi God to throw a Meteor into a pool of Dead Butterflies that were Giving Blood to a Goliath that was screaming "Do You Dream of Armageddon?". Then out of nowhere the Libertine appears preaching An Ordinary Extinction about Flight Without Feathers to the living butterflies mourning their fallen kin. The butterflies stricken with Impermanence gasped as they realized they developed Black Lungs from the meteor and accepted that Dying is Absolutely Safe. Thus concludes the story of how Discourse is Dead.

the here and now had some amazing vocals, while this is just bad autotune. its a real shame after releasing songs like gone with the wind where sam showed his amazing cleans, to degrate the vocals to those of the last two songs.

In an interview, Sam said that they started writing this album in Australia while the wild fires were going on, so listening to the lyrics with that context they make more sense. Edit: I also hate how people hate on the chorus, everyone has their own opinion but for me the chorus is probably the catchiest part of the song and the reason it hooked me like it did.

i think part of it is an ambience feeling or atmosphere they had in the older days. Like in Broken Cross, there was that sense of feeling like you were in space or a celestial being. Maybe its just me, but it seems like that atmosphere feel is missing sometimes. Im not saying i dislike this by any means. In fact i love these 2 recent songs and cant wait for whats coming, but i do enjoy the atmosphere feels of older songs.
I'm a huge fan of this band and have been for awhile and am a little scared of this album. I dont want to dislike it ughhh maybe Sam's vocal chords have had some damage done over years and tours? Fry vocals ain't easy on that muscle. Or maybe he just wants to change it up? I'm just not a huge fan of the first 2 releases
If this band was still pushing out the AOGHAU, LF//LT, HH sound I seriously would’ve stopped listening. This is such a refreshing sound for this band. I’ve got a feeling this album will be similar to The Here and Now, Daybreaker, with a stylistic edge akin to Sempiternal. I haven’t been this excited for an Architects record since AOGHAU. Ready to see what these boyos have up their sleeves.

For me it's the second verse, going into the chrous. That whole section was a masterclass in song writing and delivery.

This album is hugely different and I can vividly hear the loss of Tom's masterful songwriting and guitar work from the music and that is incredibly sad. That being said, the album is a triumph in its own right which you guys have clearly poured your heart and soul into. Well done.

This song and this album will forever be ingrained into my brain. It's a Little Wonder how Animals could cause a Demi God to throw a Meteor into a pool of Dead Butterflies that were Giving Blood to a Goliath that was screaming "Do You Dream of Armageddon?". Then out of nowhere the Libertine appears preaching An Ordinary Extinction about Flight Without Feathers to the living butterflies mourning their fallen kin. The butterflies stricken with Impermanence gasped as they realized they developed Black Lungs from the meteor and accepted that Dying is Absolutely Safe. Thus concludes the story of how Discourse is Dead.
People whining about clean choruses in Architects songs clearly aren't familiar with The Here and Now...
most of them just posers who never heard the full discography, just a couple of new songs, and have no clue about the previous styles they've used to play..
the here and now had some amazing vocals, while this is just bad autotune. its a real shame after releasing songs like gone with the wind where sam showed his amazing cleans, to degrate the vocals to those of the last two songs.
The Here and Now is generally considered by both the band and their fans to be below par...

Found those guys through Loudwire and this band is so fresh, they have the perfect balance between deep lyrics, catchy choruses and brutal riffs.

In an interview, Sam said that they started writing this album in Australia while the wild fires were going on, so listening to the lyrics with that context they make more sense.
Edit: I also hate how people hate on the chorus, everyone has their own opinion but for me the chorus is probably the catchiest part of the song and the reason it hooked me like it did.

i think part of it is an ambience feeling or atmosphere they had in the older days. Like in Broken Cross, there was that sense of feeling like you were in space or a celestial being. Maybe its just me, but it seems like that atmosphere feel is missing sometimes. Im not saying i dislike this by any means. In fact i love these 2 recent songs and cant wait for whats coming, but i do enjoy the atmosphere feels of older songs.
I'm a huge fan of this band and have been for awhile and am a little scared of this album. I dont want to dislike it ughhh maybe Sam's vocal chords have had some damage done over years and tours? Fry vocals ain't easy on that muscle. Or maybe he just wants to change it up? I'm just not a huge fan of the first 2 releases

If this band was still pushing out the AOGHAU, LF//LT, HH sound I seriously would’ve stopped listening. This is such a refreshing sound for this band. I’ve got a feeling this album will be similar to The Here and Now, Daybreaker, with a stylistic edge akin to Sempiternal. I haven’t been this excited for an Architects record since AOGHAU. Ready to see what these boyos have up their sleeves.
