He's blind to the apocalypse, but also Architects are not pointing at him making him the villain. Quite the opposite... he is lonely, left behind. He is representing how most people are just barely getting by dealing with their own issues (mental health, the apathy and pointlessness of the modern world, etc.), which makes it almost impossible to be able to deal with the immense responsibility of saving the planet on top of this. Dan has talked about this and that he also counts himself as someone who could do more for the environment but the pressure of just dealing with his own problems is too overwhelming.

@@sarcasm4371 The song is a call out for humanity to “examine the role we are currently playing in the destruction of the world with barren landscapes, and foreshadowing of extinction” which is one of the main themes of this new record as the band stated it’ll focus on: “…the part we are all playing in the world’s slow destruction, and tackle the biggest questions facing the future of our planet” and if it takes a heavy band like Architects to get the message across, then we should be listening tentatively to what they’ve got to say! This is such a powerful symbolism for my struggle with addiction. " I'm standing beneath the meteor "(looking at this beast of addiction) "disasters breaking down my door" (knowing it was gonna kill me, if I didn't stop) "I should be moving mtns, the arrow buckles in the bow" (nothing was going to work for me if I didnt straighten up) "they said it's time to go to war, yeah ive heard it all before " (friends/fam kept telling me to face it, and fight for my life- i just hadnt been ready to put it down before) "I should be moving mtns, but im like fire in the snow" ( didn't have anything to show for my 30+yrs, except all of this untapped potential that everyone could see but me). "Another God on the radio, says we're stuck in a tailspin" (acquaintances always had something negative to say, ab how I'd never pull it off). HOWEVER- I made that decision to face my meteor in 2013. Stuck with the program for 7 years, and finally graduated it in 2020- completely clean & sober from that day 4+ yrs ago!!! Id lost it ALL, all those years ago, and didn't understand why I went through HELL...until I'd reached the other side of the fire years later. It made me into the person I am today, and although it wasn't a walk in the park- I MADE IT OUT before my own meteor destroyed me. I moved those mountains, and let my fire inside rage. I WON!! I saw the Architects play this live earlier this year in Nashville- and it was a full circle moment of realization for me...with tears in my eyes, and chills throughout my body- I knew I'd conquered a meteor that was meant to destroy me. If you are struggling rn, YOU TOO CAN MAKE IT OUT ALIVE!!! I promise you can! ❤

The message behind this song and even this album is so eye opening. Turning a blind eye to the apocalypse that looms over the horizon just because we want to chase a high. It’s like architects finally have had it with people not grasping the warnings they put into their music and this album feels like they are saying “the apocalypse has finally come no choice now but to embrace it”.
absolutely banger of a song, especially the chorus. this was the first architects song i ever heard, and it turned me on to them and to metalcore forever. keep rocking!
The most un-“architects” single the band has released in years and yet it’s one of the best. This new album is PERFECT and this is now one of my favourite songs of all time. It makes me feel like I can actually move mountains. Wow.
Muchas gracias Architects.
The part where the MC steps through the portal and is blasting through dimensions (my guess) is pretty reminiscent of the Doomsday video, when Tom gets pulled into the cosmos. I see Tom in everything Architects does, but also growth and maturity in it all. Each thing I hear from them is just another sprout on the tree that grew from Tom's back.
I miss Tom's influence on the music of this great band. I was a huge Architects fan for 10 years seeing the band 10 times live, but I miss something from the old days, I can't help myself.

The visuals of this video made me think about the book "1984"
It's that time to quote the book you've never read.

@@markspitze8038 well, I'm pretty sure it means that we (he says 'we' at some point), as some simple human beings , can't stand in the way of disaster.. we should be moving mountains but our efforts are in vain
@@markspitze8038 also, if you think about it, they can't really change anything, even if they clearly sing the truth about what's happening in the world.. music can be a solution, but we all need to listen to its true meaning for it to make a change 😊
This song is incredible, and the imagery in the video brings so much more to the table than I could have even imagined. It took a few listens, but this was hitting me in a soulful way, so I dug really deep. I wish I could succinctly put into words everything I've drawn from this track and video. Please keep doing what you're doing now, I crave emotional intelligence and bare bones honesty. I've only recently come to know your work, but I'm floored by what you've gone through that has brought you here today. Much love to Tom from us all.
We could all take a lesson from this. Thank you as always Architects
what lesson we taking
@@sarcasm4371 Their message is still the same despite some changes in sound over the years?
@@StatisticZ that wasn't my question, i know that already.
Just found this in an article.
Architects will always be one of my favorite bands, even with their sound changing every now and again they still put out solid amazing music.
This is now my favorite song of all time
Breaking the Habit feelings!
Yeh I was getting dajavu but couldn’t put my finger on it but yeh definitely some sort of LP vibe there definitely feels like it’s got 90 2000s feel yet still fresh as hell
As someone that is on Methadone...I relate to this video in a crazy way. It all numbs us (drugs and technology) and forces us to ignore our surroundings. Amazing video. ❤
This video adds so much more dimension to the song. Way more impactful 👌🏻👌🏻
I would love to see you guys in Brazil 🇧🇷😭 maybe at knotfest in December
Brasil em todo canto. Amém

Nem me falaaa, ainda sonho com esse dia!!!
Sorry but you are delusional if you think any mass gigs will take place this year.
@@ChaoS1626 I don't mean a show this year. And yes in Knotfest in Brazil 🙂
I feel like breakdowns are something special that shouldn't happen as often as they do and the album definitely reflects that. Although not overly heavy they hit a lot better
the clip reminded me of the movie "Equilibrium", the work was done very well (I express my respect to the artist). As for the music, well, it can't be compared with the old works, of course, but to say that it doesn't get any worse. If Аrchitects want to go in this direction, it is their will. I am glad that they continue to engage in creative work. I wish them good health in this difficult year. 🖤
1:58 ufff that transition was so damn smooth :D

The whole album is an absolute banger!
Animals, Dead butterflies and Meteor are all I've heard so far but I'm HOOKED
This song is definitely a grower
Love this style of video. Allright, all the singles are out. 4 days till the album. I can't wait to listen to the track with Mike Kerr from Royal Blood
all the tracks with featured artists were great, especially the one with biffy clyro
Including impermanence with Winston Mccall

For the ever changing world, in the dark days that we live in, an evolution of sound to remove us from the tired claustrophobia of the constant four wall oppression. Music that speaks our truths and doesn't hide behind the lies of other mediums. Painting pictures that we all can draw, and even though they are dark, they are a light to guide us all.

This is probably my favourite song of the new album, this song slaps hard! This has to be album of the year for sure!
I didn’t want to accept this sound for the band the first I heard Meteor, I couldn’t believe they had gone radio friendly... well, jokes on me because I currently think this song is a masterpiece and one of the best tracks they’ve ever made, and it’s my favourite song off the album lol thnx for this Architects, sincerely
Architects is in a level of their own, heavy, melodic or soft they are special and i'm so glad they're still with us, FTTWTE is one of my favorite releases of this year, just a great album from start to finish to me
This entire album is a masterpiece
My whole body felt a wave of excitement that started in my chest and spread all the way to my toes when I read "Architects - Meteor."
Thank you, Architects. I hadn't had goosebumps in a while.
Already the best album of the year hands down 🙌🏻🖤

I can't get over how good this video is. The art style is fucking incredible
The guitars and drums in this song, truely a masterpiece❤️

Absolutely love this song!!!!!
Such an undertone to this song and video. Overthrowing the oppression of the modern way really comes over in this
"We've all got a stone to throw"
Yes, a lot of change is happening in a small amount of time now. Exciting times. :)
The opression of the modern day.... I think the way is to be happy with small things, not be afraid of being unimportant, and dont give in to the pressure to be "succesful". Success comes in many ways, and good relations with people is one of the most important
What does "oppression of the modern way" even mean? If it's modern then how is it oppressed?
@@musiqrocks92 From what I understand, he means modern day wage slavery. I wish we could all see what could be, because everything is temporary. These things take time and many lives, before we see the truth of our conscious life. We simply don't exist as we believe we do.
This is such a powerful symbolism for my struggle with addiction.
" I'm standing beneath the meteor "(looking at this beast of addiction) "disasters breaking down my door" (knowing it was gonna kill me, if I didn't stop)
"I should be moving mtns, the arrow buckles in the bow" (nothing was going to work for me if I didnt straighten up) "they said it's time to go to war, yeah ive heard it all before " (friends/fam kept telling me to face it, and fight for my life- i just hadnt been ready to put it down before) "I should be moving mtns, but im like fire in the snow" ( didn't have anything to show for my 30+yrs, except all of this untapped potential that everyone could see but me).
It's a whole different experience hearing the song whilst watching the video. I've goosebumps. This reminds me of old Linkin Park, the style of the video, breaking the habit anyone? Pure brilliance. Smashing it guys!
Over the moon. Once again. More and more and more, please!!

I just want to say THANK YOU guys from the bottom of my heart. Always here for you guys, just like you when I feel hopeless.❤
"The arrow buckles in the bow" and "Nobody's evergreen" are really speaking to me rn
For me it is "I'm like fire in the snow".
Not easy for me to see a good ending in all this and keep fighting for this planet.
always knew Sam and the boys had it in them to do some killer music like this! stoked in theor new direction. their music always means so much
The message behind this song and even this album is so eye opening.
Behind every
Architects song i hear a faint ...
“YOU CAN’T STOP ME FROM GIVING A FUCK!!!”
The part where the MC steps through the portal and is blasting through dimensions (my guess) is pretty reminiscent of the Doomsday video, when Tom gets pulled into the cosmos.
I see Tom in everything Architects does, but also growth and maturity in it all. Each thing I hear from them is just another sprout on the tree that grew from Tom's back.
still get goosebumps every time i watch this video. relevance is uncanny
I am in the eye of the storm right now, and this song is like my light in the darkness
I miss Tom's influence on the music of this great band. I was a huge Architects fan for 10 years seeing the band 10 times live, but I miss something from the old days, I can't help myself.
Tom always wanted them to do something more experimental. he’s said it so many times before, this is exactly what he would have wanted for the boys.
