'We only ever love you when you're seeing red'
"Seeing red"
You oughta know that I'm like a broken machine
I'm not as bulletproof as you all paint me to be
Time hasn’t frozen
Why do you want me to scream?
Are you a junkie punk medicating for free?
We’re all you need
We’ll make you royalty
We’ll be the best of enemies
Read me all my rights
I’ll never grow tired of your great advice
Won't somebody tell me
What I believe
I'm sorry for your sacrifice
I guess I must’ve sounded like the anti christ
Won’t somebody tell me
Won't somebody tell me
What I believe?
No debts
All love
I dont give a fuck
My head
My heart
Wouldn't be enough
I won’t think twice
I'm afraid
I'm the priest
You're the poltergeist
We’re like one big family
Gee thanks so much for the death threat
Do you hear the audacity?
You dummies only live on the internet
We’re all (oh yeah?)
you need (that's right)
We’ll make you royalty (gimme that gold)
We’ll be the best of enemies
Read me all my rights
I’ll never grow tired of your great advice
Won't somebody tell me
What I believe
I'm sorry for your sacrifice
I guess I must’ve sounded like the anti christ
Won’t somebody tell me
Won't somebody tell me
What I believe?
“Are you happy now?”

Only Architects can make a song, in a genre, about the genre, and how people are annoyed at them not making songs in that genre, whilst simultaneously nailing the genre and being the funniest shit to come out of that genre in a hot minute 😂
And not the first time either - Giving Blood and Little Wonder are written the same way
Bmth did it years ago with heavy metal

We might have a comment of the year right here
I love how this song is simultaneously a love note and hate mail to the naysayers. It's like a punishment that gives them exactly what they want. This is top notch stuff, fellas.
It's a middle finger, but they accidently made it good. Which is hilarious.
I had the same feeling. It's not like a total dismissing.
They should “punish” us with more music like this
I’d call it a bitter reward
@@Marctetrit's not "accidental", this song is very formulaic, it follows an established pattern in the genre, I bet the band meant to make it that way to go with what the lyric is saying, and they're probably laughing at their shallow fans who are calling this "a masterpiece".
the fact that Mick Gordon helped with production is the cherry on top. Fucking banger, excited for a new LP / EP

Love hearing Sam’s low screams more prominent than ever! Definitely stoked for a new album now 🤩
@Niknocturnal Reaction
Honestly I personally wouldn't. They've given 2 10/10 albums in the past 2 years, they have more than enough music to tour all year with, the next possible project will more than likely be an tour EP like what most bands are doind nowadays. Or go the Enter Shikari route and just drop singles until they feel like dropping an album
those lows are amazing just like how he did all this time, but imo should be longer, not just 1-2 words with lows, they need to make it longer like 1 sentence or even 1 verse
@@imoanadz Sam doesn't sing like that tho,
@@fanrosefabrose9457In my opinion, the last 10/10 were Holy Hell and AOGHAU.
The opening line to the Chorus "Read me all my rights" ALWAYS reminds me of Bennington, an absolutely incredible release.
💯- his timbre is so similar there.
I got Linkin Park vibes from them too. His scream sounds a little like Chester.
His tone is certainly different, but in this song he hit those exact notes that reminded of Chester, miss that guy man. @@iblastyou4819

This is fkin insaneee!!! This is like a bunch of all my favorite things in one song. The heavy chugging riffs and pre-'holy hell' kinda screams on the verses, the melodic 'classic symptomps' kinda chorus, the blegh, the growls, the gojira pick scrapes, the insane breakdown (with the pauses, the rhythm switches, and the single bell hit), Dan's awesome drum parts, the kids cheers that reminds me of BMTH's Happy Song and finally the synths. Everything about this song is just so perfect and balanced. Definitely my new favorite Architects song!
The Gojira scrapes 😍
Are you happy now?
I think you missed the point...
@@VeritabIlIti No, i get the point of the song. It's so obvious haha but I just see it in this way because I'm not the people that the band target this song towards. I don't care what architects make, i always love everything they do.

@@render_the_voidyea they are masterpieces. This song is good but what I don’t like about most of modern metalcore are the chorus. Like they break the hype the song builds with riffs/breakdowns. Still a solid song tho
Shit’s heavy, catchy, hardcore-y, and most of all it still sounds like them. No matter where they go with their sound, there is a core part of their music that makes it architects that is intangible, and it’s amazing.
They've never not sounded like Architects
Probably the drumkit and using the same guitars or something
@FL3MSH4DY I beg to differ with their last album :/
@@theperiidot Not always. Some bands do that and still sound different sometimes. It's smth different sometimes.
@katelouisepritchard6787 lmao hate all you want but it still sounds just like Architects
I fucking hate how ruthless people are when it comes to creativity. I feel like the internet forgets every once in a while that good music comes from the heart. If somebody isn't happy because they are pushed in a certain direction, they can't make good music. And if they can't put out a banger because they are pushed, people just push even more. It's like an endless fucking circle. I'm so happy architects is pushing back. You guys are such a great band, please keep it up
nah. People are allowed to have and express their opinion given place and time and commentsections are place with unlimited time. As artist, every artist, you decide how to take those comments and if or how you respond to them. Artists need to grow up. Hi, Artist here.
Yes, I totally agree that opinions should be expressed, but I think that the hate for architects specifically is uncalled for. But that is just my opinion, which, like you said, I am also allowed to express ;) @@ChrisisComics
@@ChrisisComics You're a nobody.
There is a difference between making music from the heart and making music to tap into the mainstream and make more money. And we can hear the difference.
@@obiwancolby1774 And its so painfully, blatantly obvious that I wonder why not that many people can see through it.
well... they saw your comments on their last album and took it personal >.>
ngl I find it a bit sad that they made this song as a fuck you to the haters because it means the negative reviews really got to them.
my take on this: fans are allowed to like and dislike whatever they want. as an artist you shouldn't be offended if people don't like your "new" stuff even if you find that you "evolved and matured". music is subjective after all. fans are not bad or dumb for not liking some of your discography. on the other hand, hateful comments are a waste of energy so I don't approve of them. take me as an example: ghost was one of my favourite bands, I loved their first 3 albums and their EPs. the 4th album had some good stuff and the 5th one I hated. it just wasn't for me AT ALL. I was very disappointed for sure but I didn't comment mean things under their videos because what difference does it makes?
then again you could argue this song would've never been written if it wasn't for those hate comments so I guess the strategy "worked". the haters were rewarded with a heavy song. I have mixed feelings on this as you can tell
I love this so much. Growls, BLEGH, chunky riffs, massive chorus. Amazing.
I'll always be here for Architects, no matter the direction you are choosing

Yes I am happy now! But never had not been happy, every album kills it in its own way while maintaining Architects vibes 🙌🏼 And btw, longer live shows are much more interesting when a band has diversity in their sets! See Northlane and BMTH 👌🏼
Bmth setlists are shit, they were better before amo. They've improved his live performance by the way but setlists can be much better.

You gave us 3 albums of the rawest most heartfelt signature metalcore in existence. Pure art straight from the heart. If someone doesnt like the new stuff, tough shit, plenty of others do.
For me, “classic symptoms,” tied with my favorite record from them.
By contrast, “For Those That Wish,” I think had some of their best lyrical themes ever along with, “All Our Gods,” &, “Holy Hell,” but I didn’t enjoy, “For Those That Wish,” aside from, “Animals,” and, “Dying Is Absolutely Safe.”
Also, their album cover for, “For Those That Wish,” is probably one of the SICest album covers I’ve ever seen.
Meanwhile, “classic symptoms,” accounts for most of my listening time every January along with BMTH’s, “amo.”
Architects, Stray From The Path, and Bring Me have just been on another Fuckin level lately.

The combination between good lyrics and amazing melody hits differently. In my case it was Animals and it still resonates the best imho)))

Getting Mick Gordon to help with producing is absolutely legendary.
Wait what ? Mick Gordon helped with this ? No wonder it's such a banger to be honest.

This wasn't the own to the OG fans like they thought it was. It only shows us what we've been missing
It wasn't for them. It was for the toxic people who used Tom's death as ammunition and sent them death threats.
Everyone saying "YOOO they're heavy now?!" and "metalcore banger!!1!" are completely missing the point of the song. Yeah it's heavy, yeah it bangs; Architects are mocking you. This a fantastic song for all of the people who clowned on them for going softer or more experimental. Their last 2 albums actually ended up being some of the most refreshing stuff to hear in the scene, and while this slaps, I can't help but feel bad for Sam and the rest of the band for all of the garbage comments they had to sift through for trying to experiment a bit and change things up.
Great song musically, fantastic lyrically.
Its both an ironic banger and just a banger. They can do so much on both sides of the genre. Glad they can show off their roots and still keep it fun and fresh. No matter what anyone says they're iconic and thats that.
@@monochromatic... agreed
Eh in my opinion FTTWTE was a refreshing departure that still mostly worked (even if a step down from the previous albums). TCSOABS felt like a B-sides to FTTWTE, not enough variation, not enough bangers, and cheesy lyrics. That’s not to defend any scumbags that send personal attacks, but it’s important to note that most fans that are disappointed surely express it respectfully. You also have to have thick skin when you are a band or celebrity.
@@biscuit2349 i understand all of that TCSOABS wasn't their best but it definitely wasn't awful. Also keep in mind people actually have gone on stage and used toms name to their face. I get you need thick skin, but theres a limit. No one deserves that kind of shit thrown in their face its disgusting. Besides this song isnt a call out on most fans. They're calling out the small group that are the actual issue. Which they have every right as artists. The same way fans can criticize them for what they do they can do the same with the fans.
Great song! Plenty of heaviness and clean vocals. Can't complain 🔥👌🔝🔥

stoked to hear Sams lows on a recording finally!! Everytime I've seen you guys live he throws them in and they've always sounded sick!@
You guys have been my favorite band from the day I found you guys. The way you guys always feel so real and your ability to evolve as a band and release the music you want regardless of "genre" or what the "fans" will think is really inspiring. The Abbey Road album you guys did has literally opened so many doors musically for me and made me explore so many avenues and sounds I never would have without you guys, and I will be eternally grateful to you all for expanding my music tastes. It probably gets exhausting the way some people talk and act about you guys and honestly fuck those people, they don't deserve your hard work and authenticity and they can listen to the same r/metalcore slop with their 5 bands all copying eachother. Those people may be the loudest but never forget there is a large group of us that love you guys for you and your authenticity, and we are all excited to see your continued growth and how you will continue to evolve! Love you guys

The funny thing is, If you read the lyrics, that Bleah was satire or irony as its an ode to the old style people were crying about saying the band is lost. @@antondavies3136there are a few things wrong with your comment. Firstly, it doesn’t come across as a middle finger. Definitely a satirical response summarised by “are you happy now?” Architects don’t come across as a band that would alienate their fan base however, we all know the internet harbours some of the worst aspects of human social skills and total disregard for basic courtesy. Hence, “rip they commented” and “won’t somebody tell me what i believe”. Unlike most other Architects fans I'm not attached to the old albums and I don't really like them, but man the previous album just didn't hit it for me. It has moments of greatness, but most of the tracks just feel like they go nowhere or just have something missing, so it's not like the album is bad, it just isn't good. Ironically, Sam and Dan's (as main writer and outspoken against the fans) best work in a while comes from a track commenting on being sick of being expected to release work from a heavier and angrier direction, in a track that is heavy and angry. Maybe they haven't outgrown the 'anger from when we were younger', they just needed something new to be angry about.
I just read through the lyrics and yea, totally agree. My boys aint too happy about the negative feedback they've recieved regarding their latest stuff. All respect for trying something new.
In that vain though, I think the heavier songs on that album were the worst; felt like fan service and completely heartless and bland. I preferred the softer, new wave stuff on there from them personally.

I love when architects do that switch from a heavy riff intro into a heavy riff verse. When the drums up the pace it's just a bop 🔥
it's very dangerous to listen to this kind of part while driving 😅
I can’t get this song out of my head. You guys did a great job
Love it. I'm glad Sam is doing more lows on albums instead of only doing that in live shows, It's brutal af. Even tho their sound change a lot, it's a banger still.
And even Mick Gordon and Nolly and work on this track?!
Lmao, love your pfp

BLEGH!!!!!
You don't recognize, that this is sarcastic?
00:37 Nicee!
imagine how shitty it must feel to have a loud minority of your fan base relentlessly shit on you for altering your sound after the passing of your friend/brother & bandmate, and to recieve continued hatred from people whose only relation to you is through a screen and a collection of 3 and a half minute audios that could listen to any of the thousands of other hands within their preferred genre fo music.
This guy killed it at Rockville. Never heard of this band before then and now I'm a big fan. Please come back to Rockville 2025.
Another forgettable song
Exactly, the songwriting is the same crap like the last 2 albums. Heavy doesn't mean it's good imo.
Homies are gonna be stuck playing what is pretty much a parody of what "I like old Architects" fans like for years. Was it worth it for the meme?
Know that a lot of us love you for who you actually are ! I am personally a fan of good heavy DUN DUN DUN and BLEGHs but I also enjoy a lot the rest of your work ! The lyrics are very sad but also incredible and I hope they hit right in the chest the people that are targeted by it.
Liberals ? Hahaha
Nolly and Dan killed the drum production once again. The floor in the chorus sounds massive!
that "blegh" seems personal
This band is awesome. They have a Dry Kill Logic sound.
I feel like I'm one of the few people who actualy enjoyed their last album lmao, but this also goes hard af damnn
I LOVE that album! Every track is special
Trust me your not😂
I enjoyed the last album, but imo not their best album. But hey, thats ok! Still had the singles on repeat. So with this one
Agreed, I really wasn’t a fan at first but I found myself going back to it all the time. Now I love it
I relistened to it a few days ago and I was really strugling to end my listen cause I found Sam's raspy singing not really good in most of the songs and just the writing not interesting. Where For Those That Wish To Exist felt like a huge ambition in changing the sound, the direction, Classic Symptoms felt like the opposite. An album just to have a new one, kind of a shame THIS was the 10th one. But I gotta say Deep Fake, When We Were Young and New Moral Low Ground are bangers with New Moral Low Ground being what I believe one of Architects best songs. But this new Seeing Red is huge. As a non-enjoyer of the last album, I might should not get myself too excited straight but I can't let myself. Sam's screaming and growls are just something else and the instrumental is a heavy fun one for sure.
Been playing this song all day. Can’t get over how good this is. Well done, guys 👏🏻
So I've been listening to Architects for a decade now, been here for everything since Daybreaker and I feel like I need to share my thoughts on the way this band evolved. Because to me, Seeing Red represents this quite well, even though it sounds a bit heavier than their usual releases these past years. I wanna say this: I find it sad that a band that frequently spoke out about injustices and criticised the status quo now feels the need to justify a lack of critical thinking by pointing the finger at idiots who piss about on the internet. Don't get me wrong: It is absolutely understandable to be frustrated when thousands of people listen to your music just to insult you for what you put out. But this sarcastic "Do you hear the audacity? You dummies only live on the internet" attitude just isn't cutting it. I feel like Architects have been repeating this sentiment in about every interview to a point, where it feels like this thought might have eaten up the essence of the band. Hell, they make songs about it now! And I, for one don't care for it anymore. There's so much to be said about why this is happening, about how late stage capitalism is faster than ever turning art into a commodity, about how people lose hope and fear change even musically in a world that is designed to keep them unhappy. There's so much space for intelligent discourse, so much need for more critical lyrics in heavy music. And still, all we get is a provocative "You're only happy when I'm seeing red". As if that wasn't exactly what Eminem was saying for the better part of his pathetic career after Marshall Mathers LP. It just sounds bitter and frankly, I find it somewhat dissapointing. I don't wanna listen to music that blames it's fanbase for idiots or constantly whines about the stupidity of others for "not getting it". This whole "well, we're not talking about you, if you don't threaten us on the internet" shtick is annoying and making songs about it isn't helping. It cultivates a fanbase of snowflakes who view misanthrophy as valid and look down on everyone who dares to criticise their favourite artist. Even if the critique is honest and quite possibly fair. Yes, it is perfectly predictable that even with these lyrics Seeing Red is gonna be flying over some peoples heads. It happens. Look at the comments. And for some reason, I feel like Architects are smirking at this, at how "they're not getting it" instead of focusing on writing the insane quality music we know they can make. This sucks. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
I understand your sentiment but they haven't stopped making music about exactly what you said. Animals, Black Lungs, Giving Blood, Doomscrolling, Living is Killing Us. The last two albums have been echoed the same consistent social commentarys and ties of political awareness just as the previous albums have.
On the other hand, knowing the band and what I expect from them I really find the timing and messaging of the song come at the expense of not using their platform to address current issues in the world. Isreal-Palestine genocide, Anti-trans bills being passed, new waves of Fascism being put in power, green politics being undermined and challenged by oil conglomerates. They, like many of my favourite leftist activists, let the fandom discource get in the way of remaning steadfast to their original campagin.
But, at the end of the day it's their music, platoform, legacy and all that and their at the helm of the discussion so they can do what they want. I just trust that this song is the "drawing the line in the sand" song that ends the discussion about the paradoxical fandom discource and they continue making what they've always been making.
well... you tried...
They took a shit on all the fake fans and the people who sent them death threat
@@TylerDavis-u8b doesnt make the song better at all :)
@@marauder120gb Ok. We have different opinions on this I guess
The perfect combination of older and newer stuff, frick I am so happy I feel like a child haha
Probably going to get major hate for this but my problem with the newer Architects releases wasn’t because “they weren’t heavy anymore”… It was because the songs were starting to sound uninspired, generic, formulaic, and overproduced. This feels the same way to me, just with some added distortion.
I really hate to say it too because I’ve been such a big fan of the band for such a long time- it’s just my honest opinion
Exactly how i feel
Damn guys, this song is fire! Riff with guitar scratches, dynamic pauses in the breakdown, contrast between clean and extreme vocals, Blegh! You guys are the best. Architects forever!!!
The "guitar scratches" thing is called a pick scrape. They're pretty common now and a lot of bands use them, but it wasn't always like that, especially not in metalcore. Gojira popularized the use of pick scrapes. So much so that you'll hear a lot of people refer to them as "Gojira scrapes" Not being condescending, just attempting to be informative.
@@richardsinclair7661let's not forget Morbid Angel. I think Gojira actually got a bunch of their influence from early Morbid Angel.
Awesome ❤😂🎉 !
The part where everyone claps does it for me ! This song is a masterpiece!!!!
Wait people were calling Classic Symptoms poppy?!?! Their last album was packed with a good diversity of heavy hitters. Ya’ll, bands aren’t just here to pump out generic metal song 1&2 and call it a day. Every release is amazing and now we get another.
I love that this is an ironic song (and that some people clearly missed the point if I look at the comments lmao) but this is very very very good. Also last two albums were my favorites so yeah you guys just do whatever you wanna do. ♡

Freaking incredible! Architects killing it again because I wasn't expecting they were going this heavy this time around. 🎧🎶
Absolutely love hearing the lows from Sam. Fantastic track

This song is an absolute banger and I've listened to it at least 30 times today alone. Always giving a reason to keep me listening.
I have been an Architects fan since I discovered them in 2019 and honestly I love all of their works. All albums have something different to share and I love their humanity and the quality of their contents. I’m always happy when they are dropping something new. Keep up the good work, true fans will always be there.
New album sucks. Don't be a naive. The creativity has gone since Tom left. Last good album was Holy Hell. I've been following them since 2009. It's not the same anymore.
I feel like the new stuff (last 2 albums) are poppy and thats why it mostly appeals to the younger (gen z) audience, almost as if the heavy stuff scares them or something lol@@mannyblackstar
@@fourseven6202 which sucks. They should've gone with some banger with this new album for the sake of old fans. Looks like all the attention is for the new audience. It's the same happened with Parkway drive. But I still love PWD. But Architects has sadly turned into Artifacts because they are long gone.
It hurts.
Yeah agree.. happens with most metal bands sadly, they just lose their edge and focus on making money ie becoming more radiofriendly and poppy@@mannyblackstar
@@fourseven6202 maybe next time
Eh 6/10, all started out good then it was a BMTH rip off with the sing song chanting bullshit. Reminds me of "Happy?" by BMTH. Last 2 albums are drink coasters hopefully this has more to it. Just my 2 cents
The two bands are very inspired by eachother and are from the same era so it kinda makes sense. But i think the lyrics are more important than the "chant" in this song. That being said this song is way heavier than Happy.
@@whoadude40 I wouldn't say that. Both bands started in different genres. Architects was more of a djent/progressive band starting out, and stayed that way until they lost Tom
