It's hard to "cover" The Twins as every aspect of their original productions are nuanced at every level. You folks, however, seem to have tapped into that same spirit without sliding into Direct Copy Mode and you manage to add your own flavour to the recipe. The vocal layering (and range! Wow!), musical phrasing, choice of processing (and chords-- that often-overlooked A7 with the bass interplay intones the "Funk" of the title) and the visuals make for a stunning performance! Bravo and well-done! More of this.. more original compositions.. more whatever you want. Just don't stop-- give us more!
Wow, what a spectacular cover, i think i actually like this better than the original bcz of the extra bit at the end. If you gig, id love to see you live ❤❤❤❤
Oh wow, just seen this...posted 25 minutes ago! I read Simon's book recently and he said there are 2 singers not easily covered...one of course being his former band mate Elizabeth.....but you do a grand job 🎉❤ thank you as ever ....autumn is always the time! 🍁🍂💕✨️
@caseyh2115 the book is called 'In One Ear: Cocteau Twins, Ivor Raymonde and Me' by Simon Raymonde. It's absolutely fantastic, not just from a Cocteau Twins fan point of view (which is great in itself). He has many a thrilling and full-on tale to tell. And I love the aspect about his Dad Ivor too 💖
@@veronicabock9114 Veronica I'd never guessed or known.. thank you for your time and care.. I'm on it, thank you again sweetheart, bless you for your tenderness
Love the additional bars you've added at the end to lift it. One of Cocteaus' most beautiful, moving songs and it's no surprise the best cover of it by far I've heard would be completed by you guys. Superb stuff.
Wow! This is a particularly difficult track to cover well and you have excelled here! Loving all the Cocteau twins covers, you have a beautiful voice for this😊
Great cover of a great song, thank you! I'd love to see you guys cover "Heavenly Bodies" by Tamaryn. Very delicate guitar work to be done for that one.
Completely superb! You're really an outstanding vocal talent - I can't thing of many (if any) singers who could think of taking this on. And that lush, dreamy guitar tone is perfectly captured too. You just get better and better.
This is a notoriously difficult song for anyone to master, so congratulations to you Ashen ― Still, I wish you'd consider asking we super-fans who've been dedicated for over 43+ years to find and sing the real lyrics. Afterall, I sincerely believe that most Cocteau Twins newbie fans are attracted to you to guide them through Elizabeth's lyrics. Elizabeth hides many little ques within her lyrics, that usually only matter to herself ― However, others find them erratic and nonsensical when listed out, but they aren't at all. I'd love for you to make your own music, because I believe you need to expand your platform to its limits. There's nothing wrong about covering a Cocteau Twins song, here and there, but you've gained enough followers to self-explore by now.
@@spinglasshydra thank you! And we do have quite a bit of original material already. We hope you’ll check it out! th-cam.com/play/PLF0QTcQkOqu5mjRNNY0zwe8rNV4Ksgr7i.html&si=1xxAOAK2U-LWiZRu
@@AshenRinglets I shall indeed, because your voice is incredible all by itself and it's not easy at all, to try to capture Elizabeth Fraser's vocals. I believe you can and should go beyond this, in your own direction, but I do really appreciate your work so far. Thank You Ashen.....!!!!
Oohh! Fab. Takes me back, what nearly 35 years!!!!
I saw The Cocteau Twins back in the late 1980's...... a life log fan, and this is just awesome! Thanks.
A bright beacon in these dark times. Thank you for your musical talents.
I have no idea how you can keep up with Elizabeth's vocals but you do. Another great track.
You dont stop to surprise me. Amazing production values starting by the music video ❤
Lovely, pure gold, top perfect, absolutely beautiful. You never cease to amaze me!
Love everything in you guys, but the video... WOW

One of the sweetest's song of the Cocteau Twins. I love your version. Thank you so much for renewing their music.
A very faithful sounding cover and yet with a nice degree of your own flavour added in. A win.
