- For basically the first time ever, we've decided to overhaul one of our RTR rc cars, the Redcat racing Camo x4 Pro with some sweet metal parts, sound system, lights throughout, and even an on board dual smoke system!! I love absolutely it with all the mods! ...but Abby's right; I'd have at least done stiffer springs at the same time.
I like it. It's all part of the hobby and everyone has their own personal taste.

Hats off nate, I worked wiring in to my car once and it was a pain. I agree with Abby though. Or you could buy a new one and let her mod it and you get the new chassis if its a show car. If you do decide to go this route, tbone makes some nice durability upgrades for it now.
How about you both get the same buggy/truck/crawler/basher/whatever then spend a fixed amount on mods and let the community pick the winner?

Really not a fan of these smoke machine's, if a 1-1 smoked that much it would be broken down on the side of the road, even a deisel doesn't smoke like they do.
Light bar yep, headlamps no in the light pods would have looked more realistic, where the exhaust's are mounted nope the body wrap has the exhaust outlet's in the wrap design where I would expect to find them.
Spring's yep now you have that heavy sound unit, if it was not there you, could have got away with thicker shock fluid, you may still get away with fluid, trouble with the companies that produce these is they dont have much aftermarket part's back up particularly upgrades, just getting some red ones yep look cool but no guarantee they will be stiffer just a nice colour, so sorry Nate I am with Abby.
I appreciate that we are all different when modding our vehicles and hey it is your buggy if your happy with it so be it, I am one who likes to make mine look as like the vehicle they are based off, rather than just add part's, I alway's look at the vehicle on here in real life to know the vehicle what it is used as and what you can get away with with out too much weight and part's getting broken off.
All but my race vehicles look like they are real when running them, race vehicles bright body colour's and sponser decals. nothing else allowed.
Keep it up I like that you are dabbling in a kit build, doing maintenance and fitting upgrades, remember a lot of alloy part's will be heavy, and may cause more damage as alloy does not spring back to it's original shape.
Nate since she wants to do things her way have her build her own kit her own way.
The intro was pretty neat/cool. I think the mods are right on. The lights for night racing. The motor sound for a big/bad souped up racer. I can sorta go along with Abby, the smoke stacks are a bit out of place on this type of vehicle. The side red lights, no. Sorry Nate, the saying less is more would apply for them. I would also Agree with Abby on the front it looked to be sagging. So now is the time for new shocks, and what ever ya need to strengthen it To bashability.😉. Every man needs a project vehicle. Abby you said that wasn't quite the way you'd go, so how about you taking one of your bashers,and bash mod it to infinity, and beyond. 😊. Ya'll have other bashers so having a project vehicle is A-ok. I added a light bar, beadlock wheels and tires, beefy front bumper with a winch on my Axial SCX10 Deadbolt. I love it! I will upgrade the shocks too. Thanks for the reminder, Abbey. Yes, Nate I will wrangle all of my wires while I have it on the workshop table.
Everyone builds their own that what makes this hobby awesome. I think it looks awesome, I'm not a fan of the stacks but like I said this hobby is about making ourselves happy, if you like that's all that matters.. good video guys

Very nice setup. Those Sense Innovations ESS-Dual+ sound modules are awesome. We have them in our trucks and they really add another dimension to the RC experience.

My favorite thing I think is the speaker,if I have one gripe about everything that rolls is how they sound,they all sound like the cordless drill I use all day at work I know thats how it has to be but please someone invent something quiet.haha
Your wiring looks like mine Nate, it may not be perfect but everything works and the whole thing works for me and that is all that matters.
Maybe Abby could mod her Vaterra or one of the Arrma vehicles you have.

I love the truck Nate. You did an awesome job. But you need to clean the inside of that truck where the wiring is and possibly add some mirror paint to the inside where those lights are to highlight the color and lights. I'm a designer sorry.

Intro was not to bad, you done well..I am on both sides, I like some of the mods but also like Abby I love a basher, and yes Nate you should of upgraded the shocks..the sound machine for motor is totally awesome..

The two of you should pick a vehicle and do a build off over a week or 2. With a certain amount of money that your each aloud to spend? Then do a capability comparison at the end?

For the socks maybe just try stiffer springs and stiffer weight shock oil might be cheaper? Good looking truck. Definitely lowriding right now. ☺⚓

A quick easy way to sort of camouflage wires, like up by the smokers and going to the lights, is to paint them black with a felt marker.

For me I would have skipped the smoke stacks and work towards more scale light mounting. may be for the rear lights you could have added the to a strip of something then mount that to the back vertical piece. I would have preferred the front led to have been sunken back a bit. You could get away with just changing the springs to a set that are firmer ( but you needed to know how much weight was to be added before you know how much harder they need to be).

It's ground clearance has gotten worse and it needs to be cleaned.
I do need to clean it better, but I actually cleaned it a lot, lol. Agreed about the clearance.
Nate's project showed some great examples of how a vehicle can be customized. The coolest aspect is having a vehicle different from everyone else's.

I love LED lights, I want them on all of my RCs (I’ve recently ordered the only rc boat with LEDs..), like also the sound effect while I’ve mixed feelings for smoke effect: it still looks more like vapor than pressured exhaust but all and all it’s cool. A hell of a job congratulations Nate! And Abby please don’t be so severe 😊

The lights are awesome across the board and I like the livery (stickers, etc). Otherwise, Abby is right. A speaker for engine sound and smoke stacks??? 😂 Get some suspension and body parts to keep the truck durable for life. #teamabby

Nice mods Nate....Just bought my first Crawler yesterday.
I am completely hooked...The brand is called Red5 I think it's just a begginer machine as it has two motors on each end.
I spent hours driving it around the apartment and even spent some time just driving it up and down the couch with me stretched out.
Thanks for introducing me to a new experience in this great hobby...Already considering parting with a couple of my drones😁
I like it Nate...GREAT job! Since Abbey you do not like it, you need to mod one for yourself! However, the shocks really do need to be changed.
Hi guys, love what you have done with the truck Nate👍, only mod i can think of that would make it more pimped is installing a servo so the drivers head turns when you turn the wheels. But have to say I'm with Abbey i normally just go for performance mods😀. Anyway great work keep it up.

Liked the intro. Don't like the smoke stacks. For lights I would have stopped at head lights, tail lights and light bar. I think kids would really dig the sound on a monster truck but what you have is, for me, way to expensive.

Definitely upgrade the shocks...and the intro was very cool! Everyone has different visions of their vehicles and they ate all valid. If you're happy and proud Nate, that's all that matters. 😁

@@TheRcSaylors I think about you guys every time I take my RC sailboat out. You can launch and recover it by holding the top of the mast. That spot you occasionally go to with the little wooden pier should be fine.
I think it would have looked better on like a crawler not a huge basher type vehicle that's gonna be hitting jumps and going crazy. I guess I would think those upgrades would break easily on that type of vehicle.

Yup, lame, hardened gears, better shocks, and I have to say engine sound is as stupid as angry eyes on a jeep. But to each their own. Your fake exhaust will get torn off on your first run. Just another yeti ripoff. Hey if you've got money to flush and you want to destroy your rigs performance then buy smoke stacks, lights and a sound kit.
I think the lights are fine but the smoke is something to think about just because if you go out bashing you probably going to get mud or sand stuck in them. And the sound system is something to really think about too just because it’s the most second expensive thing on the truck. But it’s a great looking truck!! c:
And the shocks probably just need thicker oil, a shock spacer and probably needs to be mounted on a different hole.
I really like the light bar...but those lights in the front and back...not so much. Still, it's not my truck, it's yours, Nate, and if you are happy with it, then that is what is most important.
Some smoke detectors were harmed in the making of this video, or at least its opening.
I like it, and agree with both of you, flash is great, but it also needs to be a bullet proof beast that can not only out show all the others, but it can also out preform all others. It would become the one you take when everyone gets together to go rc on trails or other things.
Something you might do, not sure if it would work, in rc tanks the smoke unit splits into 2 pipes, and uses standard aquarium air pump plumbing you could try getting a y joint and some extra tubing, split off 1 of your smoke generators to go to both of the stacks, it would both free up space inside your build but would also eliminate the 2nd battery, you can also get some, although i would be surprised if you dont already have them, connectors, and crimp tool set, to allow you to shorten the wires to be exactly the length you need for each one, lots more work, but in the end makes hiding the wires tons easier.
Abbey, now its your turn to make a show basher, spend what he did, and if he upgrades anything else you have that additional budget, and show us what you would do. Then, i think a head to head is in order :)
Edit: also, i agree with some of the others that have posted about the red lights on the side, not about them being there so much as where they are, you could angle them down, or, remove them entirely and replace it with one up front of a scanning red strip like was on KITT from knightrider, you can find those for about $15
Pretty cool! One question though, could you not have put the smoke stacks lower? Seems to me that they stick up and could be torn off if you would roll over. Just something that I noticed. I like the way you mounted the headlights, I think they look good there instead of lower as you pointed out.
Totally agree with Abby on this. A basher should not have all these things on. I understand your idea Nate but it belongs on a crawler instead.
Never a waste of time and money if you enjoy it Nate. The only things I am not keen on are the smoke stacks. Two reasons - firstly the smoke comes out too slowly, but more importantly, if the engine was pushing out that much smoke it would be in serious trouble!
Well Nate I have to agree with Aby on this one you turned a basher in to a show buggy congratulations. I have to admit giving it a bath before showing it off in a video might have been nice. If it were me I would have spent the time changing all the bushing out for bearings than added all the titanium parts could find to the chassis everything from shock towers to skid plate. then added a bigger motor changed out the sur gear and the pinon gear. upgraded the and the ESC to handle more power. gone to a spectrum radio and added a wider set of tires anda wheelie bar. along with a good solid bumper front and rear.
Oh and Nate your pipes are in the wrong place if you look at the paint scheme on the body you should have dual pipes coming out just behind the front tire on the drivers side.
