I am using here 18-55 Nikon kit lens.
Let’s take a few pictures without any filters and white balance set to auto.
Now this is the 720nm filter and custom white balance I will set to a gray card.
Let’s take a few pictures without the 720nm filter and see how it looks with the custom white balance that is already set.
Here is the 590nm infrared filter. No matter what I have tried the custom white balance was not accepted. So, most likely we can’t set custom white balance on Nikon D3100 with our 590nm infrared filter.
So we need to take RAW images and set custom white balance in Photoshop.

try to use the white balance you obtain from 720nm when using 590nm.. it works well for me

when your camera was converted to full spectrum did you install the filter after the sensor? or just removed the hot mirror?
No, no filter necessary.
I just did that to my old D3100 today, but I have focusing issue with my wide angle lens. Infinite focus is well beyond infinite sign. Should I let more space between the sensor and the frame where it is mounted?
For full spectrum mod you shift the sensor by 0.3 mm to the front.
Did you have your d3100 converted? If so, how much was it?
