Simply wonderful!!!! I was around twelve years old when I was invited to a recording session and was sat by Dick at the piano. The music that was about to be recordrd was black with notes. Dick, a young man, emptied his pockets onto the desk of the piano, arched his back and then flawlessly sightread the composition. I was floored. He's only gotten better and better through the following decades.
Dick human is absolutely the best all around pianist ever,he can do it all,he was even admired by Tatum when dick was a young man....what really sets him apart in stride for instance is his right hand, his knowledge and playing of scales is beyond even most of the greatest in stride,Tatum was a great influence their. But dick can play it ,and use it...and correctly ..I can't say enough about how great he is...and I've heard them all...

One of the absolutely best Dick Human's solo performances. Clarity and precision of spirit, thought and sound!
That "Sweet Georgia Brown" : amount and intensity of "brain work" that went into there is just simply unbelievable!
Whatever he's playing, right across the jazz spectrum, he's absolutely second to none.
To me he's second to James P. Johnson and Willie the Lion Smith but yes about just second or third
Every tone so clear. Nearly without using pedals. It swings fantastic. I will place him among the greatest jazzpianist ever lived.
I remember watching this back then... great musician. I don't think anyone will ever play swing as well as the master!
Unbelievable. Without peer.
How many people does Hyman have up there?❤

Adorable. Thanks for uploading. Greetings from Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 👍🏻💜🖖🏼
Thanks for uploading it! This is gold!
Lots of piano players play very fast. Very few play with the kind of precision that Dick Hyman routinely displays.
A lot of piano - just how long is this lot of piano - maybe 30 ft.?
He is soo good, no surprise that Art Tatum complimented Him, well, I have to get back to practice 🥴
