    I have one as my every day runner, bloody love it. I have an after market exhaust on it and this adds to the auto blip rev matching as you change down when its in sport mode.
    I'm surprised you never did that, although you may not have known 😉
    But we X150 owners know🤗
    Loved the video mate, thankyou.

      There is much difference between this and xkr 4.2?

  • @rennwolfwolfgangkriegl
    @rennwolfwolfgangkriegl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I would so love to own one, as I personally think it is one of the best GTs ever made. Certainly one of the prettiest! However, being 6"4 and having particularly long legs, I don't fit comfortably behind the wheel of an XK. I test drove one about 2 years ago and sadly had to return it after just a couple of minutes. Breaks my heart...

    • @reality-cheque
      @reality-cheque 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm 6'3" with longish (34") legs and my brother is 6' 6" and we both fit fine. There's a German guy who has (enthusiastically) reviewed the 5.0L XK convertible, who is 6'4".
      I don't know which model you tried but the older 4.2L (without the air-cooled seats) has more leg-room and I think the convertible has more headroom, than the coupe.
      It's worth trying a few - if you're still interested.

      @@reality-cheque Thank you for your comment and the info. Since posting my thoughts on the XK, I have talked to a friend who recommended I try the XK8 for space. I did and have recently bought a Final Edition Coupé. I am very happy with it and fit perfectly fine. 😉 Cheers!

      Older cars will always be needier than newer ones and as parts become rarer, they become more expensive. I think the values in Europe may be higher than in the UK. 2006 cars can be had fro around £7k and 2008 cars for around £10k. As I mentioned, I would always buy the newest car I could afford. Have you driven both?

    • @robertdrum6857
      @robertdrum6857 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Remember, its a huge difference between a xk and a xk8. The xk8 is the older generation. The newer generation xk’s from 2006-2014 is the best;)

    The DB9 was designed by Henrik Fisker, not Ian Callum.
    Callum designed the DB7 and the 2001 Vanquish - which shares many design cues with the all-aluminium XK (X150).
    I had a Vanquish (new from the factory in 2002) but I now drive a 2014 XK - which is more enjoyable, more usable, more reliable, more subtle and more rewarding.
    The Jaguar gearbox is superior, the interior better put together, the seats (far) more comfortable, the performance is similar and the view from the door mirrors is too! The sound is different but just as good...
    Every time I get into the Jag, I feel as if I've 'nicked it' - given how little I paid for it.
    At any price it's still the best gentleman's GT, ever made.
    A Bentley Continental GT comes close but it's too 'chav' or brash to be gentlemanly - not subtle at all!
