Well I saw Piazza play, but I also saw Johnny Bench. So, Mike was great, but Bench is the best I’ve ever seen. IMHO. 🤷‍♂️

I played with Mike for a few seasons. Great guy and actually very funny guy. Many stories we'd share during batting practice. He worked his butt of to get his many accolades

Mike P. is a Class Act! We all know about his Clutch Hitting, but he was very good behind the Plate too! Only tool he lacked was a Powerful Throwing arm. When The Mets got him in that tumultuous Weekend trade with The Marlins / Dodgers, he helped Turn around that Team going forward. It was heart breaking to lose to The hated Yankees in 2000 WS (we had those two first games !!! but poor relief pitching did us in). He is definitely in the anals of Mets Lore forever.
