So If This was Recorded In April 1989, Kurdt would have been playing his first Left-Handed Guitar which was a 70s Fender Mustang with No electronics or Pickguard/Control Plate, Which Cobain paid $20 for from a Student at the Evergreen State College, Olympia, WA after Kurt Smashed his Univox Hi-Flier Phase 3 on 10/30/1988. The Fender Mustang was Originally Red so either the Original owner or Kurt sanded the body down to the Bare Wood, and Kurt added a Soundgarden Sticker to the Upper body, then used parts from his Smashed Univox Hi-Flier, he Used the Univox Hi-Flier Bridge Humbucker which he drilled Into the Body, then used the Broken Bottom Half of the Univox Hi-Flier Pickguard as a Mustang Control Plate, He used The Mustang Pots (Volume/Tone/Input Jack), and had the Univox Toggle Switch above the "Broken Univox Pickguard Mustang Control Plate" but it wasn't even connected to anything and Kurt just covered It with tons of Silver Duct tape, and Used the Univox Vol/Tone Knobs, It had a Blank Headstock... It was used live on NIRVANA's next live show which was November 23, 1988 at Speedy O'Tubbs Rhythmic Underground, Bellingham, WA. And see during the December 88 Rehearsals In the Apartment above Maria's Hair Design, Aberdeen, WA. (Seen on the With The Lights Out Boxset DVD). Also at the December 21, 1988 - Eagles Hall/Foe Aerie 252, Hoquiam, WA. And December 28, 1988 - The Underground, Seattle, WA. (It was used December 24 & 29-31, 1988 at Reciprocal Recording Seattle, WA to finish recording the rest of the Bleach Album "Scoff", "Mr. Moustache", "Sifting", "About A Girl", "Blew", "Swap Meet", "Negative Creep", "School", "Big Long Now", "Hairspray Queen"(this version Unsurfaced), And "Paper Cuts"(Backing Vocal Track) as this version of Paper Cuts is from the January 23, 1988 Dale Demo, Session...) By January 6, 1989 when Nirvana played at Satyricon, Portland, OR Kurt had made a Home Made Vinyl Pickguard from a Christian Sermon by Thomas Road Baptist Church called "Where Are The Dead?" It was used up until April, right before April Kurt Removed the Home Made Vinyl Record Pickguard and Soundgarden Sticker and painted the body Surf Green, and Added a Fender White Mustang Pickguard (which he modified the bridge pickup slot to fit over the Univox Hi-Flier Humbucker... This is the version of The Univox Mustang Hybrid seen on the Cover of the "Bleach" Album. So as this song was recorded In April 1989 Kurt is most likely playing This Surf Green Fender Mustang with Univox Hi-Flier Electronics In It... Btw, Is It just me or does 0:57-1:05 sound like one of them is playing the chords to "Molly's Lips"?
Hey everyone, Debug of formerly 404TV here. This is going to be a long-winded comment, so apologies for it being off-topic. The original upload of this song along with the A-side are now gone; as of October 2024, the 404TV channel was terminated due to copyright strikes from Toei Animation and a dangerous individual by the name of JJ Plagarisms. All of my Nirvana reconstructions and restorations are now gone. And I do not plan on ever returning to concert restorations. I planned to quit the game fully, but the termination of my old channel made it very emotionally taxing. So if you have any of my videos backed up at all, feel free to reupload them with or without credit. I'm re-subbed to the channel either way, and am lookong forward to binging all these videos again. Have a good one, and see you whenever lol
How have I never even HEARD of this before? It makes me wonder about all of the other songs/jams/etc I'm still unaware of? I consider myself a pretty knowledgeable fan of Kurt and Nirvana but it never ceases to amaze me how often I still to this day see pics of Kurt/Nirvana I've never seen and random jams like these I've never heard until now!? It's awesome yet kinda frustrating at the same time. I commend you on your vast knowledge of everything concerning Kurt Cobain. It's seriously impressive! How often do you check out the site Live Nirvana? And where/how do you obtain all your information? Thanks in advance!
i source a lot of my information from livenirvana, i believe that's where i first became aware of this song. the info pages/forum are a great resource. i also use google, reddit, facebook, random fan pages, whatever i can find, but ofc i take those unofficial sources with a grain of salt
@@rarestnirvana I see. Yeah Reddit tends to have really interesting info even if it's not all so accurate I've still found some of the most fascinating stuff from there in particular. I've also found some extremely personal and childhood info about Kurt on YT comments. One guy that grew up with Kurt in Aberdeen as a kid (he in my opinion proved this through enough verified type of info and many agreed) and had cool stories such as when Kurt burned his hand on I believe it was an oven when french fries I think were being made(?). It's nothing groundbreaking but I love those intimate and little known stories that only a few of us diehard fans know of. You've really done us Kurt/Nirvana fans an important service of bringing us these hard to find tidbits of my personal favorite musician and top 3 favorite bands (Metallica and Pantera being my other 2 favorites with Oakland, Californias Thrash/Groove/Hip-Hop metal band Machine Head being up there too. They did a kickass version of "Negative Creep" I highly recommend y'all check out! Thanks again for all that you do!
@@rarestnirvana Oh and here's an idea 💡 for a video. Collect all of the Nirvana/Kurt cover songs you can gather and put them all in one video. I'd be happy to assist you in that. I don't think I've ever seen that put together in one video? It's possible that Spotify/Apple Music/Pandora/YT Music/etc may already have a playlist but I kinda doubt it. Please tell me what you think? Some really great ones I can think of off the top of my head are Fear Factory - "School", Machine Head - "Negative Creep", Post Malone did a whole "Pandemic Nirvana cover songs" set here on TH-cam and I gotta say he absolutely killed it! He covered songs like "Lounge Act" and put so much passion into it. Check it out if you haven't already.
KURT took a lot Inspiration from Girly Bands Like Shonen Knife / Bikini Kill and many too. Vaselines. But too Smithereens. Actually the Beatles from New Jersey 😂

Cool
kinda reminds me of Marquee Moon by Television and Shocker in Gloomtown by Guided by Voices
Mollys lips????
Not to be confused with the English band The Go! Team
