Ppl in India loved to take a Selfi with foreigner because. Ppl in India feel blessed that the people from other countries came in India and exploring India.. That's the pretty awesome feeling for us..
That's for most of the urban educated people. But the rural people take selfies because they are mostly obsessed with fair skinned people. And never seen foreign men and woman in their lives.

My dad recently went to China on a business trip (He is a south Indian). While he was there, he went to see The Great Wall Of China.
While he was on the wall, a little girl walked up to him and asked him if she could take a picture with him.
He was surprised because he was not a celebrity, yet 2-3 people asked him for pictures. When he enquired he found that it was very rare to find a foreigner in that part of China.
Similarly it is rare to find a foreigner on the streets during holi in India. So people tend to ask for selfies.
Not a big deal.

To celebrate Holi go to Brindavan / Vrindavan ( Towns Name ), Holi in India sort of originated from here , while rest of India Holi festival is a day or a couple of days affair ,here it last almost a month. Many local traditions involved as it's home turf of Lord Sri Krishna.( Hindu God)

1. Go to a friend's place to celebrate holi cause it gets super wild in some places...it is better to be surrounded by people you know and trust.
2. Indians take pictures with random foreigners because we as a race are so facinated with foreigners trying out our culture and lifestyle.
3. Holi colors are sold streetside but on Holi they are piled up in plates and trays (sometimes mixed with flower petals) so that people can just grab some in the heat of the moment. Every residential area has their own system of making the colors and water available for the people who live there or come to play.
4. Mostly all festivals that we celebrate are about sharing and coming together so even if you are a stranger, you wont be turned away (unless you're creepy).

2:55 Bhaang is an edible preparation of cannabis originating from the India. It has been used in drink called "thandai" made of chilled milk, sugar, almonds, green cardamom, saffron, and bit of peppercorns specially made on holi! If you want you guys can try it out without Bhaang but with bhaag it double the fun 😬 🍻

I have been requesting Lahu Munh Lag Gaya for months now.
India is a homogeneous country. Which means almost more than 95% of population is Indians. We rarely see foreigners and most of them are tourists. So whenever Indians see foreigners especially celebrating our festivals with us, its a rare sight and so they take photos with them.

Meeting a foreigner is the closest experience to travelling many people will ever have here in India. Many people never get to travel much. Most of us never have seen a white people in person, and we are not shy to initiate. We Love people- all kinds of them.
Also social media is a big thing here, so sharing selfies with foreigners is a way of saying "look, I've got friends all over the world, I'm so cool".

Korbin, dont be stupid, of course we have to buy the colours 😂... it is very common in India for people to take pictures with foreigners, sometimes it is plain curiosity many times it is not. Unfortunately Indians (not all but many) have a fascination for the white skin and I believe it is an inferiority complex because we were ruled by the British for so long that people have come to equate colour with superiority/ power/ upper class. But it is changing.
We had a discussion on this forum the other day that do you guys get more subscribers because we need the white guy validation. I think yes and no. For some yes but mostly no now.

a large population of India is mainly lower middle class and lower economic class...so they don't understand english much.... most of us who r interested in cinema apart from bollywood are familiar with foreigners and to us it is normal to see a foreigner here but for those people it is fascinating to see new people...they are curious about them and it is kind of an accomplishment for them to meet different people since they cannot travel abroad and meet them..that is why the pictures...
