Just took the one I purchased in late 70’s out of the garage and it powered up. Probably hasn’t been used since mid 80’s. Has the static power issue with flickering lights and one of the 20 amp fuses is blown. I can’t find a replacement fuse the exact length & that’s frustrating me. I really want to get this cleaned and serviced professionally. Then get vintage speakers and a turntable. Oh, as I remembered from 40 years ago, the FM reception is horrible.
I had a Lafayette LR 3030A. It was a fantastic receiver. Great sound, Like you said very much like a Yamaha. When it finally died i purchased a Yamaha CR 1020 because it sounded very much like the Layette. Still have the Yamaha!
I have a Lafayette LR 5555A receiver and love it. Was not aware the 3030 had three bands of tone control, that would make it a very good entry level receiver. This whole line with the lr15 1515 at the bottom and the LR 9090 at the top are really great receivers.
