As someone in his late 20s, I'm realizing... Whenever my family needs to move, I need to find a house being sold by a fellow music collector who built their own custom shelving or a music shed, so I can just acquire such cool storage! 😆
After learning that Mr. Giroux has 7000 CDs, suddenly my paltry 1200 discs doesn't seem like such an extravagance. That backyard music shed looks great! If there's an award for best Music Den I think that one would be a strong contender for the win.
Hi Frank .the post I allways love your posts on music rooms ..they are quite amazing. But for some as like me space is very limited .so big speakers are out of the question. BUT I have I think come up with a solution (early days yet) I acquired two SONY sound bars .Now what I have done is to connect the left and right ( channels ) together on the bars useing two rca plugs and one socket. So now one sound bar is my left hand channel and the outher is the right hand channel. And Put them in a vertical orientation.with the remote you can increase or decrease the volume on either bars or both .I run my Marantz CDR 630 Cd player though them . With pretty good results .keep up the good work Frank regards from over the pond
I have a 30x40 ft. shop that I added a 3 ton mini split. Use the front half for work and the back half for home theater/ music room, works great. It’s about 75 ft. from the house but my wife still complains about the noise.
I love the first one. The set up is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Possibly the best one to date for me. The guy who loves the 13th Floor Elevators, King Crimson and Guinness has very good taste.
Yes, in the 80s CDs were more expensive and vinyl WAS cheaper, but back then everything wasn't printed on 180 graham vinyl. That was reserved for labels like Mobile Fidelity.
Always nice to watch this videos. I'm still hoping to see someone done tv/listening/collection room to small bedroom. And that is also good for wife. mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Great rooms, it's interesting to see what others are up to in terms of room setups and gear. Amazing how many of us switched from vinyl to cd then eventually back to vinyl.
Thanks Frank, lots of feedback from my co-workers & friends. The Studio or as my family calls it, "The Boujee" has heat/AC and is insulated quite well. I suppose with really cold weather the heat would be on all the time. Summers out here in Virginia (especially this year) do get hot, so AC is a must.
Completely agree about the Technics 1200. I hired an high-end audio installer to pick out a stellar turntable for me, back in the 90s. I was willing to spend some real cash. After doing the research he told me, "Hey, you can spend a ton of money for a work of art, but none of the uber-expensive turntables have better specs than the Technics." I've had it ever since and it's a dream come true.
Good Vinyl Dens episode. My question is, Frank would you be inclined to believe that this series helps to inspire others to have a dedicated listening space like these?
All excellent setups though I'm curious - have you had (m)any submissions from the ladies? I love the first one with the backyard studio layout and silver and wooden Pioneers, but the Blu-rays without their sleeves is making my OCD twitch haha. The second one looks incredibly relaxing. The One Up arcades look amazing, in my last house I had a vintage 80s machine modded to play anything. Love the college style cinder block shelf!
Hello Just for clarification and your information my cd’s are all by genre and alphabetical so as my lp’s.The big wall is almost all jazz and the rest is various.A little correction it’s over 7000 cd’s that I own and 2000 lp’s.Continue those great vinyl den videos they are great.
Love it! Great pics! Glad you are adopting more neutral accent. Love the project instead of pro-ject. No just work on the out. It is pronounce like 'owt' and not 'oat'. lol
Welcome back Frank! Once more you have placed me in a state of euphoria bliss! I'm totally loving these Music/Media room videos. More please 😊

Thank you, Frank.
Thanks for showing.

Damn, those pioneer spec 1's and 2's are awesome
Some really nice gear in these rooms.
I love the first one. The set up is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Possibly the best one to date for me.
The guy who loves the 13th Floor Elevators, King Crimson and Guinness has very good taste.
Love these type of vids. Great ideas! Gives me hope for my basement when I start finishing it ...
So many cool options and things that can be done
Awesome rooms! Great backyard studio. I have the weather in sunny California, but my backyard is too small. Thanks for this video.
That was a great episode
Thanks - these are always fun to put together.

I started with cd’s . Went to Vinyl.
Back to cd.
Now I I wish there more Blu ray
audio releases.
Jim White is my hero. Wished I lived closer to him so we could hang out in his man cave on regular bases.

Good Vinyl Dens episode. My question is, Frank would you be inclined to believe that this series helps to inspire others to have a dedicated listening space like these?
Thanks. Hmmmm... good question. Maybe inspires... or gives ideas? Otherwise, it's also just fun to see what others have done.

Hmmm... now that you mention it, I have never received a Vinyl Dens submission from a woman. I hope that changes in the near future.

Thanks for the clarification, and thanks for sharing the images and info!
Soundbars are for the bedroom.
on the weekend i got 3 CD's for $1.50 LOL
Where are cds cheap? I have been watching the prices of new music rivaling the early 90s pricing lately, so I just stopped buying for awhile. Am_
