    It doesn't surprise me that the story of Troy is Kratos favorite poem
    Its right up there with Thermopylae in Spartas greatest hits

    I wonder if this means that Kratos was friends with or at least served under Odysseus, since he specifically compliments him here

      @@benragnarsson7228 God of War has never really been accurate with the mythology timeline. For instance, Perseus is depicted as being younger than Theseus despite dying generations before he was born, and Hercules is younger than Theseus despite most Greek texts suggesting that Hercules is older or that they were the same age.

      we know that he was alive and mortal during Leonidas' time thanks to the flashbacks in Ascension. he likely saw Troy during his time as Ares' replacement

    Poems often romanticize reality and the real story of the Trojan war is obviously a subject kratos avoids . For a god of war that has been alive for centuries , I wonder how bad the event had to be to remain a black moment in kratos memory.

    Dude, I really don't like this dialogue. Kratos was definitely not alive when the Trojan war took place. Sparta did not even exist yet. It was the mycenaeans, precursors of the Greeks, who sacked Troy.

    • @purpskud6925
      @purpskud6925 ปีที่แล้ว

      But in seriousness, I never really inferred he was really *there* there
      Cuz the war was before Sparta was formed
      But then again, Kratos is old as dirt
      So he could've been there with the mycenaeans and or trojans
      ...Somehow.
      OR most likely the writers for this bit of dialogue didn't take into account how that war predates even Kratos, Deimos, and the entirety of Sparta.
      COMPLETE 180 from what I originally said, I know, but I admit that I didn't really catch Kratos' sly little "Yes."
      Another theory, Kratos is a liar.

      OSP (Overly Sarcastic Productions) does a really good retelling of it w/original art (OSP Illiad should get you there). It's not the shorter form poetry we're used to, but more of a novel. Idk where to read an accurate version though
