I guess when Thor said "This looks familiar" in his fight with Kratos after Leviathan Axe and Mjolnir collided, maybe he was referring to his fight with Faye.
Thor wanted the real God of war and got a glimpse, and got the axe scar for it. Faye matching kratos, being capable of defeating thor and having been the mate of kratos shows just how much of a badass she was. It's likely she was the giants queen or God, and her people trusting her brought her to Kratos and thus made Loki, the destined chosen God to return them and free them from the clutches of Odin
to be fair the thor she fought was extremely drunk and most likely off his game, and they never specified a winner. it didnt sound like she was beating him at all
In the god of war comics, kratos actually fought faye for days when they first met, and it ended as a draw, its obvious that faye are ridiculously strong

Kratos>Zeus>=Odin>Thor>Faye>Baldur>Heimdall. Faye was strong but still below Thor and Odin in terms of strength. Even Thor could beat Kratos when he was half dead.
This is probably below the Thor fight feat, more of a Kratos feat. As Kratos had only recently arrived to Midgard, probably tired as shit, and didn't want have any weapons, while Faye was armed with Leviathan axe and was adapted to her surroundings. Faye probably loses to Thor 8 out of 10 times, so she's probably slightly above Heimdall in strength. Still the strongest female character probably rivalled by Athena only.
If you remember thor said when fighting kratos the first time ,when they clashed their weapons making a thunderus tree he said that it reminds me something or looks familiar or some shit ...it was his battle with Faye
Faye could lift logs as effortlessly as Kratos Its no surprise that she could go toe-to-toe with Thor, especially as Faye didn't have any kind of horrid, shameful past that would make her hold back like Kratos
I understand it probably hurt Kratos that Faye kept stuff like that secret from him, but at the same time I feel like he would be saying "That was my wife :D"

They are turning Faye now into another Elizabeth Sobeck. The departed Mary Sue who had answers to everything. Yet in part 1 they said she was sent by her kind to seek help and given the Ax to bestow on the saviour she was to find (Kratos). Now all of a sudden she could beat Thor.... The same Thor portrayed as near unbeatable in part 1??? Who kicked Gnomingandar back to the past? Lol.... Ok, tell us more
Actually even in the real mythology Faye/ Lauffey was considered one of the archenemies of Odin so it's understandable if she stood upto Thor and had some chance against him.
Oh for fucks sake why can’t women be strong without being called a Mary Sue. She was a giant queen, giants are comparable to Gods and on top of that are formidable warriors.
@@na.meless the Mythology paints the giants as evil and the Aesir as the noble and good folks. This whole slaying all gods theme depends on painting all gods as evil so man can overcome and become god for himself. That's the whole point of the god of war IP from David Jaffe's 1st script. So making the giants the victims is true to that theme. As Zeus was evil so must Odin... Then the move to other mythology
No. She didn't beat Thor. She stalemated him. It's also stated that Thor was drunk and not taking the fight seriously in another dialogue. Kratos actually fought a sober Thor that was out for kratos head in the second fight because Thor though kratos was trying to kill his daughter yet kratos still beat him while holding back and spared him.
To be honest, all you need to beat Thor, is to spray oil on him & put him on fire 🔥, Unless there is water or a well nearby, he won’t be getting out of that situation alive
Thats why thor said " this feels familiar" but he didn't finish what he was saying but I knew when they would cast their ax and Hammer he was remembering her
The best part of the side quest is that people seem to forget is that you are never told who won. Faye didn't beat Thor in this fight otherwise Thor would still be dead. It was clearly at best a stalemate and the destruction probably stopped the fight from continuing. But for the sake of views people make the titles misleading to the actual storyline of the quests
Doubt it'll be seconds. Although I don't doubt a blood lusted Kratos would win against Thor, it would probably be a hard-fought battle. You're really underselling Thor or overselling Kratos. Thor's got his own sets of feats to be feared, from being the one to kill of most of the Jotuns(practically Gods in their own right) and literally hitting Jormungandyr so hard that he went back in time. Faye also was someone who actually fought Kratos to a stand still when he just arrived in the Norse mythology, young, brash, and hella bloodlusted. The Leviathan axe also was created to match Mjolnir too.
@@imed-ha77 and then she died. She's not the strongest. She's the Jotun's champion, but she couldn't even win the war against the Aesir. Don't oversell her.
This is why thor said "this feels familiar" when he and Kratos clashed the leviathan and mjolnir in their first fight and the lightning strike was frozen
"A Fair-haired Warrior".... And "furious woman" could also be reference to Lady Sif, who was also the only Woman who could Match Thor... Both in Drinking & Fighting.
Incorrect. Kratos is stated to be holding back this entire time, and she didn't actually beat Thor. Compare these two fights here. Faye, Champion of the Giants (the NEMESIS of the Aesir), wielding a weapon made to counter Mjollnir, vs a PISS DRUNK bored and uncaring Thor. OR Kratos, Slayer of Gods, HOLDING BACK, wielding the same weapon but IMBUED WITH EITR WHICH IS THE VENOM THAT KILLS THOR IN THE MYTH, vs a Bloodlusted and SOBER Thor who believes Kratos is going to Kill his Daughter. You people ignore context just to grasp at smoke.
You notice this too huh? It’s so cringe worthy. 1st game makes it clear Thor never got the opportunity to face her. Though he was hunting her and was implied she was lucky and was avoiding Thor at all costs. But NOW she’s his equal. In what world? This is the kinda nonsense that leads to delusions such as ‘equality’in a world where nothing has ever been equal.
Faye is a Jotunn. Also God and Goddess is just a title since Aesir Gods came from Jotunn. Odin's ancestors are Jotunns like Ymir. They are just considered God because they are worshipped but Jotunns are not.
Cry some more, ξένε. Also in ancient Sparta, women had the same rights as men in contrast to other city states. I dare you to call them feminist as well.
No he isn't , literally the only characters who could even hold themselves in front of him are Kratos , odin , fey and heimdal maybe But even he and fey would've eventually lost to him , fey survived cuz he was drunk and heimdall isn't foolish enough to just pick a fight with Thor, we saw that in the game
He smacked Jorgmunder into the past and almost singlehandedly wiped out the Jotuns. I would hardly call that weak. Faye just fought him to a standstill one time.
What? First the fight has no clear winner and thor is drunk af like the scene where atreus and his daughter tried to get him his fighting is described as sloppy. And we literally see him smash the world serpent so hard that it goes back in time. Killed kratos and revived him in their first fight.
We watched Thor kill Kratos and bring him back to life and that’s when he wasn’t trying to kill him and now the writers are out of the blue saying she could not only fight him one on one but beat him? Thor is the strongest aesir God in terms of brute strength. The writers kinda shat all over the mythology and it shows. I hate made up contrivances.
Lol no... well, you're confused and forgetful. During the GoW 2018 and Ragnarök, Kratos DID NOT have god magic, let alone any real magic like he did in the past. Just little pieces of runes and charms blah blah blah. It's a Sony game, so they made it look cool and pleasing to the eye, but that stuff was not actually supposed to be on the level of the Greek stuff. It wasn't enough to kill Baldr (do you not remember Loki having to CALL the world serpent)?? Do you NOT remember the struggle Kratos had with Baldr twice due to no magic? Do you not remember all the help Kratos needed from Freya (to heal his son who almost died, to 'reanimate' Mimir's head, to get the light crossways going, etc.), Mimir (needing his second eye, being needed to speak to the World Serpent before Loki could as a Giant.. that happens when his eyes glow...), and others because he DID NOT have GOD MAGIC... Kratos also cannot read a lot of things that his son can through his son's unbeknownst Giant Magic, but he could not without his God Magic... And so now, during the first fight in Ragnarök, Thor had GOD MAGIC and Kratos DID NOT (he also just slumbered for who knows how long), and Thor said he was COLLECTING a BLOOD PAYMENT (which DID NOT imply death, only pain/loosh). The Lady (the mermaid) that Brok and Kratos meet with much later in that game... that godly magical item they take to her to MAKE a full sword with the GOD'S BLOOD (creating.. GOD MAGIC)... yeah that, THAT'S when Kratos FINALLY actually gets some real magic. And that's how Heimdall goes. And that thing with Surtr? Ah, there we go, some more magic... And THAT'S how Kratos can ACTUALLY defeat Thor and Odin... Without it... nope, would've made Baldr look like nothing and game over... There's LOTS of soy and w*ke BS in Ragnarök. But that writing hole you think exists? Doesn't. No, there actually is sense, not "contrivances".
She is a Jotun, their champion "Laufey", wielding a weapon specifically made to MATCH Mjollnir, while Thor is so PISS DRUNK that he forgets the fight ever happened. The Title is clickbait, she didn't beat him, otherwise he would be DEAD. The fight likely ended in a draw, or with her being able to buy enough time for people to evacuate and then dip. This is not Wokeness at all, if it was, she would have outright won, Thor would've been scarred and remembered the event, and there would be some dumbfuck speech at some point over it. Y'all are the fucking worst.
When I first saw the Frozen Lightning in Vanaheim, I instantly had to find out how it happened, I managed to get closer to it too (after three dragons, two ogres a few Drekis, Travelers, Trolls, a berserker soul, Seidrs and a Hunter).

Faye herself admitted she couldn't win against the gods and it was stated by Mimir that Faye's rebellion against the gods was defeated which is why she went into hiding in the woods and gave the axe to kratos who was suppose to be the champion chosen by the giants according to the mural. they thought all along it would be Loki but it was kratos who saves the giants which is why the final mural showed kratos being loved by all creatures in the realms. Lokis role is basically to save the giants from those orb things but kratos role was to lead and defeat the aesir.
Thank you 👍🏻
great comment!!!
Bro relax it’s just a game
No
I'm not reading all that💀💀💀 good for you tho my man
I guess when Thor said "This looks familiar" in his fight with Kratos after Leviathan Axe and Mjolnir collided, maybe he was referring to his fight with Faye.
Thor wanted the real God of war and got a glimpse, and got the axe scar for it. Faye matching kratos, being capable of defeating thor and having been the mate of kratos shows just how much of a badass she was. It's likely she was the giants queen or God, and her people trusting her brought her to Kratos and thus made Loki, the destined chosen God to return them and free them from the clutches of Odin
to be fair the thor she fought was extremely drunk and most likely off his game, and they never specified a winner. it didnt sound like she was beating him at all
Lol we can't give credit where it's due ig??
Thor is always drunk, he is a drunken Viking god. 🤣🤦🤦
@@lastatmullen1185 he's not always drunk, the difference is made clear in the game itself

In the god of war comics, kratos actually fought faye for days when they first met, and it ended as a draw, its obvious that faye are ridiculously strong
Still not as strong as Kratos ,Freya and Odin.
@@grandcanyon-fu9ztbro did u not read? Kratos couldn’t beat Faye it was a DRAW And if that could happen and she was shitting on Thor in the fight I’m pretty sure was one of the strongest giant especially with that axe and she could’ve prob take on Odin easily tbh we don’t know how she died but it definitely wasn’t from a battle she must’ve been sick or something bc no one was beating her 😂
@@intensevolcom2036 Kratos literally half dead from fucking Greece, probably tired as shit, and he was still able to match Faye with leviathan axe while Kratos probably had no weapons.
@@doctorblackhole6982 Prime Freya is equal to Odin held back his armies to à stalemate, I'd say Athena , Freya then Faye.
Guess this wife would be harder for Kratos to kill by accident.

Really dude?
They fought on first meeting when kratos arrived on norse so I am not surprised
You didn’t have to do my homeboy he Kratos like that.🤣
But the she died by herself. Poor kratos can't catch a break. He should've married Odin to basically confirm he dies.
If you remember thor said when fighting kratos the first time ,when they clashed their weapons making a thunderus tree he said that it reminds me something or looks familiar or some shit ...it was his battle with Faye
Faye could lift logs as effortlessly as Kratos
Its no surprise that she could go toe-to-toe with Thor, especially as Faye didn't have any kind of horrid, shameful past that would make her hold back like Kratos
And also toe to toe with Kratos. It said at their first met, they almost take each other heads.

so that's why there is two frozen lightning on the game... one was created when Kratos fought thor in midgard, in the colision between Mjölnir and the Leviathan axe and the other when faye did the same...

Wondered why Thor said "this feels familiar" when Kratos froze his lightning bolt with that exact same Axe, now I know
i want A DLC were Kratos and Faye and having adventure 🥰
I love how Atreus was excited and sound so proud hearing her mother almost single handedly ended Thor.
It would be great if one day they did a prequel with Kratos and Faye.
Of all the things we found out it turns out that she was really badass.
Makes sense why thor says in the fight between Himself and Kratos at the beginning "This seems Familiar"
As much as I like GoW 4 and Ragnarok, I do kinda miss the over the top cosmic aesthetic that the Olympians had. They had floating castles hidden in the mountains, enormous cities and temples, and such.
The Norse lands also are really interesting but they got lazy with the designs i guess
@@see_ya_chump4307 More like they tried being more realistic in design. But then again, Ancient Greece was kinda more majestic than any of the Norse lands.
Sta Monica needs to develop a DLC for Faye's journey on how she met Kratos, her fight with Thor and how she discovered the story of Kratos and Atreus.
I love the thumbnail where Sif is replaced by Faye 😂
"Levitation" Axe eh? I wonder if it floats.
I would LOVE to see a DLC or a spin-off about Fayes adventures and how she fought Thor!
if i ever want to imagine the scene of faye fighting thor... imagine malenia wielding the leviathan axe instead. kratos did say in gow 2018 that faye "fought beautifully"...
Lol.... Ok, tell us more
Nah not that unlikely. There was a giantess in the mythos that was stronger than him
Hyrrokin iirc
This makes that line in the first Thor fight makes more sense when he says that this feels familiar during the fight
I mean in mythology there's been mortals who defeated gods on single combat, Diomedes beated the shit out of Ares in Troy...
Faye was a giant. If mere humans can become heros giants can go far more.
To be honest, all you need to beat Thor, is to spray oil on him & put him on fire 🔥,
Unless there is water or a well nearby, he won’t be getting out of that situation alive
She was fighting a drunk man who didn't even remember her after the fight he was even called sloppy and we didn't know who is the winner.
Thats why thor said " this feels familiar" but he didn't finish what he was saying but I knew when they would cast their ax and Hammer he was remembering her
That's why Thor says "This feels familiar" when Levithan and Mjölnir strike resulting in a Freezed lightning.
Kratos could've killed thor in seconds if he wasn't holding back but faye is also really smart and strong
@@Urd-Vidan No, but you are the ones who underestimate Thor. Was she really able to defeat him?? This game underestimated him too much
Seconds ?? Bruh what do ya know about Thor exactly
@@imed-ha77 No she didn't beat him, the title is click bait. She did fight him to a standstill though.
This is why thor said "this feels familiar" when he and Kratos clashed the leviathan and mjolnir in their first fight and the lightning strike was frozen
Levitation axe? More like Leviathan axe
Was that supposed to be a joke?
I just realized that when Kratos was fighting Thor Thor said the fight was reminded him of something most likely the fight with Faye
I would LOVE a cutscene, if not a full DLC, of Faye vs Thor.
that’s why Thor said “this seems familiar” at the starting fight
Title was wrong. She did not defeat him. Was a draw
"A Fair-haired Warrior".... And "furious woman" could also be reference to Lady Sif, who was also the only Woman who could Match Thor... Both in Drinking & Fighting.
Now feminism is making Kratos' wife, who wasn't even a goddess, stronger than him. Great way of destroying your own lore.
OR
Kratos, Slayer of Gods, HOLDING BACK, wielding the same weapon but IMBUED WITH EITR WHICH IS THE VENOM THAT KILLS THOR IN THE MYTH, vs a Bloodlusted and SOBER Thor who believes Kratos is going to Kill his Daughter.
0:53 Magnus? Is that a reference to Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard?
Thor is so underwhelming in this game its a shame 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Yeah. Thor dies like a bitch. Only good thing about him is the entrance
No he isn't , literally the only characters who could even hold themselves in front of him are Kratos , odin , fey and heimdal maybe
But even he and fey would've eventually lost to him , fey survived cuz he was drunk and heimdall isn't foolish enough to just pick a fight with Thor, we saw that in the game
No wonder Thor said in the beginning when he fought Kratos: "This feels familiar."
I hate made up contrivances.
this video is a clickbait and many are being dumb, she fought him and that's it. Nobody knows the result of the fight or how it what was involved.
Lol no... well, you're confused and forgetful.
I now realize why Odin sent Baldur instead of Thor.
Yeah, she beat Thor because of wokeness.
Yeah god forbid if a female has powers huh
Complete joke. Can’t have any media without ‘the message’
No, she beat Thor because she was a Giant, also Thor lost an arm wrestling match against an old woman who was the personification of old age.
i like how kratos was just confused and baffled that he never knew but Atreus was just "yeah, you go mom!"
Wahmen powaa! So stunning, so brave!

Thor lost an arm wrestling match against an old woman in mythology.

@@azazel166 No, just humor.
@@JimV90 I see, so it is humor when you like it, and feminist BS when you don't.

They definitely should’ve gave us a peak at what that battle looked like.
sometimes we never really know the ones we love brother (lol)
So that’s what Thor meant by “this looks familiar” in the first boss fight
Imagine in the next game we get to fight Faye when Kratos met her for the first time
When I was done with the first secondary mission here and found out it could tell a story about faye vs Thor I focused on clearing all of them here in case there was a flashback of the battle, sad that there wasn’t but it was so good to here about how the battle was.

That Levitation Axe sure seems to just float around!
If Faye was anything like Freya is now, it’s not hard to see how she could have dealt with Thor.
Is that why in Thor's first duel with Kratos, he said "this seems familiar" and when Kratos asked "what?" he said "nevermind"
He remembers his fight with Faye
This is why Thor said "This feels familiar" when Leviathan and Mjölnir bump into each other in the first fight with Kratos
Kratos fought faye in their first time meeting too.
She's strong until the ⭕ botton appears at the top of her head.
Ah so that's why Thor said "this seems familiar " when he and Kratos clashes their weapons

That explains the frozen lightning bolt in the crater in Vanaheim.
