Kind of insane that Faye was able to take on Thor despite not being a god herself, she likely used strategy and technique to wear him down instead of using brute strength.

Considering the Leviathan axe was made specifically as a counter-weapon to Thor's hammer, not to mention Faye being highly skilled to even match Kratos in their first meeting, that proposed encounter, and outcome of Thor greatly underestimating Faye doesn't surprise me. We need a Faye prequel story....ASAP.

Laufey is revered among the Jotnars as their greatest warrior. She even led rebellions and when she knew they would fail, set out a path of her own. Much to the Jotnar's dismay. In one of the prophetic shrines in Ironwood and Jotunheim, Faye was shown arguing with the giants. Quite literally, Faye went angainst fate. My guess is, she knew her future meeting and eventual marriage with Kratos meant a catalyst for change. Kratos was famous for being a catalyst to everything but his own. This time though, with the help of Faye, he became a catalyst not only of his own fate but of all as well. A fitting end that Faye's hidden shrine of Loki depicted Kratos in the final panel as a god worthy of worship. Not of fear, but of love and respect.

Actually she fought Thor when he was drunk. Thor use to go around slaughtering giants while not being serious and drunk so when he encountered Faye it was even because he was drunk. It's stated in other dialogues in the game that Thor fought her when he was drunk because he didn't expect her to be much of a challenge. Kratos actually fought a bloodlusted Thor who was sober and kratos was the one holding back since he didn't want to kill Thor in the second fight. Not to mention this game basically confirms that young kratos was stronger according to dialogue so the kids who believed whatever Cory said on Twitter years ago were wrong lol. When kratos talks about the sisters of fate, Zeus etc in the game Freya and Mimir say that they wielded magic more powerful than any magic she has seen in the realms basically confirming the Greeks were op as hell. kratos even confirms during the norn mission that the gods he faced in the past were stronger than Heimdall and baldur and the beings he fought UpTo that point in the Norse realm. Just bringing this up because people kept saying the Greek gods were weaker than the Norse gods are on crack I swear. Mimir himself said that the stories of kratos fights in Greece are more legendary than the stories of Thor's fights and Mimir says that the stories of kratos fights are so epic that most of it sound exaggerated and kratos confirms that they are all true. If kratos was still young, had all his old weapons that were just as strong as the chaos blades and some even stronger and all the magic abilities he once had, he'd have smoke Thor in seconds. Current kratos only has super strength, he lost his ability to use magic after Zeus used the power of fear to strip him of his old weapons and magic. Faye herself admitted she couldn't win against the gods and it was stated by Mimir that Faye's rebellion against the gods was defeated which is why she went into hiding in the woods and gave the axe to kratos who was suppose to be the champion chosen by the giants according to the mural. they thought all along it would be Loki but it was kratos who saves the giants which is why the final mural showed kratos being loved by all creatures in the realms. Lokis role is basically to save the giants from those orb things but kratos role was to lead and defeat the aesir.

Thor wanted the real God of war and got a glimpse, and got the axe scar for it. Faye matching kratos, being capable of defeating thor and having been the mate of kratos shows just how much of a badass she was. It's likely she was the giants queen or God, and her people trusting her brought her to Kratos and thus made Loki, the destined chosen God to return them and free them from the clutches of Odin

Lol no... well, you're confused and forgetful. During the GoW 2018 and Ragnarök, Kratos DID NOT have god magic, let alone any real magic like he did in the past. Just little pieces of runes and charms blah blah blah. It's a Sony game, so they made it look cool and pleasing to the eye, but that stuff was not actually supposed to be on the level of the Greek stuff. It wasn't enough to kill Baldr (do you not remember Loki having to CALL the world serpent)?? Do you NOT remember the struggle Kratos had with Baldr twice due to no magic? Do you not remember all the help Kratos needed from Freya (to heal his son who almost died, to 'reanimate' Mimir's head, to get the light crossways going, etc.), Mimir (needing his second eye, being needed to speak to the World Serpent before Loki could as a Giant.. that happens when his eyes glow...), and others because he DID NOT have GOD MAGIC... Kratos also cannot read a lot of things that his son can through his son's unbeknownst Giant Magic, but he could not without his God Magic...
And so now, during the first fight in Ragnarök, Thor had GOD MAGIC and Kratos DID NOT (he also just slumbered for who knows how long), and Thor said he was COLLECTING a BLOOD PAYMENT (which DID NOT imply death, only pain/loosh). The Lady (the mermaid) that Brok and Kratos meet with much later in that game... that godly magical item they take to her to MAKE a full sword with the GOD'S BLOOD (creating.. GOD MAGIC)... yeah that, THAT'S when Kratos FINALLY actually gets some real magic. And that's how Heimdall goes. And that thing with Surtr? Ah, there we go, some more magic... And THAT'S how Kratos can ACTUALLY defeat Thor and Odin... Without it... nope, would've made Baldr look like nothing and game over...
There's LOTS of soy and w*ke BS in Ragnarök. But that writing hole you think exists? Doesn't. No, there actually is sense, not "contrivances".

Aetrius is the son of two incredible warriors. I wonder what he'll grow up to be.

I get why Thor said "This seems familiar" on the first boss fight with him when you clash the axe and the hammer. I see

If Faye was anything like Freya is now, it’s not hard to see how she could have dealt with Thor.

Is that why in Thor's first duel with Kratos, he said "this seems familiar" and when Kratos asked "what?" he said "nevermind"
He remembers his fight with Faye

This is why Thor said "This feels familiar" when Leviathan and Mjölnir bump into each other in the first fight with Kratos

Kratos fought faye in their first time meeting too.

If only Thor knew Kratos is the husband of the woman who humbled him, there would be much, MUCH more destruction and thrill-hungry Thor.

I still need to play the first one, but I knew she was a G just by how she walked and talked. Kratos is putting the puzzle together in his head explaining how she worked the..."Spartan Spear"!💯😭🤣🐐

Yo, now I get why Thor says "This seems familiar" when Axe/Mjolnir clash at the start of the game and they create a lighting bolt or some kind.

That explains the frozen lightning bolt in the crater in Vanaheim.
