I’m 62 and, although I haven’t had nearly the interesting experiences as “the world’s most interesting man”, I think I’ve done ok. I was a tank crewman in the Army, I participated in an archeological dig in Belize, I’ve acted on stage, I’ve done a LOT of travelling to some quite unusual places, I’ve had several diverse careers, many varied hobbies and interests including most recently men’s style and clothing….
@hoozat007 I agree with you. We, the "lesser" known gentlemen, have done some amazing things in our life. I want to complement wat you say. I served in the South African Air Force for ten years. Started as a Mirgae III avionics technician. Obtained my bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, thus becoming a technical officer, leaving with the rank of captain. This at the ripe age of 28. Thereafter, as an engineer, I worked on a rocket and satellite project for ARMSCOR. Then pursued a career in software projects. Currently unemployed because of my skin colour. Did motorcycle racing, adventure motorcycle off road riding, SCUBA diving. For three years did combat shooting. Weapon of choice was my .357 Mag. Insides of a car ir motorcycle's engine does not scare me. Throw in a bit of software coding.... languages; COBOL, FORTRAN, Turbo PASCAL . Leave mein the kitchen and I'll cook the pants off Jamie Oliver. Love history. Travelled Eu extensively, visiting many a place of interest. Love reading .... Shakespeare, Charles D, Rudyard K, Arthur Cllarke, etc. Know my wines.....know my music After two failed marriages. The first did not make 2 years, the other crashed after 23 years, I believe bro's before who's. Now at 63, I can hold my own.
At age 61 I’ve spent 20 years in the army through several wars, I’m currently on my “bucket list” traveling on the road to every state since November 2020, living in hotels, state and national parks and army and navy bases. I’ve taken up rock and fossil digging, marksmanship shooting, rock climbing and learning a new language every year. Next year I will travel to other countries I lived in as a young soldier and even some I’ve never visited before. Your channel is awesome and I just subscribed to see more! Remember gents, you don’t have to live forever, just live well! 👍
I’m enjoying your videos very much. You are an intelligent and very well spoken young Gentleman. I’m an older Gentleman who has been blessed with a very fascinating life, but I feel myself young because I learn something new everyday from young people like you. Never stop learning or moving, they are the golden key to a fulfilling and happy life. I’m very grateful, THANK you Sir.
"I don't always drink beer. But when I do,I prefer a Dos Equis" The boldness to basically disdain the product you are trying to sell, but redeem your specific brand as superior. Genius.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, “Wow what a ride!” ― Hunter S. Thompson,
Another good video. I agree that traveling gives you something to talk about, I generally love hearing stories from people who have traveled and carry a bit of the world in their head. I'd love to visit Paris, Italy, and your previous home city, London, someday. Well, it's always a pleasure.
Awesome video!! I loved your advice about drawing inspiration from men of adventure in the past. Ernest Hemingway is inspiring to me as well - hence why I did the Running of the Bulls in Pampolona! Lol
It's really a very good video, long before the particular advice of a financial or business expert, the discipline of a sportsman or the artistic thirst of a musician, it's this mindset of love for adventure that is the most precious to me among all that can be advised to men to work in their lives. Life has never been more fun than when I decided to chase new experiences with the only purpose of experiencing it. Even at my young age, This will be what I want to strive for in my life, not even to become interesting or a gentleman, but because that's the only way life deserves to be lived, I'm at least convinced of it.
LOL. America and all that... I expect you will enjoy your time at the range if you have a good teacher. Then try Trap & Skeet. Not solely American but lots of fun. Great content. Keep up the great work.
I’m probably forty years older than you but I like your style. I probably had too much fun and didn’t make enough money until I was fifty but it’s been a great ride. Advice? Learn to sail and crew on a race boat, ski, drive like you stole it, travel, and remember: women outnumber men 😊
When it comes to interesting men, allow me to mention the Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl. He wrote several books about his expeditions, the most well-known is of course Kon Tiki. He remained curious and eager to widen his horizons through all his life.
I’m a middle aged American man who doesn’t own a suit. I have, however found great value in your channel. There may be a time soon where I will have to be more presentable in a professional manner. That’s how I ended up on your channel.
Have you read "Stay Interesting" by Jonathan Goldsmith? His life before landing the role of "The Most Interesting Man in the World" is very interesting in itself. About a week ago this video is the first of yours I watched. Biggest reason is I am a fan of the Dos Equis commercials you speak of here. I would say these commercials, although part of an ad campaign, give food-for-thought for those who want to enjoy life to the fullest. Good thing is anyone can start where they are. Your videos are topnotch.
I loved that in an age where all beer ad were just attractive men surrounded by babes, they gave him a REASON to be so alluring, he was telling his stories, and the beer did not make him cool…haha, it was just a preference. 🍻 Cheers.
This is an outstanding video for many reasons, but the emphasis on the notion that there’s more to life than working and hitting the gym is important. It’s a world that people that can get lost in and regret it if they don’t balance it out with the rest of life and what it has to offer
As Thoreau said, “Most men live lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.” If Covid has taught us one thing its that none of us knows when this fantastic experience will end, which is why we need to make the most of every single day and take time to enjoy life not sit around feeling sorry for ourselves or lamenting over what might have been.
I've never been the most handsome, best body or most money guy around, but the most interesting guy girls meet. They tell me all the time. Not that I ever did things my way in order to get girls (below average success, but I never cared). My advice to younger guys is to delete social media, read many books (preferably published before 1970), get some artistic skill, learn a language (or some), travel to not instagram hyped places, do not care too much about money (but don't neglect it either), run away from mainstream culture in general and never care for external validation. You've gotta get some histories to tell before you're 30. Later is posible, but not easy.
Do not look to live like your role model. Don’t follow the most interesting man. Just be yourself and go into the life without fear and expectations. The adventure will come by itself.
I’m shocked anyone would think Tim Ferris is interesting. He’s a dork. Check out the classic playboys for truly interesting men - Rubirosa, Sachs, Guinle.
thanks! i checked a couple of your videos and these give me a different perspective in motivation. i liked the motive and the concept behind your videos, keep going!
Nonono man but you need to incorporate that in your videos as well, not only this super classy jazz music gentleman shit, you gotta show other sides as well of you in your channel to be an interesting man/creator
James: this ad campaign is BS. The guy looks old, is overwight, and is not particularly cultured. You wanted to be a copywriter. There is something cringy about the guy, and the whole campaign is a MISS -- like the Gilette masculinity is toxic campaign. BTW, love your videos and lived in Chicago 15 years. (I live in Rio now).
Bruh I get it you’re jealous of Goldsmith’s success and you’re a raging male feminist. But you don’t have to embarrass yourself by going on a rant like this.
I highly disagree about the travel girl thing. Travel girls are completely cancerous emotionally, mentally and financially and should be avoided at all costs. Girls with heavy duty travel hobbies are absolutely number one on my list of red flags
Yep. He looks good in the professionally lit portrait shot. The rest, he just looks old. Very old. And the women don't care about his arqueological stuff. If there is no bank the women leave for a younger millionaire
I mean it really makes no difference to me if the hypothetical woman hasn’t left the state in 3 or even 5 years. Stuff like that isn’t really what I find most attractive in women, spontaneity and interesting stories are fine don’t get me wrong but it’s not what I feel would make me feel a woman is worth starting a relationship with. For me there are other things.

Sounds very interesting to me! Good for you. A life well lived.
most women don't give shit about any of that but to me, you are a success

Wonderful
The most interesting man is the one with purpose in life and keep learning.
Indeed
That was part of the message that the commercial wanted you to catch, besides drinking Dos Equis.
"The function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not spend my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."

this channel deserves to take off. im happy to see the subscriber count growing
Thank you, on the cusp of 80k right now!

At 60, I took up, Public Speaking. And boy, did it do wonders for my confidence.
Good for you. It's never too late to learn new skills
I'd love hear more about that.
"I don't always drink beer. But when I do,I prefer a Dos Equis"
The boldness to basically disdain the product you are trying to sell, but redeem your specific brand as superior.
Genius.
These ads were genius on many levels
It is some of the best copywriting in the history of advertising.

Currently in Latin America.
Was going to hit a few clubs.
Instead, will assemble a colorful eclectic group, and go exploring ravines by torchlight.
Awesome video!! I loved your advice about drawing inspiration from men of adventure in the past. Ernest Hemingway is inspiring to me as well - hence why I did the Running of the Bulls in Pampolona! Lol
Good advice for women, too. Be interesting and interested, do exciting things, etc.
No not at all. Be feminine. Women who do that stuff are red flags.
These videos are timeless
I loved those Dos Equis ads lol “both sides of his pillows are cool, sasquatch has a photo of him, he has inside jokes with complete strangers”
lol! Luv it!
"If he disagrees with you, it's because you are wrong."

Just as I'm having writer's block, you come along with the perfect video.
Great work mate!
75k…(already almost 80k). I started following at under 500. Love seeing this blow up in a positive way.
Thank you for being there since the early days
LOL. America and all that... I expect you will enjoy your time at the range if you have a good teacher. Then try Trap & Skeet. Not solely American but lots of fun. Great content. Keep up the great work.
One of your best!!!!!!!!!!

This is really refreshing advice. Especially as a 20 something focused on growing.
Glad to hear it

I have, it’s become easily one of my favourite biographies ever and honestly one of my favourite non-fiction books full stop.
I loved that in an age where all beer ad were just attractive men surrounded by babes, they gave him a REASON to be so alluring, he was telling his stories, and the beer did not make him cool…haha, it was just a preference. 🍻 Cheers.
Absolutely. They got the audience to buy into the character, and associate the drink with him, rather than doing it the other way round.
Great video 👍
The most interesting man in the world once had an awkward moment. Just to see what it would be like.
👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
Thank you Sam!
Such a great video. Thank you!

“People hang on his every word- even the prepositions… He can speak French in Russian.”
Better prepositions than pronouns, at least these days.
Could you please make a video on how to maintain/take care of your clothes!
BTW, DOS XX is a good beer.
The most interesting man is the man who is MOST INTERESTED!!!

An enigma wrapped up in a riddle.😂
Please make a video about Mr. Tom Ford, his mannerism and how he talks like a gentleman
Stoked!!!!!!!!
Bruh be hitting that algo with a vid every day
"Stay thirsty my friends"
Real life example: Churchill !
Gold.
Bud Light thought it would have the same success with Dylan Mulvaney and the least interesting woman in the world. 🤣
I go for a rugby game now - simply for gentleman sports
Wow, no pressure! 😂
I used his sign-off this way: Invest Wisely, My Friends! LOL
Well now you have to make a video showing us you at the shooting range! :)
I aspired to be the most interesting man in my world
you gotta do a video on Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne
"His mom has a tattoo that says 'Son' "😂
Wow you are talking about my ideal life, men usually don’t appreciate this lifestyle in a woman though
I’ve had an immensely interesting life but still manage to be personally boring. Must be a gift 😆
Being able to talk about your experiences in an interesting way is a skill and art.
Please make some content abou extenous life of T.R
Interesting!
Very Good
When I say that I went to the Japanese Alps for the weekend most men immediately change the topic or look at me as though I am an alien
Be me!🤣
Caveat emptor!
Do one on Tony the Tiger
Do not look to live like your role model.
Don’t follow the most interesting man.
Just be yourself and go into the life without fear and expectations.
The adventure will come by itself.
I need to become a vampire!!! I have led a very full and rich life but there is not enough time in a single lifetime to do all I want to do.😁
So, just be Ernest Hemingway! Read his books!
Which of his books would you recommend?
Start with A Farewell To Arms then try The Sun Also Rises.
A man like that is not raising children.
My fictional mentor is Jack Aubrey. WWJD?
Hats for bald men?

Jorge Newbery
Mate your wrong you must have grinding years and then gather fun and life experiences later.
This is very Nietzschean
The most interesting man doesnt care what women think about them.
The old geezer Advertising alcohol is bad tho
What do you mean “bad”
I'd rather be the most virtuous man in the world than the most interesting man in the world.
Keep wearing your mask as you drive alone in your car, Mr Virtuous.
i'm a girl
You could follow the same life philosophy and be the most interesting woman in the world!
thanks! i checked a couple of your videos and these give me a different perspective in motivation. i liked the motive and the concept behind your videos, keep going!

I highly disagree about the travel girl thing. Travel girls are completely cancerous emotionally, mentally and financially and should be avoided at all costs. Girls with heavy duty travel hobbies are absolutely number one on my list of red flags
