Okay am I the only one who finds the death at 2:52 hilarious? The dude pulled out a little knife and the predator was like "nah bro, keep the change" 😂😂
The fact that these trappers slaughtered all those Bison and let their bodies to waste in the earlier scene (which is what nearly drove the species to extinction) made this Predator beatdown all the more satisfying.
I always love how much personality the Predators have. All kudos to the actor, it cannot be easy to get across emotions with heavy prosthetics and an inhuman face.
2:06 What I find fascinating is that the humans were competent, they were just outgunned and outmatched. The French used traps and superior numbers to help them, but it only worked for so long. Meanwhile the Comanche had the better fighting skills and raw ferocity, but even that didn't help them.
make sense given this is taking place back in time when humans need to be competent everyday to really just survive Life. It also gives a foundation in Predator Lore in why Predators see humans are a worthy prey to hunt, apart from soldiers, police etc, average humans in modern days aren't exactly what I would considered worthy prey for the Yautja race. Going back in time really provides the answer
I think the French were very arrogant that they could take on a creature they didn’t know it’s pure strength. Thats why they were so incompetent. (Then again, French are arrogant regardless so it’s a given). That’s sort of the theme with most bad guys, especially with this franchise. The villain is always arrogant and thus their arrogance and pride is their downfall in the end. And if you want to test me and say “well arrogance is not an excuse” I want you to name me 5 villains out of a billion who lost other than their arrogance and pride? Even if you can, it’s a pretty low number.
@@ulfberht4431 that’s pretty much the thesis statement of Prey. The muskets do fuck all. The flintlock fails to fire. The Predator’s mask is used to fatally bamboozle it. All in all, the message is “know thy enemy”, or perhaps “know thy prey”. On whose part? Are the trappers defending themselves from a threat that already attacked them once, or is the Predator defending itself from the trappers ambush? I guess the answer could be both here.
This Predator seems, like a high school bully, who took one semester of boxing classes and now beats up everybody, who is smaller than him and laughs at them... Asshole in other words Ones from 1st and 2nd movie seemed like a professional fighters, who appreciate effort opponent makes, even if they dominate whole fight What tells me this is mere fact that this one just throws stuff at enemies and uses gadgets, when he sees somebody draw a knife- which first two i mentioned earlier would cream their pants for, as they wanted ones, who fight them, no matter the odds
Yeah this predator has most of the traits of a Bad Blood. He interrupted the hunts of other animals, he used cloaking in a 1v1 with the brother and additionally stabbed him from behind while cloaked(twice the dishonor), he killed Raphael when he couldn’t defend or protect himself, he used ranged weapons in his final 1v1 with Naru and dishonor aside, he also made some stupid decisions when it came to his technology and Naru.
@@sanguinarius4458 I dunno anything about Bad Bloods, but from my perspective, when you compare how Predator treated Billy in 1st movie, or Lambert in 2nd- while over here- where he has whole bunch of men willing to take him on in hand to hand combat he just swings shit around, instead of taking them on- for me it just seems disrespectful to his courageous prey

That’s when the predator had killed a bunch of the trappers. That’s why they asked her later what see knew about the predator because they had already encountered him. So the trappers tried luring the predator with her and her brother.
They burned the trees to negate his cloak right? I think that’s what you’re saying anyway. He even looked mildly impressed lol. This feels like the kind of thing that might be in a deleted scene one day, even if it was right to delete it from the film. Hopefully we’ll see them one day.
I think it was more to do with the fact that the ash, while it didn’t clog up its cloaking device, it more or less made it obvious with its surroundings. So I guess if figured, why use this device if I can be easily seen?
In my opinion the best part of this scene is either the predator decapitating the guy with his shield or the predator just standing as the other guy shoots him him and the bullet bounces off and kills him

Assuming this movie still follows the lore that the Predators have been coming to Earth since ancient times, it's more likely they heard stories, or maybe even encountered one themselves. Given the time period, wars were very frequent in Europe, and Yautja love wars.
@@darthkarnage7538 that's what I was assuming. Predators go anywhere they can get a good fight and Europe would have had the most advanced weaponry at the time.

As a civilization, 100% they are smarter, but lore wise, the skill and experience of the Hunter determines whether they are a better fighter and strategist then a human. The one in this movie is supposed to be not very good, so he gets outsmarted at the end of the movie.

@@skyfryer1223 I didn't know Elder made sure their youngsters are "well beyond competent". I thought they give a basic course of the weapons and rules, but nothing else. Nothing about tactics, and nothing about their enemies -- this is so that the youngsters would FIGURE OUT whatever is needed on their own, through their own painful experience.
@@michaelsong5555 They mentor them until they know they're proficient in their technique and with their weapons and tools. Feral didn't even know how his projectiles worked which was abit funny lol. But absolutely like you said, they don't help with strategies or hints. But they absolutely would shame any Yaujtas who don't know how their weapons work. They train for half a century or so before their first hunt.
And this Predator used more basic weapons compared to others.
Funny thing is, this was technically self-defense😅
On whose part? Are the trappers defending themselves from a threat that already attacked them once, or is the Predator defending itself from the trappers ambush? I guess the answer could be both here.
honestly these french have some b**** of steel. I couldnt really sense any fear in them when facing an entity from another world.

That one person who says something controversial but roasts everyone in the replies:
This Predator seems, like a high school bully, who took one semester of boxing classes and now beats up everybody, who is smaller than him and laughs at them... Asshole in other words
Ones from 1st and 2nd movie seemed like a professional fighters, who appreciate effort opponent makes, even if they dominate whole fight
What tells me this is mere fact that this one just throws stuff at enemies and uses gadgets, when he sees somebody draw a knife- which first two i mentioned earlier would cream their pants for, as they wanted ones, who fight them, no matter the odds
Does the bad blooded Predator prey upon ensnared vicitim? Why did it letft naru when it was so close to killing her before naru's capture??
@@sanguinarius4458 I dunno anything about Bad Bloods, but from my perspective, when you compare how Predator treated Billy in 1st movie, or Lambert in 2nd- while over here- where he has whole bunch of men willing to take him on in hand to hand combat he just swings shit around, instead of taking them on- for me it just seems disrespectful to his courageous prey
That's what makes this franchise amazing, every predator is differente. For me, the Feral predator is most like a fucking psychopath haha
This predator is not very good. I think they said he’s supposed to be a new hunter, so he isn’t very professional or experienced.
I mean to be fair they did actually capture him. They just couldn’t Hold him.

The sequel to Aliens vs Predator: PREDATOR VS THE FRENCH.
Gotta love that Kratos shield.

I could not figure out why the trees were all destroyed. But when she was in the tree fighting the mountain lion, there was a flash that caught her attention before she fell.
If they actually immediately shot it when they trapped it they probably could’ve killed it
Considering it takes a bullet to the back of the head later in the movie, I kind of doubt that.
Predator's are pretty durable. That would've injured it but I highly doubted it would've died.
Unlikely even dutches guys didn't make a scratch on it with 5.56 and 50 bfg rounds 😂

2:46 What did he say?
Im telling you hes has the weapon like the one from the assassin's creed
Don’t forget about alien equipment
I really loved this film how predator should look
Did all that ash flying around him mess with his clogging device?
I think so.. I didn't think about that when I first saw this.

And that predator used more Primitive Technology?
Right?
@@jessedorame9064
I wouldn’t call it primitive, just not energy based weapons
But if you watch the movie again you might notice how the predator steps up his weapons the the particular targets
Animal targets are approached with blades and claws
Comanche’s have projectiles and spears
The pred then equips the bolt gun & his glaive/staff/mace
Fur trappers have GUNS so pred brings out the shield and those little bombs
He is technically putting himself on a even field … but he definitely as many would say he has THE HIGH GROUND 😂
The artists who designed the predator like a game hunter. When go hunting deer, you use a rifle, not a grenade launcher. They hunt with gear in accordance to what technology the prey have. Not much fun if its too easy.
I think the predators like to be a bit fair, it makes their hunts more dangerous, fun, and honourable.
Since he's not fighting moder nday humans he's likely brought lower-grade gear.

I would like some backstory to the french hunters because the prepared the stage to counter the cloaking device of the predator and had him pinned down in the start. Did the french encounter another one in Europe or was it a coincidence
Hunter blinds have been a common strategy in hunting since guns have existed.
I think it was more that they couldn't see the predator the first time they were attacked, and decided to clear all possible cover to get some clear shots off. The fact that the ash disabled the cloak was probably just a coincidence in their favour.
@@darthkarnage7538 if this movie is cannon with comics then one of.them did see a predator before the translator.that talked to the girl was in the comics.and did fight a predator
Are Predator's/Yautja's smarter then Humans Beings?
As a civilization, 100% they are smarter, but lore wise, the skill and experience of the Hunter determines whether they are a better fighter and strategist then a human. The one in this movie is supposed to be not very good, so he gets outsmarted at the end of the movie.
@@chases.937 Yautja's think, plan & strategize differently from us Humans.
The one in this movie is a young blood so he is still not as experienced the other Yautjas you see in other movies hunting the xenomorphs
Technologically, they’re more advanced, but their culture and core values are so different to ours that it’s hard to make a direct comparison. I suppose I’d say they’re around the same level of intelligence as humans, if humans went down a drastically different path.
