Ah sky striker. I once came soooooo close to winning against one with my Trickstar deck. At the end of my turn, I had a Holly Angel, with a Black Catbat and Divaridis linked to it. I had him down to 1000 LP after my battle phase. His turn rolls around, flips over 3 widow anchor and kills me with my own monsters. We went from this to OMG Yes I love Raye! I would die for Sky Striker Ace Raye! This support card is going to change my life and it's going to be the best card ever!
As new a Sky Striker player, all my life before Sky Striker I always used rogue OTK decks and Sky Striker was my first control deck…and I NEVER want to go back to OTK decks after this. Toolbox decks are so awesome because you have a counter measure for almost every situation when OTK is pretty much you perform a set of combo’s to win the game if that process gets hindered it’s basically an L. Like there are tons of scenarios I’ve been in where one of my combo options was blocked, each one being entirely different, and there was literally an answer for every single situation(although I did mess up a few and only after careful studying realised what I can do better). With Sky Striker you can brick your entire hand and still end up winning the game and imo that’s what a good deck is. However I will say there is a very high skill gap and I’m currently still learning how to master the deck and am only using it to maybe 60-70% of its potential rn. In the hands of a top duellist this deck is OP in the hands of a novice this deck is really good.
Gravekeepers plays better as it has control on special summons, negate traps, draw chosen card from deck, unaffected by opponents card effects , search for necrovalley, special summon grave monsters, destroy one of ur own monsters to destroy any card on field , throw in some aah blossom and solemn and feather duster and ur set
There's a high skill ceiling is what you mean. Sky Striker had such a low skill floor is what made it so annoying. Everyone just played the same deck so whoever drew the Kaiju first won.
When I find this kind of player I just say stuff like "no one wants to watch you make 3 saryujas, no one" and then leave, Im not gonna sit and watch someone go off for 20min if Im not in an event.
Back when Rhongo and Firewall were still legal you have six sam players on YGOPRO taking 45 minutes to make a full extra link board along with a 7 mat Rhongo by continuously abusing gateway.
Skystriker can go second they have alot of removal spells to break boards, but the problem is you have to search all of them. Skystrikers have a hard matchup against Thunderdragons if TD goes first and they have Colluses on field it basically shuts off half the cards in your deck Engage, Airspace, that other one I cant remember. You need to have Anchor in hand and with the Gumblar effects it makes it even harder. So you gotta go first against Thunder Dragons.

I have been running a very casual duel club for teens for about 3 years. I have never hated a deck more than thunder dragons. I haven't banned the deck, but all turns must now be under 6 minutes.
Having watched the video I wanna say the following: At first I wasnt quite sure what this vid would really be, since everyone and their Skull Servant knows how to play Sky Striker (Or should I say "Hope you like Engage-Anchor loop") Surprised to say this video completely blew my expectations out of the water as I was met with possibly your funniest and most uniquely edited video in a very long time (If not ever, I honestly believe this is your best editing business and your effort truly shows) Despite how mundane the deck really is after playing it for more than 10 matches, you truly made this a joy to watch with your humour. Now, I do have a complain on the fact it was a singular match against the TD player, when you obviously had replays of other hands (namely the 3 shit hands you viewed). Also nice Bandit Keith skills, Pankratops tech out of nowhere since it wasnt in the build you showed. Also I dont mind the noodle soup meme since this is where it originated, but this is like the 5th time you used this version of the Enemy Controller song. Would be nice to atleast hear a different rendition. However you get a 👏👏(Meme Review) from me. A+ for effort, A+ for comedy. Astonishing work and I cant wait what more you have stored for the future :)
