Excellent video, perfectly paced and highly detailed. This is the go-to for 1st time builders! My daughter and I will be referring to this series for her first build! Thank you for all the time you’ve put into these.
Keep up the awesome work man, just finished sealing and sanding the dome for the helmet, altering templates for Revan atm, you def saved me from needing to buy or make my own duct tape head pattern. You make it insanely simple to follow and free which is beyond admirable. Def earned the likes and subscribes, thanks for all the amazing video work and insane attention to detail and walking us through step by step instead of most forcing us to trial and error with a lot of techniques
Hey, I suddenly had the urge to make a Boba Fett costume cause I wanna try doing something new. I really appreciate this vid cause I really didn't know where to start hahaha.
Hi Robert just started my journey in building this armor. Thank you so much for all these great videos! i will keep you updated on my progress. Thanks again from New Zealand
Hey Robert. Thanks for the great tutorials. My Daughter is interested in cosplay and I've always wanted a Boba Bucket since I first saw Empire in the cinemas way back. So we are thinking of following your tutorials. Sabine for and a Boba for me.
Hi! I really want to make Something Like this, but just for the fun and not thinking of movie accuracy... Thats why my money is Limited and I dont have any money for that flight suit. Do you have any idea what to use instead? I thought of just using a gray fabric trousers and a Pullover in wich I sew the like short sleeves and above all that I get a second gray T-Shirt with modified sleeves on wich I glue the armour peaces. The belt etc would cover the Transition between trousers and Pullover. Is that a good idea? For beginner Cosplay I mean
Just subscribed. Great tutorials. Looking at starting a build from scratch. Last one was a kit for my Scout Trooper. Great demo/instructions. Appreciate it!
Sintra also known as XPVC is another great option. You can get enough for 4 or 5 kits for around 45 bucks or enough for 1.5 kits for 15 dollars or so on amazon.
Judith Lough Later in the series I pick up on Sinatra and do about half of the armor in Sinatra and half with EVA foam. You should be able to follow along with this video and do the same procedures with your Sinatra. Just remember to work in a well ventilated area.
I have found with a glue pot that the glue will 'dry' out faster than in the can. and you can always thin it with barge thinner. also, side note; it is possible to undo a Barge glue joint with a heat gun, but not exactly fun or easy.
I have also found that to be true. To be honest, I rarely use the glue pot anymore because it’s brush is so much larger and I usually need a more detailed application. I’ll keep the heat gun trick in mind the next time I have to move some thing. Will it work on some thing that has been cured for a day or two?
Hi Robert, we want to start building this armor in preparation for Comicpalooza 2021 in Houston! It will be for my son. We have a couple questions. 1.- How did you build the flight suit? I saw the notes and links to some videos talking about the flight suit, but I think they do not describe 100% how to make the flight suit and where exactly to position the snaps. 2.- In the very first video of the playlist, you show how to make the body form for your son (who seems to be a similar size of my son), but then in the next videos (Part 1a) you use a flight suit and templates that are your size, not your son's. I downloaded the templates, but where can I find templates on the size for a 10 yr old? Let's say for the same size as your son.
Unfortunately I’m not great at sewing clothes, so I bought my flight suit and vest on Etsy. Information and patterns on how to sew the flight suit and flak vest and all the other cloth parts have become very scarce online. I have seen some surprisingly good costumes that just used cargo pants and a couple of heavy duty shirts, cutting the arms off of one of them to become the vest. I’m sorry I can’t be any more help than that. I used my son to make the body form because I already had mine and I wanted to show people how they could make their own. As for the pattern of the armor, you’ll need to print them out at a reduced size, probably around 60% but that’s just a guess. I go into the sizing process in the first or second video. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful but I hope this at least helps a little bit and Good luck with your project.
Sorry for not responding earlier. I’m not getting a lot of my message alerts. I don’t know why so much of the Mandalorian cosplay community has suddenly become so stingy with info lately. You used to be able to find all kinds of info and directions for just about everything regarding Mandalorian armor but not it’s all disappearing.
I was just about to send you some vague instructions on building up polystyrene foam insulation so you can carve it into an egg shape to make a pattern, when this popped up as a video suggestion: th-cam.com/video/hq0AEcqhzQM/w-d-xo.html It’s not perfect but it’s a good start.
I found this. You could use this to make the pod or you could use it to make a pattern and make it from EVA Foam. Giant Plastic Egg www.amazon.com/dp/B00BQMESCW/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_i_TIoKFbEJ6YCGX I hope this helps.
On the knee pad when you try to sand those tight curves in the reeses you could use the half moon file to take the material away if you don't have a half moon file you can make one with sandpaper glued to something with a shallow curve, I've even made one by gluing the sand paper to an empty medicine bottle that was cut in half. But nearly anything with a similar curve and solid base will work that you can glue the sandpaper to.
Absolutely! It’s now a lot easier to find plane EVA foam than it used to be. You used to have to order it special, but now almost every craft and hobby store has a foam cosplay section.
for quality smooth foams look up tnt cosplay in the us polyprops in the uk and cosplayshop in Europe, they also sell contact cement and a host of other great costume supplies.
Ciaran Santamaria I’m familiar with TNT and have already added a link to them in the description, but thanks for letting me know about Polly props and cosplay shop.
JaxxRyan There used to be detailed instructions on making it on the dented helmet website and also the Mandalorian Mercs website, however I can’t find those instructions anywhere anymore. If you look in the info section of this video you’ll find some links to where you can buy it and a link to some video instructions for converting a pair of coveralls. Sorry, but that’s all I can come up with. I hope this helps a little bit, good luck.
Sorry for the late reply, sometimes I don’t get a notification of a message. You can print them out at maybe 90% and see how it looks and then adjust the size and try again. I go into the process in the video, but you should be able to make it fit anyone.
Unfortunately, there are just too many variables for me to answer that question. You'll have to go through the process in the video starting at 2:55. It's a little bit of trial and error but it's the best way to insure the correct fit. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, and Good Luck.
hey Robert,i think i have a problem with the armor you see,im just gonna say,i think im not the age of the size of the armor is there a way i can make smaller? say the size of a 16 year old dude?
Robert The StormTrooper Absolutely, making it smaller is much easier than making it larger. I cover what to do in the first part of the video. But in a nutshell you just have to guess at how much smaller you need it, print it out at that percentage and see how it looks.
Dylan Ha Unfortunately you’ll just have to experiment like I show in the video. But I think 83% is a good place to start. I hope this helps and good luck!

I prefer to do everything by hand... it is slower, yes, but any slip ups won’t be as bad, and it will feel all the sweeter when it is finished.
Thank you for the metric measurements! :)

It’s just the part that attaches to the codpiece and runs along your waistline on the left side.
