A few days ago, God brought this song to my mind. I couldn't remember all the words but knew the tune. Tonight I found this version, and Jesus used it to encourage and help me. The timing was perfect for me at this time. I have major concerns about my grown children and need His confidence to pray effectively for them. Thanks so much for this video version. It is the Best I've found.
I searched on TH-cam for this song which hadn't thought about in 20 years. It is one of the most meaningful believer songs to me. I bought a portable cassette player a few months ago and have been playing my old cassettes and have a beautiful version of 2 women singing this song at a Women's Retreat.
This is such a blessing to me at a really difficult time in my life. The words minister hope to my soul. A beautiful version with such helpful images - thank you for posting this to share. I have hope that God will transform me back into the woman He created me to be and longs for me to be, by His grace and love. It is not what others say about us, but what God knows and says about us that is true! Thank You Lord❤️
I to love this song . For me it is right up there with Amazing Grace . This song I Shall change your name . Has chocked me up and welled up my tears to. I lean on these songs and others to lift my spirts . And calm my soul in these trying times . I also love I will cast all my cares on you . Bless all who wrote these songs . We are grateful . Thank you for sharing .
And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. Isaiah 62:2-4 KJV
Do you know the scripture calls rebellious and backslidden Jewish people "Jacob "... when like Jacob he wrestles them thru the night, the dark times of thier lives... breaking them as he did Jacob at thier strongest place he lifts them up and leads them. He gave Jacob a new name " Israel " meaning he wrestled God and God prevailed.... embrace trials as correction, he wants every Jacob to be Israel... all Israel will be saved 🙌
Nice song. But is it from the Bible .? God is good all the time. The Muslims say Allah hu Akbar- God is great. Sometimes we rely on our own understanding of the faith and become worldly.
Not an exact scripture but a concept found therein.... Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. Isaiah 62:4 And they will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of The LORD; and you will be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken. Isaiah 62:19
Fabian Doulton this comes from the scripture in Genesis where Jacob was wrestling with God and God said he was changing his name from Jacob (supplanter) to Israel (ruled by God). It’s beautiful.....He changes OUR names too as we turn to Him and let Him rule us instead of trying to rule our own lives. :)

To know that we are a friend of God who seeks His face is an awesome reality.
One of the best songs I have ever heard.

I Will Change Your Name
D.J.Butler
Sung By Wiley Beveridge
Someone please tell me where's this line appears in the Holy Bible. ?
Genesis 35: 10 And God said to him, “Your name is Jacob; you will no longer be called Jacob, but your name will be Israel.” So God named him Israel.
Fabian, I believe it is based on Isaiah 58.
Is 62:2 and Rev 2:17
@@brucefeierabend3803 thank you!

who is singing this song? as it is a Vineyard song, but this is not from the Vineyard cd.
I think its public domain, we sang this in camp and I still can't find that version.
Roger Olson DJ Butler wrote the song. She is a long time Vinyardite.
@David Marshall What a precious compliment! I love John Michael. Made my day.
