My son was sent home from school because he had a skull on his tshirt. Censorship at its finest I guess. Guess his principal thought I was a bad mom. He turned out to be a pretty good guy even with the influences of skulls on his shirt…he doesn’t even worship the devil 😂
@@dbell582 My son was wearing slayer shirts to school in the 3rd grade. He grew up to be a very responsible hard working man. Luckily we never had a problem. Some people think raising their kids with blinders on will help them and they’re only hurting them
Hey dumb fuck, you ever think that maybe people just aren’t into the same shit you’re into? Just because someone dooesn’t know or like your favorite dogshit band doesn’t make them “sheltered”.
I can't even watch their videos. Eapecially since being a Christian some depiction in one really really really made me feel uncomfortable. But Slipknot by far is in my top 5 favorites.
I could not stop laughing when you zoomed in on her face! She looked genuinely disturbed lmao! I couldnt imagine you showing her the song Iowa! Great reaction! Also this may be one of the first reactions where someone actually catches Sids transformers mask with his tongue out! His eyes actually light up red too! 😂🔥
Her face was priceless. I know this type of music isn't for her but if she knew the backstory or the message behind the songs from Metallica, Slipknot, Black Sabbath, ect. She may be able to understand the appeal better.
Holy Crap - she isnt ready for Disasterpiece/People = Shit/Heretic Anthem/Eyeless yet 😂 I would go backwards from Nero Forte/Unsainted and work in reverse!
My girlfriend has the exact look when this comes on & I’m totally into it. She actually came to a Slipknot gig with me in Glasgow, & I was having a total blast going with the words & all she gave was those exact looks when I was saying that the whole thing was awesome. God bless her I do love her though. Keep this stuff up all the way from Scotland 🏴🏴🏴.
I guess the Heretic Anthem is a no. Lol. How about Snuff. Or even the live version Corey Taylor did by himself. She may like Jinjer - Pisces (Live Sesion)
As others have suggested some Jinjer might be a good way to ease her in, but I'd also suggest Spiritbox either Secret garden, Trust fall or Perennial. But you can't go wrong with any songs by either band.
Demon Hunter is another great metal band with songs similar to this one, but they have some softer songs she might enjoy. "I Will Fail You" would be great, or, perhaps some songs from their "Resurrected" album.
Old Maggot here, old as in I have a kid older than you two ( he's 34) I think the awkwardly sheltered need not partake in "The Devil & I". Poor girl looks like she is having a rectal exam. That being said, she is a beautiful young lady, I just hope you don't so severely shelter your children. And Sweetpea, you ARE cool!!! At least you tried! I'm proud of her!
Bro i want to see the reaction of ur wife in halloween with this video Slipknot - The Negative One by Stan Hom , for me the most horror video and best tribute to Slipknot ive ever seen i sware u ! :D PLEASE MAKE MY NIGHT in halloween ! :D
It's percussion, Shawn Crahan is a percussionist be is also arguably the artistic talent behind the band. He's also one of the harsher characters of the band. I think you should listen to Snuff, and Vermillion. Snuff to show off the singing talent, and the writing talent. But I think that you should also try to open your mind up a bit. My sadness that you clearly could not vibe with this at all, is legitimately frustrating. Saying something satanic is going on is just helarious. Honestly in terms of positive influences in high school, I'd rank Slipknot second, only to system of a down . As they gave me such an outlet for some of the frustrations. I fully acredit my never having gotten into a physical altercation, to the fact that metal has allowed me to chill out so much. To say that is wierd because I've been told I have anger issues. Heavy metal on the surface can be incredibly intimidating, even to someone who has listened to it for the majority of their life. There are genres which i still am sorry of biassed against but just recently my bias was totally shattered. The genre I can finally totally understand is "Death Core" and the band is Lorna Shore the song, To the Hellfire. Now to really understand Death Core you have to kind of take a Huge step back. Death core is a genre whose Lyrics quite often contain subject matter surrounding Death. That doesn't mean that they're violent, or even disturbing. It just means they are talking about death. And since opening up to this genre I really don't understand why art surrounding the subject of death is ALMOST always somewhat taboo, considering that Death is legitimately the only thing that's guaranteed in Life, why do we not explore it more? Why is it so scary? When you see this you see this is actually a lot of the reason people don't like metal in general, because the subject matter is dark, the art is dark, therefore it must be "Evil". Preconceived notions are a bitch, and they can truly ruin your perception of ANYTHING. Take for example Frogs Legs, frogs legs seem like nothing I would ever... Ever want to eat. I just imagine them being slimy. But Chicken legs, on the other hand.... Wait I don't think I'd rather consume a chicken leg now that I think of it... Music in particular can be ruined. Metal gets a very very bad rap. There was this whole thing in the 80's with a particularly notorious Norwegian Black Metal Band, who burned down some very historic churches. This is largely attributed as one of the main factors that lead to the "Satanic Panic". Which basically lead to a lot of people labeling Metal in general as "the devil's music". Which is absurd. I think that if you asked about 95% of metalheads if they are satanists or if their music of choice is satanic, they would laugh, and then if you were serious, they'd probably sit you down and have a nice conversation about how chill metal can be and how well written the songs are, and maybe get into how complicated the music can be. Seriously, if you watch videos about metal heads, you'll see most people say that metal heads are a very friendly chill group of people. I'm blathering. I hope that you can find a song that she can vibe with, and maybe break some of that pre conceived notion. Also you should maybe take a look at the satanic Panic, from a metal heads perspective it might help you understand how the whole genre got smeered by the acts of a few very sick individuals. I don't say that lightly. As the things that happened surrounding that band were all pretty fucked up, one of their friends committed suicide using a shotgun, and the first thing the guy who found him did, was take photos of his now deceased friend, he later used one of the photos for the cover of an album. These were truly sick people who happened to enjoy Metal. But the media turned this into a huge huge black mark for Metal music as a whole, and honestly probably caused the genre as a whole to stagnate for a while. Though now it is certainly flourishing. If your curious about that particular band, there is a movie which covers a lot of what happened titled "Lords of Chaos" though it is tough to watch as it is very depressing. You have to take the bad with the good though. Burzum arguably had one of the worst impacts on the metal scene, due to the after effects of his actions. While bands like Gojira, donate tons of money to things like Building hospitals in the Amazon for native people's. System of a Down brought a rediculous amount of attention to the Armenian Genocide, and actively went to Congress to try and get the American government to recognize that turkey had committed atrocities against the Armenian peoples. Again take the bad with the good, but most of Metals History is a good one.

Give her a dose of how actually talented Corey is, lol. I love "Snuff", Stone Sours "Bother" , his solo stuff, and a song called "From Can To Cant"
